This camera makes 2020 look like the 90’s. I’ve the same camcorder, I can’t wait to try this. It’s like entering a vintage world through the lens.
Let me know how you like it! It’s been such a cool process trying to figure it out. I need to get more tapes so I can keep playing with it though 😅
Oh damn. I forgot I’d have to go on a hunt for tapes. Now that’s a challenge. We digitised all of our old tapes :(
where do you think I would be able to get one
@@nancyroche3980 vintage stores? Or maybe ebay. eBay at times has vintage items.
Isn’t it a Sony tr98, I’m pretty sure it came out in 2001
At 3:17 It just dawned on me what nostalgia really is: it’s just a lens that you look through in. At the end of the day, people of the 90s were cruising down the same street that you now do, albeit a few changes of course. Life itself remains the same. Thank you for this, I appreciate your effort ❤️
insightful!
@@pattran4057 thank you :) I hope you have good days.
Precisely! YES! nothing has really changed except technology, Fashion and our ways of life and human interaction but that's about it!
This is mostly true and a wonderful way to describe the sensation. But there are many differences between the '90s and today, mostly small, but combined they do change the look and feel of city life. Obviously fashion was different. The cars are vastly different, as are the typefaces on signs. Even the street signs have been modernized in many cases. But no question, at a glance, this video felt like time travel. Magical.
That camera turned everything aesthetically pleasing
Ikr
i love how she's using her dads camera and her moms clothes from the 90s.
(i love you btw audrie, I love the content and how hard you work on editing)
After seeing my parents, I felt like they gave me some inspiration (I’ve been lacking a lot of that lately). Also it’s been really fun just thinking about how different things were made back then 🙈
Ikr i love how she fulfills my vintages dreams
My mom also has the same camcorder and even after 21 years, it is still working. There's something magical filming home videos with this camcorder.
I love the sparks when the light hits water.
Aahhh those starlike blinks in the water.. these footages brings back magical days.
I'm scared that 2010 aesthetic will be like this in 2030. Ear-rape and ironic editing being the new calming.
LOL
yess!! our childrens be like: i wanted to live in 2010s so bad 😫😫😫
@@amylikespiders Lol yeah. When people miss the terribleness, beauty, and weirdness that is gen z humor, now replaced by adults in Disney doing the same humor unironically and ruining it all and deranging it into something else for monetary gain. Then we broke through and we're doing memes with APLS
well... it's not even 2030 but it's trend now
you're literally so lucky you got one from your dad, i really want one but they're so expensive to buy😭🤧
I had to convince him to let me take it 😹 - I promised him that if I could figure out how to get it to work again that I would digitize all of our old video cassettes.
@@AudrieStorme awwe🤧🥺
You could probably buy one in a flee market or a thrift store
I got mine for $120
they are only around $150-$200 ... not bad at all... but i’d buy now bc that price will go up!
I grew up in Downtown Long Beach in the early 90s so seeing 2020 DTLB through a 90s camcorder was a trip for me 🥰
The aesthetic is just so immaculate
ok those water sparkles are giving me life
My favorite scene haha
I could have cried watching this. Something so peaceful about it!
Omg I literally just woke up from my nap and saw a notification that she posted a video, this is the best day! 🥺💕
Great editing, music, and production on this video. I enjoyed every second of it!! The old school vibes of your Dads old camcorder really brings back the nostalgic vibes and you made it look aesthetic at the same time. Great job!! 👍🏽🔥
My dad used to have the same camcorder. Watching this brought back memories. I'm over the modern day quality in our cameras and miss filming with the quality we had back then.
Film while it's sunset
*plus Robbers - 1995 bgm
=aesthetic 90's vibes
So aesthetic!!! Love that your parents keep so many of their old items (like your mom’s dresses). Things were made to last back then; I still have some of my mom’s dresses and wool trousers and they look pristine still!
It’s also funny that you didn’t know the cassette tape didn’t go in the camcorder- it’s weird how much technology has changed...
Ahhh I’m just lucky my parents are very sentimental! It was so funny trying to get that audio cassettes to go in, it was a solid 2 minutes before I realized it was the wrong one 😹🙈
90’s vibe hell yea!🖖🏼
Excellent Video info! I just bought the late 90s DCR TRV 27 Sony Handycam so I could play tapes I had when my 21 year old Daughter was a toddler. I love it! The old tapes still play like new, in excellent quality. Thanks for sharing! Thank you so much for the Transfer to digital info!!! Those mix tips and separate Audio items I would not have figured out right away. I know our Cameras have to have easier methods for transfer because mine has a “mpeg EX” sticker, DV out ports, a built in SD card, and S-Video out ports.
