  • On a nice summer day I set out for an adventure to explore some high up places. An adventure is for sure what I got, maybe a bit more than I bargained for. But many times it's the struggles that bring you to the best destinations far away from it all. Sometimes with beautiful sunrises.
Whatever you do, make it an Adventure.

WOW.... I am afraid of heights and the road scared the nonsense out of me watching you go by the cliffs, but when you came to the snow and the bike slipped..... I would have left the bike behind, changed my underwear and walked back down the mountain. NO WAY could I have done that and I'm well over 60 y.o.
I had a similar thing happen to me on a quad in Nevada and I will NOT do things like that EVER again. I was ready to let $8,000 roll off the edge. Had it not been for others to bail me out... it would be at the bottom in a million pieces.
Of course I was the "JOKE" all weekend and am usually mentioned at all the campfire stories... so it worked out. I didn't die and everyone has got a great story to laugh at around the campfire!!!
Keep safe my friend, KEEP SAFE!!! Thanks for sharing...

haha yeah it's pretty steep on that side of the mountain. yeah it just looked like I could do it but didn't realize how much the rocks would slide down like that
dang, yeah quad on something like that is terrifying. they would just roll to the bottom, bikes will usually dig in unless it's really really steep. glad you did ok

So much to like in this video, TDK. Your upbeat and snappy banter, the Epic approach to and ascent up the peak (great drone and camera work), then the capper, the near catastrophic traverse of the scree field, the genius use of your recovery system to escape and then the angst inducing revelation that you would have to recross it to get out. I have to agree with those who have said this is the best motocamping yet. More adventurous than Indiana Jones! It’s meager pay, but please accept my “like” as thanks for all your hard work and sharing some of yourself and your adventures. Great job.

Reminds me of riding in western Idaho. Not trying to be a backseat rider, but when you come up on a sketchy obstacle like that snow pack, you can’t creep through it. Stop, size it up, then hammer on the throttle and carry as much momentum as possible. Trust your bike to get you out of there.

Staying positive on a motorcycle is life and death sometimes because you need to stay focused and not lose your cool when the road is sketchy or your bike is needing fixing or you just dump it. The other day my dad was with me freaking out because we took a really bumpy gravel road and we where sliding around everywhere but we lived and our bikes are fine. Moral of the story is even a bad day is a good day on a motorcycle.

These millions of miles of trails are calling me!! 10-12 days more before I finish this job and get paid and I will have a bike IMMEDIATELY. Looking daily. Any advice on what to get? Im 220lbs 6ft with 31 inch midseam. I owned a 1979 YZ250 when I was kid and had a TTR225 that just got sold before I moved. TTR was a dog. Want something a little more spunky.

When I was riding dirt in the 70's I was lucky enough to get to know an observed trials rider. He taught me a lot of trials riding techniques that really improved my trail riding, and kept me safer in some tight spots. If you have the opportunity to go to an observed trials event and meet up with some of the riders they might have a beginners class that could help you like I was taught. There is a trials club somewhere in Colorado. Just search Colorado motorcycle trials, or Rocky Mountain motorcycle trials. The moto trials community is full of great people. Good luck with your adventures and stay safe on the trails!

Good video...it often helps in sticky situations to remember a motorcycle is a system of gyroscopes....the faster they spin the more stability they add.
I believe I would have rolled in with enough speed to keep my feet on pegs where they belong...that and a high visual horizon can add confidance..
It was a good adventure....one that most "adventure" bikes would be hard pressed at duplicating.👍🏻😃

Nice video TDubsKid!!! I am a huge fan of you although you can be my son. I always wanted to own the Yamaha TW200 and after 30 years of knowing the dual sport motorcycle, last year after following you on your youtube videos and adventures I visited my local Yamaha dealer and purchased a brand new 2019 TW200 in black and tan color. After watching your instructional videos I changed the stock muffler to the same one you have the D2. I am 48 from NYC. I hope to someday travel to where you are to meet you in person. I believe I am the biggest and the most overweight owner of a TW200 and the motorcycle still handles super well. My weight is 360lbs and my ride here in and around NYC is unaffected.
