Been an A's fan my whole life and i cant see supporting this ownership group under any circumstances. Even if they're forced back to Oakland and get the waterfront ballpark, they still wouldnt spend on the team. Happened w the Quakes. The whole thing feels hopeless. That's a great question, their absolutely ditching this entire fanbase and looking to recreate a whole new one in Vegas? I know way too many Dodger and Diamondback fans in that part of Nevada to honestly say that will be true. @@RichmondHBK Some owners pay some of the cost themselves it is the greedy ones who wont that a city that is not rich where it can hurt them to do that.
One story even said some cities would be better off to give everyone in the city 20k to 50k to start their own business that had to remain in the city and pay taxes would have better odds to make the city profit.
What is even the point of having an owner when the city could just buy the whole team? That would be the way to do it if you were going to. At least if you own a team you can sell it for a massive profit in 20 + years even if you do not know anything.

The Raiders stadium was built with over $750 million tax dollars, taken from the Clark County “rainy day” tax fund (typically used for Nevada education, 50th in education by the way), that we’ve all paid into for decades (if you’ve even lived here that long). That increased hotel tax you’re talking about isn’t going to pay off the stadium for many, many decades. Oh, and now we have to pay for parking in Las Vegas because the gross toilet bowl looking stadium doesn’t have any. I’m not from California so I’m pretty educated about the stadium. Congratulations

Alameda County, present home of the As, has a larger population than the State of Nevada.
A little context is needed here. The As insisted on a 10 year lease on the Coliseum at the time when the Raiders presented a plan for redevelopment of the Coliseum complex, which included new stadiums for both teams. That, in effect, ended the process for keeping the Raiders in Oakland. MLB should force a sale of the club to a ownership team committed to putting a quality product on the field and work with Oakland to secure a stadium.
