Simpson revolutionizes the classic Bandit helmet… literally! The Mod Bandit is a modular version of the iconic Bandit helmet. Using a lightweight composite shell, the Mod Bandit gives riders new options without abandoning the timeless Simpson style. Additional features include tool-free shield removal, an internal sun visor, integrated speaker/boom mic pockets, and dual adjustable chin vents.
RevZilla! I love Anthony's reviews. I am really into research when buying something and he gives a fantastic breakdown. The speed at which he presents is entertaining and informative. Great work.. Thanks for all the help with purchasing.
I ordered one of these helms in Medium, following what he said in this video about them being a size large. I measured my head with a fabric tape measure and according to Simpson's size chart, I would have been a large. I ordered a medium based off this video. Got it today; WAY too small. Extremely tight and nearly impossible to get on my head. Order the size that Simpson says you should be after measuring.
Absolutely. Never let another man tell you what size you need to wear. He isn't wearing your head. I learned the hard way
I'm watching the video and my wife asks. "is that the maroon 5 guy?". LOL.
His gay brother...
The reason
I wear 2x on EVERYTHING! 7 7/8 fitted baseball hats. In this helmet ... I wear a large. AND. I. LOVE. IT!
Thanks for that info, it verifies what Anthony said about the sizing.
Exact same here.. I couldn’t believe it but it’s true.
How is background noise? With earbuds too?
Love Revzilla reviews very helpful.
I don’t even know your name, but that intro is awesome everytime.
Just picked this helmet up at a local shop... excited to try it out..
How are you liking it?
@@ljackson3676 its my 1st helmet that was not a half shell.... overall I'm happy with it... looks great and fairly light for a modular..... would definitely recommend
It should be noted that despite the vents on top it does not flow as much air across the top of the dome as the ghost bandit.
Something to consider if looking for maximum airflow
I was going to buy this over the ghost bandit because of the extra vents as I need a cool helmet.Have you used both?
Great looking modular and surprisingly light
My one complaint as a Mod Bandit owner is there is no Sun Brim to block out sunlight from overhead that might be brighter than what the inner visor can block out. other than that i love it. hopefully they release something of a Sun Shield as Attachment where the main Visor Attaches too .
Duck tape.
I orderd the medium as advised as I'm a large in all my helmets. The fit is perfect except for the sides gets really uncomfortable for me after 30 min of wearing it. I feel a sharp pain on the sides of my head..
Well I wear 58 In centimeters, so should I get a 60 over?
I ordered one over the weekend so I should be getting it soon! Excited!
It's been 8 months. What are your thoughts? A lot of road noise?
Where is it made?
Now that you've owned it for a hot minute. How's it holding up?
I wonder if the mod bandit has ever popped open on impact?🤔
So if I wear a XL in HJC AND SCORPION full face, I messed up ordering a XL in this…? Currently waiting for it to be delivered. TIA
Sizing is the same for the speed bandit as well.get a size lower
Great helmet. I love that it's made in Texas.
I got the carbon fibre ece approved only. It is supposed to have a sticker because mine doesn’t have anything on it.
$500 is a lot of money for a helmet.
Cries in Arai.
Let see a review on the Ruroc Atlas series helmet
Release date 2/27/19
I love that he already talks at 2.5x
How is the background noise. I'm a ear bud guy for long distance.
I’m 60cm , which size would do best do you think?
I tried the super bandit (large was little bet tight and the XL was a bet loose)
Wear the large break it in and you'll be ok, better snug than loose
" Heythisishfhjensjndnnend decide and ride"
from the beginning, ive noticed the left side seems to have a bigger gap....does the chin bar not stay in place when its down? does it rattle? this is especially obvious at around the 7.08 mark... the moment he taps on the top of the helmet, u can see the chin bar opens up slightly
Looking at it, it appears the helmet only latched on the right side, which is why the left side has a gap and opens a bit when the top of the helmet is tapped. When you actually put the helmet on and latch both sides, the gaps are the same, and the chin bar stays secured. -DrewZilla

Old video but does anyone know if that forehead simpson decal is removable?
A tad late, but I just bought this helmet. ALL stickers came off very easily and left zero glue residue.
I have an Outlaw Bandit. Love it but I get a really bad hot spot on my forehead (Size M). The large is too big. I want to buy the Mod Bandit but I need something I can keep on my head for hours a time without getting that bad hot spot. Any recommendations?
Shoei
Is anybody wearing glasses with a helmet like this? I've been looking for a good helmet for people who wear glasses. Also been looking at the venom solid face but glasses have always been an issue.
What's with the Christmas gifts in the background? It's February.
Ray Wolfwinski he stated “fall 2018” around the two minute mark, just late video
How comfortable is this helmet? I had neck surgery and I am concerned that it may be heavy after a few hours of riding
If weight is your concern than any modular will be heavier. That said, from personal experience this helmet can feel heavy at highway speeds after a while. I might suggest something more lightweight and aerodynamic for you like the RF1200:

-Zack
@@RevZilla is the RF1200 a modular or full face?
@@victorrios5259 full face
So if im a 7 1/4 hat, i need a small in this lid?
