Something I discovered, accidentally, (with my 2017 RAV4 Limited) was that the center arm rest (storage compartment lid) is adjustable. It slides forward about an inch or 2.
This review is riddled with amazing detail on all different Toyota rav4 and just the video editing and explanation is superb. Thank you for following your impulse on creating a review for this model car. it has answered most of the question I need to move forward with my buying decision. keep up the great work!
Very thorough and informative. This was a great review! I had been on so many sites and was getting tired of going in circles with spreadsheets. Seeing and hearing it explained made it much easier to grasp an overview. I took notes! Buying one soon!!!

Car Confections I actually like it quite a bit and I'm a little biased as I've fallen in love with my wife's CR-V. I've had a sporty coupe, a classic 71, now I drive a 97 pickup, but my first and best was an 02 midsized SUV, Mazda Tribute, reliable as hell. Torn between a 5 door hatch or a smaller, still fun to drive SUV or "Crossover" for my first actual nice newish car purchase. No kids but two small-ish dogs, I love to drive and I'm almost set on the Mazda3 but always keep an open mind and eyes. Nice review, I'll be back for more.

Why is it that almost every reviewer has to rev the engine while showing the tail pipe. Who does that with theirown car and what is it supposed to prove ? Excellent review.
Thanks! At 23:05 I was actually referring to having smart access on all 4 doors (Platinum exclusive) versus only on the front 2 doors (optional or standard on the rest of the trims). Sorry for any confusion!
For 2018 there will be a new Adventure model with more off-road capable gear and trim pieces for appearance. There may be handful of equipment level changes (not announced yet) but there won't be any significant changes.
I’m expecting a new redesign 5th generation RAV4 2019 or RAV4 2020 will be a bit sportier and more aggressive, more eco, bigger, nicer, safer, stronger, and higher than this 4th generation . The front of the vehicle shall be semi- AUDI Q8 2018, and the rear of the vehicle shall be semi- BMW X7 2018 .
The Rav4 needs more ground clearance. Every Rav4 I see has the tailpipe hanging too low. By the way, don't rev the engine, it proves nothing and is also very annoying. Nice review.. .
+Irving Bazua Hi Irving! Toyota very confusingly made changes to every trim in the middle of the 2017 model year. They deleted previously standard equipment and reduced the price, but did not indicate this with a change in model year. One of those features are the roof rails which are no longer standard. Thanks for watching!
Why is the RAV4 missing Remote start Non turbo charged engine More than 8 way seats Panoramic sunroof Soft dash OUTDATED chime from last generation Ventilated seat opcion Led map lights Soft upper rear door REAR AIR VENTS Nicer head liner Power passenger seat For the platinum trim level and being the most expensive car in this class But there are some things that I like about this Standard safety package Perimeter scan 360 camera Foot activated power liftgate Cargo space
The XLE comes standard with CONNECTED navigation which goes through your smartphone. You can get a package on the XLE to make it have integrated nav ($940).
Informative and s l o w paced video. I liked how the RAV drives & standard radar cruise. I wish a reviewer would just call a duck a 'duck'. The Rav looks like a space ship or star wars helmet. Ugly. The packages and lines are odd (Le, XLE, act). For example, I've been looking for Apple Car Play, heated seats, AWD, and a back up camera. Simple. To get what I want requires a costly numerous package upgrades. Now the price is in prized CRV & Outback territory.
Car Confections i bought mine 2017 rav4 le fwd and it is not equipped with TPMS. I brought it back to the dealer and they said only the "US MADE" had TPMS but if it is build here in Canada, they don't have it. Is this true?
Andrew Diano Hi Andrew. I am not sure who you spoke to, but tire pressure monitoring is required on all vehicles sold in the U.S. by law. Also there are no "U.S made" RAV4s since all North American RAV4s are all assembled in Ontario Canada. Hope this helps!
Car Confections Yes i do. I bought mine somewhere in Alberta, Canada. My really concern is i saw one promotional video from one dealer in Ontario and that Rav4 has TPMS on it. I am wondering why mine doesnt have one. Just last week one of my rear driver tire blown out while driving 80kph on a highway. If i only had TPMS i could have pull my car over and check my tire. I know one of the reason why your tire might blows out if your are running it flat.

My grandmother bought a 2018 Hybrid Limited and she loves it.
This will be my first SUV! Nice review bro.