I can't stop binge watching all of your vlogs. They're all cinematic and therapeutic. I love you 💕
I love the way these cameras look. ❤😍
Omg I love how nostalgic it is 😍✨✨
I swear i love this type of cameras of 90
this feels so nostalgic wth 🥺
My vintage desires have been fulfilled
Hi8 is awesome. Did you know that in 1998 when nightshot was introduced, it was able to see through clothing? My Dad actually got one that year since I was born in March 1998. It was a Sony CCD-TRV85 (top of the line back in the day)
Hi8 is analog video like VHS
I absolutely ADORE your videos. the artistry is everything. I aspire to make as aesthetically pleasing content as you do
This is a very lovely video! Good to see people recording with those old cameras again :)
this was literally SO helpful. you've inspired me to start practicing with my mom's old film camera!
Nostalgia vibes are on point 💯
10 mins of nostalgia!
Still have my parents. Hasn’t been used sense I was a baby. They got it at a thrift shop for quite cheap. And just decided to film me when I was little. Which is amazing.
My father got a camcorder in 2000 he got a thousand dollar one though, the tapes on it are incredible and we used it until 2010. As of now, the quality is amazing for hi8, and it rarely glitches, frame rate is smooth, battery still works, and the focus, zoom and other things are actually better done than my phone. (iPhone 8 plus) The camcorder I have absolutely destroys in comparison to the camcorders I see mostly on RUclips.
i just copped a handyman camcorder dvd edition after wanting one for years :) that aesthetic really reminds me of 2000-2010. I geek over this type of stuff. cameras are so timeless with the ability to "take us back" thru film. that's something modern phones/cameras have really ruined about the aspect of capturing memories. i appreciate all the devices that remain timeless for this type of thing. it keeps the vintage era alive.
Wow watching this just reminded me that my dad had also given me his camcorder and I almost forgot it existed! I get upset sometimes when thinking of my 70D that got soaked up in sea water last year, but this video got me to get that camcorder. It’s a sony dcr-trv22, not as old or expensive, but still holds its value. Thank you for this beautiful video!✨
OMG your channel and videos are a whole entire VIBE! I really enjoy your footage of LBC! It's already the coolest beach city ever but your videos make it so much more cool.
wow, i love this so much. it's so pretty!! it reminds me of my old home videos omg
Yes!! Next time I see my family, I’m going to try and digitize all of our old videos. I’m really excited to watch those 😹
@@AudrieStorme this makes me want to digitise all the old footage my parents have on cassettes from like 2003. definitely gonna do that soon
ugh this was so enjoyable to watch. great job audrie.
I definitely am in love with this. My grandpa has a lot of old things, I'll be asking him if he has any camcorder from the past I can have.
Thank you for watching! It was definitely a process trying to get it to work, but I’m kind of loving it. Totally worth it if you have some time on your hands though - it’s been a pretty big source of inspiration for me during this time 🙈
vintage cams just make the world seem happier
this is SO realaxing
I love the 90s! I still have my Sony VX 1000 which was the cream of the crop for shooting video in the 90s. I might have to break it out and start shooting with it again. Hahaaa. I can't believe all the interest in this video. Amazing.
I have a one exactly like this from the 90s that my grandmas parter used to own before he died unexpectedly in 2005, I could buy a couple tapes and use them for stuff like this. It has some old holiday tapes from 1999 and my mothers 18th and other stuff like that but it just shows how much a camera can do.
Im using mines tomorrow just bought extra 8mm tapes online and two new batteries and a charger can’t wait!
My love for vintage cameras was enough for me to subscribe your channel but girl no you got fire in you I really enjoyed this video so much and now count me in your subscribers🤌🏻🤍🥹
This video was perfect from beginning to end !!!
all the vintage feels! ✨
Your music selections are fantastic!
wow so cool! you're so lucky your parents kept a lot of treasures from the 90s. this was very nostalgic for me 💛
Very happy you enjoyed ❤️
your channel is the best🥺 its so aesthetically pleasing and a whole vibe! never stop filming, much love
Just purchased it on eBay and got everything from Amazon. Can wait to film with this ☺️
any luck with audio?
dude OBS!! that makes so much sense. ever since MacOS Catalina I was never able to use the old converting software I had but I never thought of using OBS thank you!!
audrie's videos are gold
In love with toyota aa!
this is how i want to spend summer
Best editing I ever seen
Hd a friend tht was relocating n gave me the best gift ever
love the work you are one of those you tubers who have inspire me to keep going at it
oh!! I have a similar one from my grandad! I've never used it, but I think it's time...