It’s best to get the measurement that Simpson provides on their size chart vs a hat size for the best accuracy, but yeah you’d likely be around a Small. Best to measure and check before ordering though.
@@RevZilla any idea when you'll have those restocked? Seems like everywhere is sold out.
No date just yet, but once Simpson has more in the US we will have the inventory as well. If you leave your email on the product page our system will automatically notify you once they arrive.
@@RevZilla Appreciate it. Thank you.
Can you change out the sun visor to clear ?
Yes
Hey guys! @revzilla I’m M in Bell helmets. What size should I get? Thanks!
Can the mouth vents close
Yes the chin vents can close from the inside of the chin bar.
How is the road noise on this helmet ??
Honestly it's about average. The quietest modular helmets are the Schuberth C3 Pro, C4 Pro, and Shoei Neotec 2, but of course those don't have the same look as the Simpson. -DrewZilla
*bit.ly/ModHelmets
This is my first modular, (also my first full face) i think it's fairly loud, but i really don't have anything to compare it to.
Fuck now I don’t know what size to get....
Whoa it's Anthony. Btw when can we expect a review on the Shoei GTAir-II?
I'm 57cm medium, which size would be best do you think?
I would recommend a size medium as that measurement lands right in the middle of that size range for this helmet. -Luke
RevZilla I’m 60cm large or XL,which size would be best do you think?)
The left side of the helmet has a larger gap then the right side at the seam. Not convinced this is a premium helmet.
He just didn't close the chin bar all the way. When it's fully closed, it's the same. -DrewZilla
How do you like this vs neotec 2?
I have both. The Neotec 2 is quieter and is the most comfortable thing I’ve ever had on my head. However the Mod Bandit is super light and still very comfortable. It is certainly louder but to be fair the Shoei is ULTRA quiet. Hope that helps
I’ll just say my piece.
Mod helmets are too front heavy and look silly when open.
I rock a Simpsons M30 it’s the lightest and most compact helmet.
Light weight over Modular any day.
Very nice helmet. does the white one come with the gold visor?
Unfortunately, no. All colors only come with a clear face shield. All tinted visors are sold separately. -DrewZilla
*www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/simpson-mod-bandit-helmet
The Valentino Liberace tribute model comes out later this year.
Ok Zilla nation how does this compare to the Schuberth E1?
For the extra money, the Schuberth is quieter, has a bit more venting adjustment, a slightly better sun visor mechanism, and a bit nicer liner. -DrewZilla
Can we close the front vents for winter riding?
Yes, the front vents are controlled by sliders on the inside of the chin, so you can close them if it is getting a bit too cold out.
@@patrickmchugh8039 do you know if the sliders close also the 3 vents on the side of the chin bar, or only the 2 on the front? I'm thinking of buying this helmet but I ride in rain often so need fully closable helmet.
@@CyrilHelnwein If I recall correctly, the side vents stay open all the time and the trigger only closes the front two vertical vents. -Pat
@@patrickmchugh8039 I just checked with Simpson HQ - they say the vents on the front are intakes and the vent on the side are the exhausts. You can close the side ones but the front remains open. However this supposedly is not a problem in rain as the front channels to the exhaust vent. I’ve gone ahead and ordered one, we shall see...
@@CyrilHelnwein Sounds good man, hopefully it is what you're after. To me, any vent facing forward (like those side vents) take more air in than they exhaust, but to each their own. Keep an eye on the gasket seal at the face shield for any water intrusion too. Even a good gasket has trouble with rain at highway speeds.
Also, for what its worth from someone who rides in way too much gear in every climate: water finds a way into everything/anything. If not through the vents, it'll run down the back of your neck. If not through the top of the jacket, through the bottom between the jacket and the pants. Its good to mitigate rain entry but I always plan on getting somewhat wet/cold and pack dry shirts/base layers and swap whenever I can change into them. Just my 2 cents though. Hopefully this helmet is what you are after. Enjoy your weekend and your ride! -Pat
Trust me get a size smaller
Whats your head circumference?
Noisy helmet and feels cheap. I own one. But it looks cool
Is this ECE rated as well, or just DOT?
If it's ECE, pretty sure I just found my next helmet
I'm interested as well. Might have to wait till it comes to the UK and purchase from there. I'm from Australia btw.
@@UhYeahWhateverDude you're right. After re-watching, manage to catch a glimpse of the E mark tab on the chin strap. Thank you.
Yes, this helmet is both DOT and ECE rated. As pointed out in the other comments below, the helmet does have both the sticker on the rear of the helmet as well as the country of origin on the chin strap, as both are required to be fully ECE certified.
So they made a loud helmat even louder and now you have to spend premium for another over priced visor.
good helmet, very very noisy
Why do yanks talk so bloody fast?
FIRST
Talks to fast
You can slow it down..
He talks too fast for some viewers
Some viewers can show down video playback then. I think it's fine as is.
You can slow down the videos in 25% increments.
this guy seriously needs to slow down when he talks.
Dustin Degenhardt listen faster.
So if I wear a XL in HJC AND SCORPION full face, I messed up ordering a XL in this…? Currently waiting for it to be delivered. TIA
