Big props for focussing on BCs magic. Most residents never make it onto two-track to discover the amazing things the west coast has hidden up it’s sleeves.
I am torn on the prospect. Typically the people who make it out to these remote spots are awesome people who have a lot of respect for others and what these places mean because they love them. Once some place becomes instagram famous you get a few new people like the first group but often a lot of others who care about themselves only and showing others their "experience". They don't often have the same respect because it doesn't mean as much to them.
That was the 'gateway drug' for me! Back in 1973, seven year old me traded some Partridge Family trading cards, an erector set I found in the trash, and $1.45 for a rolling minibike frame, I then pushed it the five blocks home. I couldn't even ride a bicycle yet. My Dad laughed, but he saw how serious I was so we proceeded to strip it down, repaint it, and recover the seat over that whole summer, hoping to find a decent motor. It took a year, but my scoot was finally loaded with a 3 hp Briggs and ready to roll. I rode the wheels right off it until selling it to buy a used YZ80 Yamaha some time later. 😊
Me too, except I got a Villers 98cc two stroke from a lawn mower, I used to get an electric shock off the exposed spark plug cap on my leg as I thrashed it around the neighbourhood, which started my cordial relations with the local constabulary.
Fantastic cinematography really does justice to the stunning scenery. Superb! If there was an Oscar category for best RUclips video, Fortnine's productions would scoop the awards, no question!
Back a few years, in the late oughts or the early 10's there was a small company in Scotts Valley, CA called Mini Bike World. They clearly liked mini bikes. So much so that they made their own, though it should probably be called a micro bike. It was styled after ones like yours and it was called The Flea. It was about half the size of a classic like yours and ran on nine inch Primo wheels. I worked at a local motorcycle shop which I shall not name due to personal differences. I was given the frames, forks, seats, wheels, brakes, and engines. The engines were 50cc "Clean burning." weed whacker engines. It was my job to order all of the necessary nuts, bolts and washers to put together the first, and I believe only, fifty Flea Micro Mini bikes. And I did so. The engines had bright orange covers, so I had my personal cover powder coated black to match my frame. It's the only all black bike in the run. Part of the job was stamping in the serial numbers. Mine, if I recall correctly, says "Big Bird Custom."

After decades of building drag bike engines, doing machine work, drag racing my own bikes I reached a point of burnout and stepped away. After about 15 years or so the bug started biting again but now the finances dictated a different approach. I started off fixing up a 1082 Honda XL185S. It was fun, and very practical for where I live. But it just didn't scratch that itch. Then a friend of mine asked if I knew anyone that would buy his Massimo Baja Warrior MB200 minibike. It's a big tire and large frame unit with telescopic hydraulic front forks but no rear suspension. It had a new Predator 212, a new "Torque Converter " CVT and new tires. His daughter rode it twice and said it was too rough riding. He wanted $300. I decided to get it. Initially it would go about 34 mph but would reach that speed very quickly. I modified a few things, played with sprockets, all stuff I could do for almost zero money, just knowledge. I got it up to 55 mph but sensed that was about the limit without spending some serious cash. Since I planed on 10-20 mile rides to a buddy's place on 2 lane black top (Farm to Market Roads) where the speed limit is 60-65 mph I knew this would not do at all. Then I lucked into a Briggs and Stratton 16 hp Vanguard Vtwin (479cc), traded for an old McCullough 2KW generator. With a few modifications (34mm D slide Mikuni, fabricated intake, 28lb valve springs, free flowing exhaust, mild port and polish work on the heads, and some sprocket changes) I now have a minibike that accelerates really hard, tops out st 80 mph, cruises comfortably at 65 for 20 miles or more, has a lot less vibration than the Predator 212cc, and so far has been extremely reliable. I've got almost 2.5 years riding it ( almost 4K miles) and it gets about 47 mpg if I keep it under 65 mph. I've collected 2 more chassis. I'm contemplating a 5 speed transmission installation since I already have the transmission. The cool thing about this type of project is that it was a cheap Chinese minibike that really wasn't worth as much as the engine, tires, and Torque Converter that were in it when I bought it so whatever I do to it, whatever happens to it I won't be destroying something that has real value or is a cool piece of history. If anyone is interested in seeing this minibike I have a 36 second video of me doing a smokey burnout and a high speed fly by on my RUclips channel.

