This is by far the best 3d tutorials I have found on RUclips. Even the higher production videos with the transmitter overlays don't come close. You are an awesome pilot and have an amazing way of explaining the ins and outs of 3d flying. Thanks......
Hey. Thanks for the comment and question. It's all about the pilot. I would set the expo around 75% to start with and then change it according to how you fly and feel. Thanks Voro.
@@Mr.Laidukas Phoenix I think... no longer officially available or supported but you can download it.. I think abandonware is the term! Just search for it. It's actually very good.. why it failed I don't know. I guess RealFlight marketing was better.
I use around 40% expo with 45 degrees of throw on ail and 60 degrees on elevator. I set up phoenix till the plane feels like the ones I fly. Thanks, Voro
Hi, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I thought that 3d flying was a nearly impossible thing to do. I have just learned how to hover (at least more than 10 seconds without crashing) thanks to your detailed explanations.
Well done 👏. I want to do that so bad . I'm going to practice and if I have any questions I will hit you up . Thanks for the invite . Happy Thanksgiving sir .
It seems that feather light is the key here like your plane. I've tried today with the old multiplex acromaster at altitude, from level flight I gradualy increased up elev and throttle until I found myself keeping the elev at max up..but got so much wing rock that it makes it almost imposible. Should I continously rock the elevator as well as throttle? My plane had a serious crash so now it's 1160g instead of about 1000g. I can do hovering for years, but those high alpha maneuvers only on the sim.. Should I try further or let it go as the plane is not that light?
Question about double servos on an aileron: why don't people split the aileron into 2 sections, with equal area? This would bypass the whole problem of having 2 servos fighting each other.
Theres also a maneuver called rolling Harrier. But i´ve seen some people. doin it in circles, how is that called? Is it just called a Rolling Harrier Circle or something like that? Or does it belong to another name?
Hello Voro. I am new to 3D Flying, mostly practicing on my simulator. I have been making progress but very slow. I have been watching your videos and they have helped. I wonder if you can advise me as what I should be working on first. Or give me a sequence of things to work on. I have been working on the following; Harriet, hovering, knife edge and some inverted flying. I have not mastered any of them. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you VERY much for the videos. They are great!!
what about wing rock? I get bad wing rock when I try. does phoenix 4 have wing rock in it? i need to practice fixing it and would like to buy phoenix thanks, great tutorials.
Hi voro I am practicing the harrier according to your instructions. When I stall the plane. The plane keeps tipping one wing instead of falling out, rendering it impossible to initiate a harrier. I keep using rudder to save the plane from tipping to one side. Really frustrating. Any advice thanks
Hi Voro, I also have a pretty large amount of rocking when trying this. Sort of like a dutch roll almost. It seems to be whether im fighting it (gets worse) or if more or less hands off. I just wonder if its anything to do with my set up, (c of g or something?) as I also have no where near as much power as you show, or in other vids Ive seen. I'd be on 1/3rd thrott max. I must simply be doing it wrong ! Any ideas ?
You said post stall but you also said right before it stalls. ??? Post is after. Pre is before. So what is it? Right before it stalls or right after? BIG difference to me... am I wrong? Tell me if iam please! I'm confused!
I just bought phoenix, I cannot get the plane to stop rocking when doing a harrier. very hard to keep stable. should it be that uncontrollable?I have my expo set as i fly my 47 3d hobby extra. any tips on how to set up 3d planes in phoenix? thanks man, great tutorials bro!
Hi, Darrel. It could be a couple of different problems. Upright harrier itself rocks a little bit for awhile. It takes time to master the movements for upright hairier so there is no rocking. The other one is the plane selection on phoenix, I find the Shuriken set to 3d is a great place to start. It doesn't seem to rock very much, it's very realistic. The mini Yak rocks a large amount, I'd shy away from it. Any other questions, I'm happy to answer them. Thanks, Voro
Darrell Daugherty When you find the shuriken in the drop-down list, there will be a little arrow (triangle) that you can click and it will expand into two different versions on the plane. Sport and 3d.
I have been practicing harrier flying using my phoenix rc 5 and an electric Yak 30. How do you get to hover. Is it easier to learn harrier first and than get into hover. I'm harrier flying as I can't land on this ground and just drop down from a harrier to land. Thanks Ron
@VoroRC. Great tutorial as usual. I want to get an RC sim to practice these kinds of maneuvers, can you please say in your experience which is the best sim for this kind of flying. I am looking at Phoenix 5.5, Realflight 7.5, Aerofly RC7 Ultimate. Appreciate your advice if you don't mind
Thanks for watching and supporting! I have really enjoyed flying Phoenix, mostly because its free to upgrade. Just tweek your model a bit, and you're good to go.
The harrier isn't happening "before" the stall or at an AOA less than that of a stall. You're flying around at about a 45° AOA here. That is way beyond the critical AOA of any wing.
Nice tutorial, wondering what are the expo on Rudder, Aileron and Elevator ? I found it is hard to keep a steady and smooth attitude, you use throttle or elevator to keep the attitude ? Thank you.
Neutral C.G is usually the best for 3D. Sure, nose heavy planes will be harder to harrier and tend to wing rock more. Tail heavy is very limiting in terms of general flying and not recommended IMHO.