Earlier this year I got one of the old VHS cameras that takes full size tapes from a local thrift store. I haven't done much more than test it so far, but eventually I'd like to do a cheesy low budget horror flick shot on VHS. The VHS apps you can download are cool, but nothing beats authenticity.
ahhh all of your videos are works of art!!
Totally needed this vibe..you inspire me
So cool to see your process for this video! The transitions for the walking scenes and the ad were so smooth, I love it! Can’t wait to see what you film next!
girl that music video you made for us was beautiful ✨
I cant wait to buy one of these
My parents have a ton of older cameras and I’ve been wanting to put them to use for soo longgg, but have lagged to find & replace the proper films, tapes, chargers etc.
It's so amazing to see how our reality combines with the old style filming. I mean all the masks look crazy in this old-fashioned style, seems that all was in the past.
But not.
Anyway, absolutely beautiful video, thanks!
4:11 - 4:16 gave me city pop/sailor moon vibes 🥲 My dad and I were cleaning the garage and came across the camcorder, fingers crossed he didn’t get rid of it so I can try recording with it 🤞🏼
Since film photography’s been making a comeback, I wonder if 90s camcorders will make a comeback too 🤔
I have something like this! Old school way of doing things!
You are so under rated you deserve more than 1million subscribers!😍
Oh myy! Im speechless. Nostalgic. 💖
this is the best comparison video I’ve seen.
this is so cute! It reminded me of my whole family sharing a camcorder and passing it around for "special occasions" lol
So nice to have you back ❤
Its been a while!!! I missed you. And video perfect like all the others!!! Never stop filming
Ahhh yes I know, I’m sorry! I filmed a couple other videos before this one, but I just wasn’t feeling how they turned out 😅 - I didn’t want to post just to post and then I got preoccupied with making this one the best it could be. I hope you enjoy it!
This video was great and the music choice was good.
I randomly stumbled upon your vid. And my ......so cool! Looked like it's 90's ❤️
Feeling nostalgic. Thanks 👍😊
We still have the family camcorder that my parents used to film themselves in the ‘90s and my childhood in the early 2000s. Dang thing still works as well!
obsessed with your videos, so creative 😩😍
OMGGG THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO NOW I KNOW WHAT CAMERA I WANT TO GET FOR MY CLOTHING BRAND AND JUST START FILMING EVERYTHING!!!!
Funny, I just found my parent old camcorder too! Its the weirdest feeling being my parents age at the time and using it
wow its cool to be camcorder me have to i loved this camera and i buyed from abroad
📼📹
no wayy!! i was literally thinking about using my dad’s camcorder aha🥺 this is a sign!💗
I just found my mom's old camcorder from the 90s, I can't wait to use it XD
This is so sweet , I love it ❤️
Ahh so i just thrifted this camera! Cant wait to test it out! Please do more videos on it!!
Oh wow! Love this video! So informative! Thanks for all the tips! Loved the material u made thus far by the way!!
That was satisfying 💫
A small note, if you have/can find a 'PAL' camera(typically used in Europe, Australia, NZ etc) instead of 'NTSC' the quality will be a little higher, but will have less frames('fields' technically but that can get confusing) per second - 50 vs 60. 50 is still fine for smooth motion, most youtube videos are around 30(which was the maximum youtube supported in the past).
PAL vs NTSC was something of an issue at the time, as some NTSC TVs couldn't display PAL video, and to a lesser extent vice versa. But now as they'll be converted to digital, it's not really an issue, and basically any tv still being used will display either just fine(assuming it has analog inputs)
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
:O I think my dad gave me this same kind of camera (different color) when I was a kid. I used to film random things and make scuffed Lego stopmotions. I brought a recording of a bumblebee to show my glass in elementary school, I had to plug in the wires and everything. I miss that camera, I should find it and use it again
Wow this is so beautiful 😭💛
This was way too good 😭❤️
I grew up and still live in LB, was a nice surprise to see
I grew up with a camcorder just like yours! My family filmed a lot of things, and I used to make stop-motion lego movies with it haha. I want to find ours wherever it is, but the tapes must be a pain to find. And probably pretty expensive and not made anymore lol.
I have this camera though we have a different model but they work the same. Had so many memories recorded with that thing.
My favourite was the water footage 😊
Something about 90's Film is also Entertaining
okay your cinemotagraphy is 😩💖
Also, I love your videos Audrie. They take me to another world 😍
Thank you for watching ❤️