That song in the middle verrry nearly took me out of it, was not expecting that. That was a ton of fun to watch. Very visually appealing with an exploratory vibe. B.C. looks breathtaking.
I had a similar size minibike in the 1970’s. Rode it up and down the sidewalks in my neighbourhood for 15 minutes at a time and then hid it. Sat on the curb and watched the cops come by looking for ‘a kid riding a minibike’. Never caught. Life long riding motorcycle . Motorcycles saved my life! Else I would be a boring person.

Can't recall your videographer/cinematographers name and he knows this, but this is stunning. The framing is just perfect, besides a few blown out highlights in the drone shots (amazing he even got all that), everything is just perfect, light and audio. I kinda hope the bear is stock though otherwise, it's just too crazy, haha. I bet studio type people wouldn't believe this was a one man gig or at least a really tiny crew. They just don't know how much can be done when you travel light and know your stuff. That said, not everyone can do it, but man, you guys can. I do hope you get to go shoot something really big and incredibly well paid some day. Though, I wouldn't be surprised if you'd feel hamstrung;)

There is a legendary story from my country. One day, an uncle riding a bike while carry a gunny sack trying to cross country. Policeman always stop the uncle while performing check, which can be thoroughly until at a level whereby the policeman need to stab the gunny sack with bayonet. The policeman couldnt find anything from it. Long short story, when the policeman retired, he ask the uncle what he is trying smuggle to the other country by crossing the bridge. And guess what? The uncle heartly told the policeman, “I am smuggling the bike” Moral of the story, step to become a mechanic, is indeed a person who can disassemble and reassemble bike. In the same way that Rob showed us all that cars are so often far greater than the sum of their parts, he showed us a man can be greater than the short time he draws breath. Thanks to this medium, his stories, his clearly earnest passion, can echo on with those like me; blessed to hear them without ever truly knowing the man. I am truly sad, and such can’t imagine what those closest to him are feeling. RIP Rabbit.

