And when a card from China gets bought in America and there’s a injury, then you can’t sue the original Chinese company have to sue the American company
I’m a young guy but it weird finally getting a “news reporter” that I like for the first time in my life is refreshing
If they had to pass environmental and labour manufacturing standard requirements.
It would be game over, for China.
Try the logic at your home. If you keep same standard of air freshness in the kitchen or toilet as that of a living room then none of your kitchen or toilets pass right. So please come out of such mindset.
@@DineshTwanabasu What?? I'm not talking about inside a home. I'm talking about inside our planet. We only have one.
Do you know, they are building two new coal plants a week. The processing of the battery metals, is far cheaper, in China why? Because it's money and market share first, environment later. Never heard of labour camps?
Western companies, have to adhere to labour and environmental regulations. Because, we think those things are important. But it costs a lot more to do business. Then we let China undercut those businesses. With products, that don't have those standards.
It's a serious problem.
@@billpetersen298 Try manufacturing at your country then you will know how much chinese are sacrificing to provide clean goods to the world. Cars have to pass safety standards to be sold in the US, at least currently.
Chinese card passed in Europe and BYD dolphin won the best buy car for 2024.
Like Boeing and F16😅😅😅

@@lance8080 How that's a fact. Here 50% of the electric cars sold are Chinese. and everyone is happy about it because our local brand sell cars double the price of a Chinese one. they also sell those cars abroad for a lot less. they have been screwing us over for years so we are happy there's a change. monopoly = you get screwed
half-joking question (but seriously) I've often wondered what would happen if a country like the USA 'fought fire with fire' and just for example, EVs.
Trump gets 5 billion in government money together and the US govt funds some "BYD' knockoffs. Call them 'BID' and has them manufactured in Vietnam where they sell for $1 USD in China. Just send a million 'BID' cars, and every villager and every aunty buys them up and the Chinese 'BYD' EV sales absolutely tank to zero.
Seriously what would happen. I'd be all for it just as a prank if nothing else.
ahahah what a grand plan op!
Thank you for speaking on these issues. So happy I found your videos
I would rather pay moderately higher prices for more safety features than pay less for a car that not only won’t perform as well, but is also less safe
Buy a EV in January, buy another in September, because the other one broke or burned up.
David, I always listen to your analysis with pleasure, continue...
Can't agree on the "phone buyers don't care about the quality". It's just that my friends and family had a couple generations of Xiaomi and Huawei phones, and they really had no drawbacks (except google store ban which can be solved with some tinkering) compared to their mid-level market competitors, while maintaining a dirt cheap price. And while they try hard, I don't think China will be able to achieve the same quality/price ratio with their EVs anytime soon...
BYD’s are poorly made and are a fire hazard.🙂
If China sells their cars at a loss, imagine the losses for US made cars!
That is why U.S. Ev’s are more expensive. And you should know by now that China will sell you something for free or cheap, but said item is not the product. The data that they collect from listening or tracking you, is where they make their money.

EV makers are struggling, this will be a big fail though other avenues might go
Struggling? They had 1 bad quarter, evs are still going to have an all time high in 2024

S struggling in US and Europe because previously they set goal to go green but when they found out that their companies are not the one winning the EV or Solar industries, they simply put tariff and sanctions.
old tricks still hold the deal, glory to cheat key
But how long a country can subsidize industries to get market shares? This tactic is a huge lost which increase the debt of a country. It looks highly risky to me. 🤔
The alternative is sweating at home eventually
June 2024 I believe specific solar panel and component tariffs on Asia, and several Chinese companies circumventing Tariff 201 will expire. Should enable the US to finally scale their production and force China to seek another sly entry.
Im not buying ANY CAR that anyone can simply break with a software update
It's simple logic to start with cheap export then move to quality throughout human history. This video is a nothing burger trying to stir up something but it's just common sense.
1:41 Don't be silly with the obsession with renewables. Solar is not the main source and China is not the only supplier. The local annual production of solar modules is 14 GW and will increase to 30 GW in a few years when all the projects under development are completed. Solar is part of a future mix that also includes wind, hydro, geothermal, biogas, hydrogen and nuclear. Europe can achieve a high degree of autonomy in these segments, and many fossil fuel moguls (their sponsored media/politicians/influencers) do not like this idea on principle. It's better to invest in localizing energy sources than to waste our money on OPEC imports or LNG the rest of the time. What you don't see or don't want to see is that the only successful Chinese EV brand in Europe is MG, and that's only because of nostalgia for the brand in the UK. A lot of customers do not want to buy cars from brands without service centres and easy availability of spare parts. Many other cars available on the EU market don't even use batteries made in China.
The war continues.
Market share in a market where items are replaced only every 5-8 years is a total nonsense.
The reason they have market share now, is because they are giving money away.
And ANY sales person can sell an item at a massive loss - that takes no skill at all.
No, building market share can only be meaningful when you are selling products profitably.
The INSTANT Chinese-made EVs rise is price, is the same instant consumers stop buying them.
There is ZERO brand loyalty to any Chinese car brand.
Thanks.
It's not China's fault, 🙈 but rather those who buy from China.
"It's not China's fault." I guess they don't have the human intellectual capacity to be accountable for their actions.
"It's not drug dealers' fault, but rather drug users." Yes and no. It takes two to tango.

Americans are not buying EV.
Yeah, unless they can drastically evolve the EVs quality and make the 10x cheaper, EVs will not be a thing in the future, or atleast not as big as some think
Personally still don’t like Ev no matter how many bells or whistles are added
I’m a hybrid car person
I don’t like relying batteries🪫🔋 that will need replacing
I don't want that junk evs have a bad time in cold weather
Yes they are...
I don’t care how good American, Chinese or whoever engineers the next big step in EVs I don’t care how affordable they are, you couldn’t catch riding around dead in a coffin in one.

You are correct!
While i love david and his reporting ,i feel like he is just too biased towards usa. What he reports about china is absolutely true and i wont deny it. He once praiser nancy pelosi(the most corrupt politician) in one of hid videos

EVs do more damage to the environment than ICE vehicles.
Without government subsidies sales will drop dramatically.
EVs are at best a niche market.
Smoothest brain on earth

BYD logo is legit a rip-off of Kia's old logo.
I think its a risky game. There seems to be alot of pushback and slow sales of EV's in the UK now. Hard and expensive to insure, not as cheap to buy and charge as people expected etc. I've also read that manufacturers and the market are moving more towards alternative fuels and hybrids.
This all in approach for China could really hurt them.
EV NOT COMING US.

But too answer against China I would Say Hold against. Once Trump in office that will be taken care of
