    • @kitkatkay4410
      @kitkatkay4410 8 лет назад +15

      Green Draws practicing isn't the only way to improve art, there are other things than just practicing. People need to call out their own or other's mistakes (criticism). Another way is to look at tutorials from professionals, see what they did right that you did wrong then you practice. Also sorry for the long response.

    Okay, serious question. How do you stop yourself from being so self critical and not care so much about how aesthetically pleasing a drawing is for everyone else?? Because i would never think to draw someone with a nose like how you draw them. i am afraid to draw big/wide noses (even though i have a big nose XD) because I'm afraid it won't look cute like the little ones. and if a face isn't pointed or skinny i won't like it either. so any advice on loving all different shapes and sizes and not caring about how "not cute" it looks?

    I've noticed something...A lot of artist use this very bubbly, soft art style like you but it varies from the very cartoonish to the almost realistic....You tend to use the very realistic side with using shading to match the cartoonish-ness of your art....but the thing is...Lots and I mean LOTS of people use this style but I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY?! I've tried and triiiied to match this art style but I just...can't!!! I've done a study on this style for a year and half and I can't even get a basic head shape in this style! I know everything about it, down to the smallest details like the nostril shape on the noses! I've even tried breaking down the art pieces to their basic shaped and tried that and got nowhere! I've started to consider giving up on trying but I just...can't. It's probably the most simplistic looking art style there is yet it's so hard to actually draw in! It's so beautiful and I love it soooooo much but no matter how hard I try it feels like I'm getting nowhere with it! My art style is pretty stylized so I usually don't have a problem with things like that but...I have no idea why I such a problem with it....As a result I just have a sketch book filled with all my failed attempts at this style....Very few of them in my opinion look even decent...It's gotten to the point where if I attempt this style I get stuck in art block and can't even draw in my usual style! I'm just stuck at this point and have no idea what to do...I was hoping someone, anyone would read this and have any idea of what I'm going though and can maybe help due to past experience or...something! I'm just void of ideas at this point so even the littlest of advice would work...

    • @aqsa7989
      @aqsa7989 8 лет назад +6

      I can relate, I see very similar art styles used by experienced artists.
      I have to say, those styles are pretty eye pleasing theyre very expressive and it seems that people are just drawn to that style (pun intended) might be a bit overrated but even i cant get enough of it.
      however its not something you have to follow. and tbh, from someone whos tried, it might
      look super simple but its not easy if youre trying to copy it, especially if youre trying to copy it by "breaking it down".
      you over think their style, like you said its bubbly and soft which means it just flows.
      look at her more cartoonish drawings in the video and you can see these simple one stroked curves. its about the flow from your head to your hand from your hand to your pen and your pen to the paper. do not get dragged down by the thought that you have to match their style completely. and you have tried so thats better than just staring at it and wishing you could do the same. theyre not failed attempts its progression!
      My advice would be relax my dude breathe take a break dont stare at other art too often. when you get this art block look else where. you shouldnt overthink when it comes to art you should allow it to just flow naturally. maybe youre forcing yourself too quickly. slow down and draw things that please you in your own style and then go back to the style you want to achieve. use references of real pictures and stylized drawings. but dont force yourself to pick it up.
      everyone progresses and learns at different paces. stay positive that youre even trying.
      this probably isnt good advice im sorry but definately take your time dont overthink it

      Honey Senpai I don't know I'm sorry I have had problems like this just not with this art style and I just stopped trying with that style and truest to make up my own style and i like even more than the other one

    • @freiacollard5208
      @freiacollard5208 7 лет назад +1

      Honey Senpai if you deeply want to do it and succeed, you should carry on. But, do you? I mean like you said a lot of people use this style and I personally think that it's better to develop one on your own and have a unique one

    • @yonasfarah1186
      @yonasfarah1186 7 лет назад +1

      Honey Senpai i'm not saying you can't do it, I just think it's not your art style. If you do want to find your art style you should try to replicate others art styles, and if one works for you improvise and experiment with it! And who knows it might work for you.

    You should go on a podcast show called Your Creative Push to show your insight on how you go about creating constantly. The amount of work you created is nothing short of inspiring to many artists and would-be artist alike.

    You're such an inspiration to me and all jokes aside, this really helped me improve and get past a creative block. You probably won't look at this but it's nice to give compliments. ❤️

    If you are a crazy person, as I apparently am, the girl in the water at 1:58 references Woman in Water with Hair in Handkerchief by Harrison Fisher , the cover of the Standard Evening Post July 25, 1908. The man on the opposite page references Narcissus, the Near-Poet by J.C. Leyendecker from July 20, 1907. All of the old covers can be viewed on the Standard Evening Post's website, but you have to be a subscriber to see them full size.