I’ve come to appreciate sometimes it’s 30% motorcycle 70% journey and that’s ok. Beautifully shot and produced. Every single scene is so well composed. Making even assembling a mini bike look gorgeous.
Glad he survived. I wonder what is the lifespan of a clone in the wild?
Depends on how fast the DNA breaks down, usually slower the colder you keep them.
Oh no, the hotsprings 😮
I still don’t own a motorbike, but your channel is one of my favorite and probably who I can blame when I do end up buying one. Thanks for making such amazing, high quality, and enjoyable content.
Edwin El Bainou, you have created a triumph! Not the Triumph motorcycle, this film. directed, edited and original music by YOU!! Very well done indeed!
Bro I just want to say this, Your showmanship is like nothing out there, Your Visual Story telling techniques are out of this world. As someone who works in Media I take my hat of for your amazing Talent, you would be able to make movies like David Fincher keeping people captivated. Hollywood need you.
I watch this as i pack for a week of bikepacking in the same general area.
The minibike content took me back to memory of a Taco minibike i rode the wheels off of in the 70's.
I think i know how next years Fall trip will roll out....
Never realized how much I enjoy watching some just be as Canadian as possible. Loved it.
A mesmerizing new segment:
#45‘s amphibious adventures 🎉
Big props to the videographer/editor for a beautifully shot video. And 45 too.
It’s never just a vlog; it’s a….well crafted, HIGH production value near movie. Epic imagery and post work.
You know your channel is awesome when other awesome channels are watching and commenting!
My first $ transaction was selling my totegoat to a sheep farmer when I got my hodaka ace 90. I was 9. Loved that mini bike. Going to watch again, too many memories to pay attention.
45 I gotta say I love your work. It I want to give huge props to your man riding a bicycle apparently and doing all this amazing camera work. The unsung heroes of ya’lls amazing videos. They deserve credit.
These videos are pure irreverent brilliance. I feel like I probably should buy a pair of sunglasses in support of this awesome nonsense. And what could be more stylish than sporting a pair of flying eyes on my next flying W
I know this channel gets a lot of comparisons to Top Gear, but with the final episode airing this weekend, this feels like a loving tribute to those adventures. Bravo gents.
Ryan is either going to have to start putting out more videos, or he's going to have to hunt-down and terminate #45, because these are really good pieces. Keep up the great work! 🚲🌀
This 45 video is bloody fire! Nothing else to add.
Every shot is so beautiful, 45 is a great personality on screen (I'm sure he's great off screen too). Love the growth this channel continues to have over the years (remember the Kawasaki X300 review? That already felt like a movie)
Wait how did the camera guy get around?
Loved this. Started out my two wheel riding on a 2.5 HP mini bike over 50 years ago. Beautiful scenery and great story line. Thanks for sharing your adventure!
This is a short film. ❤
Editing and production perfection, passion into the music, Edwin nailed it ! So many logging roads, so many big logging trucks, so they say anyways!
Really digging the 45 video's.
I love the symbolism behind 46 doing the Flying-Eyes commercial while 45 is relaxing in a hot spring.
the XAI900T feels like one of those things you don't know you need until you see it in action.
What a masterpiece of a video, some of the best cinematography i've ever seen on youtube tied together with a masterful original score and editing by the same person?? Underappreciated to all hell, amazing work.
The way he struggled to start the engine was the essence of Canadian patience 💪
I usually don’t unleash the rage until the rope snaps.
#45: you’ve really found your own style in the last few vids and I’m loving it 👌🏻
i want to be there so bad, damn what a beautiful country you have with this vast amount of freedom
That brought back lawnmower flashbacks😊great trip!
one of the best ad placements in a youtube video
Loved the cinematography. Seeing the surroundings and old logging boats reminded me of Bruno, Relic, Jessie etc. on The Beachcombers show I watched growing up.
The uncle heartly told the policeman, “I am smuggling the bike”
Moral of the story, step to become a mechanic, is indeed a person who can disassemble and reassemble bike. You become a better mechanic.
I just love those two-stroke Briggs & Stratton
The engine starting reminded me of one thing: Look kids, Big Ben, Parliament...Big Ben, Parliament...Big Ben, Parliament...
That lighting when putting the bike together is incredible!
8:15 How wild is it that F9 found a perfect song in the public domain? It's almost like it was written for them.
This remake of Dances with Wolves far exceeded my most imaginative expectations. I can't wait until FortNine does a remake of To Kill a Mockingbird.
Perfect bike for when you need to compensate in the opposite direction
The delivery of that "regert" was *extremely* smooth, kudos
Now do it again, but this time smuggle a Honda C90 into columbia.
Anyone that does that is certifiably mad.
@@c90adventures At least he aint gotta worry about customs haha
@@hiredgoon4269 Yeah that was an interesting conversation.
"You can't bring a motorcycle into Colombia through this port"
"But I have, and it's there".
*Points to motorcycle parked outside the official's window*
As at most Ivy League schools, you can just drive a C90 right onto Columbia’s campus.
@@c90adventures fckn legend Ed
Dang...Short film about one little funny thing, which is...not even scooter or motorcycle, just moving vehicle on 2 wheels and so many shoots that even David Attenborough will be jealous :D Brilliant work.
you're not on a two stroke.
that black bear rock leap was fantastic. I was up there a couple of months ago and got some shots of several different bears but nothing as cool as that. Would have loved to have been there to hear your comments after you got that shot. I am sure it was a pretty epic experience.
Should have brought the new guy with his e-mtb, maybe for a surprise cameo.
Minibikin' Ain't Eazy yall. Good work.
9 second's ago is diabolical
Mini bike adventures are underrated. I've got a 1974 KV75 I restored that gets taken with me camping the Aussie bush. Been places you couldn't imagine, slower than ever but fun as anything. Great video as always.
I’m missing something how is it possible that there are roads build by trucks in an inaccessible area you can’t get to but on a boat or a sketchy hike?
RUclips videos are the new "Reality TV" where everything is a lie for content.
I love how you're just as, if not *more* iconic than Ryan, and you're literally a clone.
We love you, 45. Never change. (pretty sure you can't)
9:35:
I’ve heard it called lots of things but “scoot the motor forward and back”
⬅️✊➡️ is a new one!🤭😂
In the same way that Rob showed us all that cars are so often far greater than the sum of their parts, he showed us a man can be greater than the short time he draws breath. Thanks to this medium, his stories, his clearly earnest passion, can echo on with those like me; blessed to hear them without ever truly knowing the man. I am truly sad, and such can’t imagine what those closest to him are feeling.
RIP Rabbit.
I lost track of the clone lore. 45s the new presenter but isnt 44 still out there somewhere plotting revenge?
Didn't 44 mix the chemicals in the wrong order?
Fantastic! I love this channel. Superb cinematography, a fun soundtrack and you just convinced me to get a minibike. BC looks like bike heaven. It's 4 times the size of England, bloody hell. You got me thinking, 45!
