This is a really good beginner video. You show all the different options, and supplies. I wish I had this as reference when I first started. For those who feel their brains exploding, remember to just start with a couple of things. I first started collecting all the pretty stickers and washi tape on sale from Michael’s and Dollarama , and then couldn’t decide which to use because they were too pretty to write on, etc. So, I stopped buying and diying and started using what I have. Lol... I'm here to see of I can learn anything that will help me, definitely not to copy or even be very similar because this is so not my style. (Im not a super decorator of my planners, I usually don't even use included stickers, lol.) But I feel like I will probably learn one or two things that will be very helpful.

Kat I feel your pain I am in a pretty similar position, with conflicts between my mental disorders. I find it very therapeutic to put stickers and add colour to the week, even if the well done is just for getting the laundry on.

I like the A5 ringbound binder filled with folded grid paper (graph and gradebook), and bullet paper with extra scrapbooky inserts like brochures from events, sticker pockets, and card colecter pockets. I kept the monthly calendars but ditched tbe daily meal planning.
My weekly/ dailies are very simple 1p (half spread) horizontal.
I use highlighters, brush pens, sharpie fine point, ball point, mechanical pencil, washi tape, semitransparent flags, and stickers (especially emoji faces but also one mambi book and gold bordered labels for quotes and verses).
I customized a pack of patterned semitransparent dividers and use colorful plastic paperclips as bookmarks.
I also already had a pack of symbol stamps and got a pack of stencils.
love this video. I've been planning since middle school like writing everything down for the week, then when I started youtube 6 years ago I went into more extreme planning lol. now this year I decided to make decorating a hobby and so excited for this planner community! it's so fun already

The Frixon pens are awesome! I first found them while buying school supplies at my local grocery store. I used them to do the employee time cards. Because I don’t like scratching mistakes out or using white out!
I'm getting my first Erin Condren planner next week and I have no idea how far this can go. I just got into watching plan with me videos and I was wowed. This video definitely showed me where I should start! Thank you! I was for the most part just learning the lingo and what pens to use so I don't smudge the pages :)

Thank you for doing this video. I am restarting a planner after many many years. I used to plan so much stuff I drove my family nuts. I purchased a happy planner and have all the sticker books. I have also purchased weekly sets. It's so therapeutic and I love keeping track of my week.
You welcome!! :-) How exciting! I started with the first release of the Happy Planner before they had sticker books and some many options. So I agree the Happy Planner is a really fun option! You will enjoy it! Just don't stress yourself out to much, just think of it as a functional and creative outlet. :-)

LOL YES! it is easy to fall down the rabbit hole of planning! Target Dollar Spot doesn't carry stationery goodies like they used to a few years back .however it still has great items worth checking out! :-) Happy New Years!

I just started planning this year with an official planner. I have the Happy Planner vertical style from Micheal's I like it so far. I haven't gotten into the stickers or fun yet, I'm a little afraid to, but I know if I did it, I would be obsessed. Baby steps, I know. lol Great video!!

I love the friction pens. Erasable and they come in varied colours.
I'm new to the planning world and I'm so happy I happened to click a video on a Erin condren planner one day !! Now it's a full blown obsession and Etsy defiantly feeds my addiction as a kid I loved stickers and paper and pens so now I can live my dream as a child and still adult lol

the only problem with the friction pens is they will fade with time. I hade used one religiously a few years ago to write everything including stories. I went through my notebooks a few months ago and they were so faded you couldn't read them. so for something permanent I would use something else

If the ink from those pens is fading, it's because your planner is being kept in too warm of an environment. The ink is made to fade with exposure to heat, which is why the friction of the specially made eraser creates heat that makes the ink fade (and appear to be erased).
This has to be the best by far newbies planning video. You explained everything very well. Having references made things make a lot of sense. I am not new to planning but I was also able to pick up some tips and tricks. Thank you for sharing.

wow! thank you so much for this vid. I just received my very first EC vertical planner, and was lost. can not ''CAN NOT'' afford to do every week in fancy planning. I am a scrapbooker and card maker so I have tons of that craft I can use. Like the idea of printing off stickers, so that will be my first save. thank you again for sharing.
Yes, I came from scraping first too! My first planner had a lot of pattern paper, washi and stamps. You can find people decorating a number of ways. I say just do what is fun and works for you. :-)

Hi! If you have a printer than I recommend printable inserts to refill your planner. You can find freebies on Pinterest or Etsy.com has a ton of shops that offer printables. I believe they are affordable is because once you download the file you can always print them again. HTH :-)

There is a company that sells their sticker books on amazon for nine dollars! The books are sold by subject matter, soooooo cute! I ordered their fitness set and found it to be super nice!

I believe you are right. I am fairly new to planning with the more modern materials, but it is so much more fun than the way it used to be.

Great video. I just went through this process this past year. I determined I am a function planner and this year I am rest driving the hourly format and NEED to set a budget cause one can easily get carried away !!🤑