+A D Thanks so much!
Awesome video of the 2017 Toyota RAV4!!! My friend's mom has that car in purple and she loves it!!
Awesome review! I always like your reviews because they are so detail and you go over everything and you put your opinion no where in it. Great job!
+Dustin Hart Thanks! It's great to have you as a fan and subscriber!

Thank you so much!! We're glad we could help you out!! Good luck with your purchase :)
Platinum trim is REALLY good looking.
Wow what a relaxing review!
Good job on the review!
$2 gas prices!! OMG I wish they just went past $4 for the first time I've seen in my city.
thanks for the detailed overview
Great review on all your cars! Love the details you show.
+mjadamci Thanks so much!
This Platinum is new to me, and I least a 17 XLE.
Good review but I really hoped it would be more of the base model since its what most people lease.
Liked your thorough work. Cut the music though.

Good detail review! You sound quite young. Keep up the good work. Try to relax a bit and make it fun. 👍🏻👍🏻🦅🦅🇺🇸
+Frank Kwok Thanks! Will do!

To hear the exhaust note from the outside... pretty obvious...
What’s the difference between the 2016 and 2017 other than standard safety sense and the new trim?
Thanks for sharing! Great review.
You're very welcome! We're glad you liked it :)
So on the platinum unlimited it does not have 6 speakers? How is the radio sound????
don't understand why this excellent vehicle just has 6.3 inch ground clearance? Toyota, please just make it a bit higher!
That's one nice RAV4 😍😍😍😍♥️♥️♥️♥️
i would like to see a improvement on the next model
Thorough review overall. The XLE comes with smartkey access though, not unique to the platinum 23:05
Thanks! At 23:05 I was actually referring to having smart access on all 4 doors (Platinum exclusive) versus only on the front 2 doors (optional or standard on the rest of the trims). Sorry for any confusion!
Ahhh... gotcha man. Do you know of anything new coming out for the 2018 that would be worth waiting for or?
For 2018 there will be a new Adventure model with more off-road capable gear and trim pieces for appearance. There may be handful of equipment level changes (not announced yet) but there won't be any significant changes.
No power seats on xle trim? Here in Canada, power seats are standard on xle and up. Also, a heated steering wheel comes standard on se grades and up
i cried for the special effects haha

Are the screen measurements taken side-to-side or diagonally ??
Diagonal
TPMS?
Does it means that platinum is the best
It's the top trim, yes
The Rav4 needs more ground clearance. Every Rav4 I see has the tailpipe hanging too low. By the way, don't rev the engine, it proves nothing and is also very annoying. Nice review..
.
lacking quite a bit for the trim level and price. electric hand brake, remote start, power seat for passenger to mention few.
How many inch is the spare wheel in the trunk?
do the roof rails come standard on every trim level? my 2017 XLE did not come with any

Why is the RAV4 missing
Remote start
Non turbo charged engine
More than 8 way seats
Panoramic sunroof
Soft dash
OUTDATED chime from last generation
Ventilated seat opcion
Led map lights
Soft upper rear door
REAR AIR VENTS
Nicer head liner
Power passenger seat
For the platinum trim level and being the most expensive car in this class
But there are some things that I like about this
Standard safety package
Perimeter scan
360 camera
Foot activated power liftgate
Cargo space
Because they want it to be extremely reliable. My 2015 Foresters CVT already died on me.
It is NOT a lexus
@@MrRedskins0021 thats a subaru for ya
The XLE actually does have integrated navigation
The XLE comes standard with CONNECTED navigation which goes through your smartphone. You can get a package on the XLE to make it have integrated nav ($940).
Car Confections yes that's what I meant lol. Because we just purchased an XLE with integrated navigation

This is like animal planet, but for cars.
Indicators turn light unnoticeable into round a bout. Not pratical n need to redesign.
I don't believe there's any leather anywhere!!
Is it equipped with TPMS?
+Andrew Diano Yes

On the 2020 Rav 4 Toyota dropped the ball all over the enterior!! 😡 Lots of cut corners. 😡
2 dollars! Try 12 pounds!
The rav4 is not a true AWD! Do your research before buying. This comment from a disappointed buyer!
Please Explain more to me if possible
It is? You can split the power 50/50 but generally it is not in that power mode so you can get better mpg.
How about do more research BEFORE buying the car?
the rav4 is so outdated
Compared to the current gen, this one is better
