The epic action of Edge of Tomorrow unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loopforcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again...and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, each repeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Watched 'Edge of Tomorrow' and my mind is totally blown! 🤯 The plot is seriously next-level awesome. At the beginning, I was totally confused, but wait for it... that's the crazy twist, and it's sooo worth it. This movie is legit amazing, no joke. 10/10 would recommend.

People should drop trying to compare this film to others and just go see it. Its easily one of the best "sci fi blockbusters" in many many years and has so much more going for it than you can possibly realise from a trailer... Ditch the Tom Cruise hate too the guy does an awesome job in this film and in most films he always brings a great performance. What he's like on an oprah couch doesn't matter.
Even if I was reset, I will still go to see this movie.

Fun fact - All You Need is Kill was written quite awhile before Source Code, Elysium, and Oblivion.

This is a 5 stars movie, cool acting, cool effects, cool story.
Always thought Emily Blunt was a great actress! The Adjustment bureau, Wild Target but no one ever seems to talk about those films it's always just "The Devil Wears Prada" which she was amazing in but I feel like people are missing out on some of her greater works. Plus the plot of this film looks awesome :)

What is it with American films having to show that most of rest of the world has fallen and couldn't possibly stand up to the alien invasion force. Putting aside the major countries in the EU and their armies for a second, some countries in the Middle East such as Israel have some of the most advanced weapons in the world. Don't get me wrong the idea of a last stand is kind of the pinnacle (some would say cliche) of many action movies. But it does seem like, and I say this as a Brit, most American films give the impression that nobody could possibly survive and alien invasion or monster apart from them.
I'm happy Tom Cruise has gone into almost nothing but kinda light sci-fi recently. Don't know why but it suits him.
This film is the perfect adaptation of first person shooter videogames. Everytime you die you reset

Telling from the trailer it seems at some point, Cruise no longer has the ability to reset and Blunt no longer knows Cruise and doesn't know who he is.

Just so you know, this is a movie adaptation of a light novel called "All you need is kill" And it currently has a manga adaptation with the artist being the creator of Death Note and Bakuman.
I actually think this looks really good! I didn't see Oblivion but on first impressions I didn't get that excited. This I'm looking forward to!

Wondering whether to go see this film purely down to the fact The Glitch Mob feature in the trailer.
From 1:14 it sounds like The Glitch Mob's Becoming Harmonious, is it only me?
When the first trailer came out it was a little confusing. This trailer clears almost everything for me. I didn't understand why time keeps jumping back for him but they explain it in this trailer that Tom Cruise somehow "hijacks" their power so every time he dies he can go back and redo everything without losing his memory.

I don't know about you guys, but to me, the setting of this movie is sort of in the mix between Source Code, The Matrix, and Inception. Is it just me?