Yes different planes in phoenix will wing rock differently as they should.
really, very nice flying, I hope to be that good sometime. great videos
hey i really wanted to lern to fly an rc plane on a sim but i cant find one.
wat is yours called?
by the way you are a great pilot

Do you use any special channel mixing for 3d?
What expo/rates do you use here?
Do you set them up in Phoenix, or in your TX?
Thanks.

Have you used expo for controllers? How much %?
My question is when I set my Expo I have three settings on my switch how much Expo do I use on the first switch for 3D
thx for your demonstrations!
Oh right sorry I forgot you were using v4, I'm still in v3, is that version stock in the latest Phoenix?

Nice flying
How did you get this scheme for the shrunken
r u using a game to show this or something else for coms?
I find it very difficult, but if I keep trying, eventually I'll get the hang of it.
Nice video anyways.

Isn't a harrier the same as a hover?
when doing these harriers,do you fly with a balanced plane or are you tail heavy?
What software is this..?
It's the Shuriken, same as I always fly. Just a color skin.

Hey voro you going to be back on Phoenix this evening?
It's possible, what name do you fly with?
The harrier isn't happening "before" the stall or at an AOA less than that of a stall. You're flying around at about a 45° AOA here. That is way beyond the critical AOA of any wing.
Nor is it happening "post" stall
where do you get that model? live 3D
How to settings on radio expo etc
Perfectly Balanced.
as all things should be
What simulator is this?
would this be an easy aerobatic maneuver if you can do rolls loops and inverted?I bought the night visionaire and I really want to do this
Shouldnt be hard at all, especially with a plane only dedicated to 3D....
Rcmodellbau_DE it is pretty easy just cant hold it for that long
+FlyRC why? what does the plane do? it should pretty much do it by itself
Rcmodellbau_DE the wings like to fall, it could just be that i need to give it a little bit more throttle
Just turn off the safe and it should do it
Nice tutorial, wondering what are the expo on Rudder, Aileron and Elevator ? I found it is hard to keep a steady and smooth attitude, you use throttle or elevator to keep the attitude ? Thank you.
What flight simulator is this?
phoenix i think , but i dont know which version..
i meant the color skin
thanks, great
Thanks for the video but just one request. Can you please redo this video in Mode 1. Mode 2 sucks
Can u show the real video of this please
thanks!
I'm trying to actually learn
thank you lot's

2:39 Cat?!

Hey voro, what model is this?
Shurriken.
never mind, found it
wood be a lot better vid with out the music (KILL THE MUSIC)
