NFL cheerleaders aren't cheerleaders at all. Look up the history of how they began. I think you'd be shocked. The Warriors don't call them Cheerleaders. They call them Dancers...which is what they are...glorified strippers, lol

Hello. I'm a cheerleader needing some help. Every year I was always a flyer. Over the sumer, I got a lot taller and my coach cast me a backspot. I am very weak and I have a hard time grabbing her ankles. I need advice on what to do!
hey, I'm a cheerleader too! try grabbing under your bases wrists and pulling up! it should help a lot since you can't reach. I have that problem too. you can also tell your bases to bend at their knees until you can reach her ankles then pull up on them. (:
I have been a backspot my whole cheerleading career. Make sure your always know where the ankles are or have a hold of them. A backspot can make or break a stunt especially because we see the stunt from a different angle then the bases. Also if your having a hard time grabbing ankles say going for a simple extension. Maybe start off begining the set position already holding the ankles and guiding them all the way up if that makes sense. I love to help anyone with cheer struggles. Practice a lot with them and get to know how you guys are gonna work as a whole.

Whenever you see cheerleading performance don't look at how they do the stunts, just feel the music and you might also feel why they dance the way they do. :-)
