I laughed when you mentioned the engine noise from the skid plate. I recently purchased a tw with the same skid plate and the first thing I noticed was how much engine noise there was.
Thank you!! It works. I'm going to redo with mat all the way to the edges then seal the edges. Only issue is getting mud and small rocks trapped. But that's fixable too. Let me know how it goes for you..
That Was Pretty Good, Man! Yeah, At 5:50 You Talk About Dropping It Off A Cliff & That Made Me Think Of Timerider! I'm Saving This Video, In Case I Ever Get One.
Was there much to do with cable routing, wiring to fit the protaper woods bend high bars and the risers. Thanks for the video it was informative and I enjoyed watching.
I just rerouted the clutch cable, no issues. It's long enough with Woods High and Rox 2" Risers. I'd buy again. I think I put a link for the bars in the video description. Thanks for the comment and watching DSA!
The first mod should ALWAYS be replacing the front tire (the DethWing) with Shinko 241. It will save you from dumping your bike on a rain slick road in a sharp turn.
Skip the 241.. if you offroad. It's not a tire that would touch this bike again for dirt. It's a great road tire, loved it there. Offroad fronts - M5B EVO and JX8 Gekkota proved out for beyond my skill. Thanks for the comment.
It has a deflection issue, lots of bar wag. I didn't know it did that until I replaced it with the M5B EVO and the wagging ended. Also I haven't dumped it since it's been off, 1yr now. It's designed for 3 to 5psi, at 8 plus it's operating outside of design. Much better is out there. If you're mostly offroad spend a few bucks try something else. M5B is kinda heavy, but it's really good. JX8 Gekkota on a wash instantly grabs again, to get it to wash you really have to be doing something. I read the forums on the 241 like everyone else, but they should attach a riding video with the review. Are they going to Walgreens or hammering offroad? I'm not a fan, much, much better is out there. Thanks
Thanks... Pain in the ass getting the rear on, but 200% worth it. Front is currently an IRC JX8 Gekkota Hard Enduro Tire, rear is a very solid Tyre Guider Atlas.
I've got one video up about this and I filmed a follow-up that will be up soon. Front IRC M5b EVO 130 80 18, Rear Tyre Guider Atlas 26x8x14. It's a trail setup, limited road. Thanks for watching!
Hey sir, did you have to purchase extended throttle cable, clutch cable and a longer brake line due to the handlebar rise?!?! I’m looking to put the same bars on my tw. Thanks !
OEM cables work, reroute the clutch cable. I may have done the same with the front break, but don't remember doing it. Your stock cables are long enough for sure. Thanks for watching..
Try out some Progrip 714's, they're thick gel handlebar grips and are really nice. I put them on my first dual sport and liked them so much I bought them again when I got my 2nd dual sport
I'm going to make another mod video to update. If I can I'll give better details. I've been waiting for negative Temps that keep me off the bike. Thanks for watching DSA!
Pro Taper Woods High bars are aluminum alloy. I said steel in the video, stock bars are steel. So reverse that...
Spray on Truck bed liner would fix the skid plate.
I laughed when you mentioned the engine noise from the skid plate. I recently purchased a tw with the same skid plate and the first thing I noticed was how much engine noise there was.
I just tested out my HippoHands Backcountry wind-stoppers while in some cold temps and rain in Idaho. Totally worth the price.
Good to know... Thanks.
Been looking forward to this series from you, thanks.
I made 4 mod videos, here's 1# for ya.
I think you'll find that you get way more views on mod videos, these are great. Thanks!
Thanks..
@@dualsportapocalypse Yeah, a self-cancelling turn-signal mod would be perfect for you! ; )
Nice Mods! Great heads up and remedy for the skid plate noise.

Great looking T-Dub! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thanks.. I need to update with a new mod video, a few more added..
I wish Yamaha would make a TW 300. Keep the bike as is, just drop a 300cc motor in it
I'd take it! Would be plenty of power.
Wouldn't be that difficult to bore the 200 out a bit.
That Was Pretty Good, Man! Yeah, At 5:50 You Talk About Dropping It Off A Cliff & That Made Me Think Of Timerider! I'm Saving This Video, In Case I Ever Get One.
It's pretty tough, it'll take a pretty hard hit to bend or break.

Nice work on the bike can’t wait to get mine ,thanks for the great video.
Thank you!
I went with a IMS shifter 13114. Didn’t care for the stock one. Much more positive shifting and looks great with the IMS super stock foot pegs.
Is that shifter any longer than the stock?
I probably won't be changing the shifter. I need it as tight to the bike as I can get it for bushwacking and if I bend it it's easy to bend back.
@@hazcat640 it is a little bit longer. I like that too.
I doubt that plate is made out of 5/16 alum. Prob more like 1/4 or 3/16. Sure doesn’t look like 5/16
I've been looking for a video regarding the performance difference in the Big Bore and stock.
I'm stock engine with external mods. That would be a question for Yamaha TW200 forum. Thanks

Try rubberized under coating on the skid plate
My thought, too
That's a good idea, anything to cut that reflected noise do it! Thanks
So what is the Brand of the hand guards and where you can buy them? The metal looks solid! Thanks for your help👍

I just bought 2020 i realy like all your upgrades and would like to know where to buy I live in northern ontario

@@dualsportapocalypse Heavy tires don't bother. I'll take a look at the M5B EVO.
It's a great tire, I've taken very hard 90* turns with it. It's not on my bike currently, but I'd put it back on.
Crazy offroad tires bro. lol

They ride better than I have the skill to push them. Thanks
I wanna hear about that exhaust and what kind of jetting you had to do
It's in an Upcoming video.
I'm curious about your tire upgrade, sir

Yes, and no dumb questions. I started at zero...
I'm currently running an IRC JX8 Gekkota front, 110 -100 -18. Just made a video.
That is nice. Did the bigger tires hurt the mph
You'll need to run a 55t rear sprocket to balance it out. Very similar speeds.

Never had any issue with the size of foot pegs. They are small so you don't kock your ankles when you dog walk it.
Thanks for the info..
sounds like a damn tractor
None of that necessary
