I was always wondering why Roach was singing about China even with bad economic performance. After your explanation, it all makes sense. Roach may be academically smart but very naive about how things actually worked in China. This is true for a lot of Westerners who think that they are China experts. Just read The Three Kingdoms and you know that they had 5,000 years of scheming experiences. CCP doesn’t care about the economy. It cares about its own survival.
The CCP is more than willing to kill Chinese people to stay in power.
You must add to your good insight, about Marxism-Maoism.
It is an ideology of deceit, advocating for a ruling peasantry that has no limit of power or censorship.
It advocates of intentionally rousing conflict when there is no need to.

China has to revert to agrarian roots. CCP dictates while living in an apartment society has debased an ancient, confucious society.
That's not quite rational either. Sure, the CCP has heavily neglected the countryside past 40 years, and the situation there is even more awful than the cities. But the CCP is not the political party to do reform anymore. It's too corrupt; too far gone.

Speaking of censorship. I hear a lot about how China has the majority of Chinese citizens supporting it, I see about how people abroad who still think of themselves as Chinese nationality (not merely ethnicity) seem to vocally support China and it's policies. I wonder how many people inside China truly think it is doing well. How many merely say they think it is doing well as otherwise they may face punishment and restrictions from their 1984 security and overview. Does that seem at all a possibility or am I, as an outsider, merely attributing my outside of China knowledge and doubting so many can support a country so false?
The way CCP works with Chinese society is a choice between freedom of speech and liberty vs a choice between his life and death. It is sad that China needs to revoke the CCP regimen by display of total opposition in order to come out of this total death lock force upon them.
If you read the history or the Soviet Union and the Nazi Party, you will see that debasement happens rapidly when those in power have no experience and no responsibility to power. Ji Xinping is just another one of those criminal lunatics, like Stalin, Hitler, Mao and Kim Jong-Il, and Kim Jong-Un.
Many people inside China genuinely support CCP.

It’s high for all foreign students not just Chinese alone.
They gonna steal our tech advancements in the process, if we can’t shut that down - they need to PAY! Also it is expensive for all foreign students…. The kids who are farmed over here for education from China come from wealthy and/or high ranking family, they can afford it and often pay for others to take their classes and do their assignments/tests - A whole industry cropped up for it.
