This story is so sentimental to me. My older sister is named Sage and I was born when she was 10 too! It reminded me how much my sister has sacrificed for my well-being. I can't wait to hear and see more about these characters

Seeing the illustrations as you told the story was such an amazing experience and I loved the sketchyness of the drawings (plus the colour scheme just suits the sad tone of the story really well) I can't believe I'm ready to cry for characters I've only known for 20 minutes. I'm not gonna analyse the story or anything but you seem to have an intimate knowledge of what going through a terminal illness (or knowing someone who is) feels like.

I love how you’re putting more animals in your artwork. I was watching an old video earlier today, and you said you wanted to work on animals more. I’m glad you’re doing it more! I also have another alternate ending to your story. After the cat takes her pain, it slowly dies(without jumping in Sage’s body), and without help from the cat, hyacinth gets sick again. Then sage sacrifices herself so her sister can be better again, once and for all.

I know it's been nearly two years, so it's really weird to comment on this, but i had some ideas for your all black character: maybe using white line art, or if that's too light then a grey gel pen? alternatively, maybe using very dark greys or dark blues/purples so that you could get more depth and variation and still be able to use a pure black for detail work? Personally, I think a stark gel pen for detail work would look really nice, but I realize it may not suit the vibe you're going for.

I have also done traditional art in the past where light reflected off him in a sunset, so I can probably play around more with lighting and purple colors. I’m drawing *crappy* fan art and creating my own version of what could happen next. In my head, during Sage’s beautiful self sacrifice on the other hand Hyacinth is jealous of her older sister’s health. The cat goes to Hyacinth at the same time asking if she wants Sage to feel pain so Hyacinth can live another day. Hyacinth agrees many times and notices the stars on Sage’s face growing each time she agrees to live. Prior to Sage being taken over by the cat, the cat asked if Hyacinth would like to never feel pain again and if she agrees, she can be like her older sister. Hyacinth agrees and when she wakes, she is now the same age as Sage while Sage is so stuck in a void that she has not aged at all. The cat offers for Hyacinth to have the dormant magical powers of her older sister if she agrees to love and acknowledge the cat just like she would Sage. She begins to hesitate as she notices a star appears on her own body. She starts to put the pieces together that she, (like her sister), was tricked by the cat and tries to figure out a way to reverse the damage both of them have caused. I know I’m likely way off but I am so excited to see what happens next!!!

I have also done traditional art in the past where light reflected off him in a sunset, so I can probably play around more with lighting and purple colors. I’m drawing *crappy* fan art and creating my own version of what could happen next.
In my head, during Sage’s beautiful self sacrifice on the other hand Hyacinth is jealous of her older sister’s health. The cat goes to Hyacinth at the same time asking if she wants Sage to feel pain so Hyacinth can live another day. Hyacinth agrees many times and notices the stars on Sage’s face growing each time she agrees to live. Prior to Sage being taken over by the cat, the cat asked if Hyacinth would like to never feel pain again and if she agrees, she can be like her older sister. Hyacinth agrees and when she wakes, she is now the same age as Sage while Sage is so stuck in a void that she has not aged at all. The cat offers for Hyacinth to have the dormant magical powers of her older sister if she agrees to love and acknowledge the cat just like she would Sage. She begins to hesitate as she notices a star appears on her own body. She starts to put the pieces together that she, (like her sister), was tricked by the cat and tries to figure out a way to reverse the damage both of them have caused.
I know I’m likely way off but I am so excited to see what happens next!!!
wAIT BUT NOW I WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT IN YOUR STORY, TOO. XD I dunno if this is the direction Waffles will go, but this can totally be a fanfic of an alternate ending or something!!!

this was actually so soothing and fun to listen to u really captivated me I was listening to this while making art I just love this MAKE MOREEEEEE this also very heartfelt in a way all she's trying to do is protect her younger sister who doesn't know what is going on and sage has to go through so much pain and shock for this oml- this is actually rlly good u have more skill then anyone I've ever known of no wonder your one of my favorite animators you and szin are my fave animators mwaaa ~ also PLS CONTINUE DE STORY and make moreeeeeee
My little sister just headed off to University this month and I miss her so so much and my cat is now my only buddy but I’m fairly sure she’s not a little demon witch kitty so I should be all good 😅 love the art Rin!

aaaahhhhh i remember these two so well!! that sketchbook tour inspired me to finally write down the plot of my witch comic and develop my two herbal witch sisters Juniper and sprout more. the coincidental similarities inspired me so much, that i began the comic thats in my head since like... 10 years? thanks you so much, Rin, for always being you and an inspiration to others
