this is an awesome video! i like that you make it with a worn car so you can show what a real job would be like. its not all clean and you show the difficulties that can come from a normal use of a car
I like this video. Thank you for getting to the point and not being a goober who talks for 20 minutes about everything else in the world before actually getting to the fix.
Oh my God, I love you! My car is having exact same problem 2008 Chevy Impala LT! I was too scared to drive it, didn't know what was wrong but now I do thanks to you! I remember I got my brakes fixed 3 weeks ago and the dealership did tell me that my wheel bearing may be going bad. Thank you so much for sharing, I'm not going to start following you from now on!
They might tampered with the sensor while fixing d brakes. I changed my struts and mistakenly tampered with d driver side sensor , then the light came up and I had no choice than to get a new hub assembly .
Sir you make it look easy, can't wait to track down my ABS, stabilitrack error on the 07 Tahoe, doesn't misfire, doesn't shift hard, but I'm thinking brakes were just slapped in quick and they probably hurt a ABS or speed sensor. Tomorrow the ODB2 will tell me.
GREAT VIDEO. GREAT COMMENTARY! WILL RECOMEND TO EVERYONE WHO WORKS ON THEIR OWN CARS. i replaced the left front wheel hub and stabilitrak is still on. is there something i have to reset?
Thank you soo much for the video. Just solved my problem saving me lots of money. I at least now knew what i was looking for so i luckily had an abs scan tool and told me which wheel was defective
I had this exact problem on my 2007 Chevy Equinox. My ABS module was fried, so it took my mechanic about 7 weeks to diagnose and fix my problem. He replaced the ABS module, then replaced the left front wheel bearing hub assembly. Then, the ABS light came back on, so he replaced the right rear wheel bearing hub assembly. He cleaned my right front and left rear wheel bearing hubs with brake cleaner. Hopefully, they won't have to be replaced. So far, I've spent almost $600 on repairs.
@@Toni-ce It worked for a short while. ABS and traction control lights still come back on intermittently. I just drive with them on. I'm not spending more on brake repairs. The brakes work fine.

Man this light is so annoying i got this on my 2008 Yukon Xl 1500 glad i came across this thx bro I'm fixing this problem tomorrow i subscribed too 👌🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Nice job. i like the fact you talk about the minor info like bolt/socket size, and lack of room for power tools. a little surprised you didn't pull caliper, rotor and the axle first before you undid the bearing hub assembly. but i guess it dosen't matter. overall good video.
Is it better to drive with traction and stabillitrac off all the time will this prolong the life of both systems or is it better for it to be allways on
Thanks for a very helpful video. How did you determine it was the wheel sensor rather than a corroded connector where the sensor wire plugs into the rear wiring harness?
Makes sense to me. Thanks for the reply. Your lighting and camera work were excellent, as was your running commentary explaining what you were doing. Thanks again for the video.
I had this in my Suburban and came out nice. How would you know of this, may ask well you will feel as if you were stepping on the brakes on ice lol . When you come to a light and brake it seems it act as in ice , extra push on brake peddle. like the anti-lock goes on. SENSORS either dirty or need replacement :) good darn video.
I just bought a 2007 Saturn Aura that needs the front right hub replaced. What is a fair price for a shop to replace it? The previous owner just got a quote from a chain car repair shop for about $700 bucks.
My 08 CTS was doing the samething only the brake light was on along with all the other lights..it'll go off and come back on..sometimes it stays off for awhile then comes back but then goes away again..you think it's the same problem?
Thank you for the video. I'm having a "Service StabiliTrak" everytime I start my 2010 Camaro V6. No problem while driving but I think it might be the ABS sensor. What do you think about the issue ? Can I apply the same directives you give in this video ? Thank you
I changed my hub bearing on a 2013 equinox. And after i did that. My stablitrak light and a couple other lights come on now. Any suggestions of what it could be. I know for a fact the wires aren't pinched or anything. Do you think the computer might need reset?
Excellent v-clip; directly to the point !!! Q: would you recommend to change the opposite side bearing too? Q: can I put dielectric grease into the connector to prevent rusting ?

Well sadly there's no such thing as an easy button for automotive repair. That being said, replacing a hub assembly is pretty basic and considered by many as falling into the category of "auto repair 101". Thanks for watching!
I'm having this same issue I have a 2014 impala. Was told it was the hub bearing assembly, paid 350 to get the work done. Wasn't even out of the parking lot the traction light was coming back on. What do you think it could be now? Please help
Do a bad bearing also cause your breaks to lock when in stabilititrak service mode? I have a 2010 equinox and it does that a lot now when driving for at least 30 mins to an hour
I had my brakes changed a while ago on a 2011 Cadillac CTS. I have loss of traction and jumping RPMs when I try to go up hills or accelerate. The ODM reading doesn’t show me there is a code throwing. I use the FIXD app, it’s saying everything is fine but I noticed that the traction is not fine, and feels unsafe to drive. Why wouldn’t the ODM show me a code?
I went somewhere. Have them scan it. It's the left front. I replaced it. Quick and easy Do I need to scan it? And clear or erase the code. To get the lights to go away.
I have a intermittent problem with those lights which limits 4 wheel drive on my 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 you shut it off and it goes away than you are good to go for abit and it comes back on not sure if it's a speed sensor or the SAS sensor on the steering column ?
Hi, I have a 2010 Chevy Colbolt and I rode over a puddle of water & my ABS light came on along with my traction sensor reading back to me saying it was off, sync tire monitor is reading back to also, any suggestions on what it could be?
So... I have a 2012 Cadillac cts, but with the awd GM 3.6L code shows rear speed sensor. Bought one for $20 but while I'm in there, I'm thinking of changing hub and might as well do brakes and rotors as well. Pretty much same technique I assume.... except mine has sensor by itself🤔
Correct. Those as well as the GMC Acadia, Chevy Traverse, Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave all have separate sensors from the hubs. They have a lot of rear sensor failures.
For a very good reason. Leaving the nut on will hold the hub assembly together while removing it. If you remove the nut, attach the slide hammer to the hub flange and hammer away, you will yank the hub flange out separating the bearing. That will make the rest of the hub assembly VERY difficult to remove from the knuckle!
Just fixed both my amber lights . abs and traction control on my dash. in my code diagnosis it showed front left wheel speed sensor on my 2004 esv escallade. I had replaced both front hubs with new sensors included. That is when my dash light showed abs and traction control. So I knew old sensors were ok. I had no problems with old hubs either just waned to update my front end. No need to take off calipers from disc just have a bucket to set disc and entire brake assembly still mounted to disc. No need to take out hub or big wheel nut . just unscrew Allen wrench nut off of wheel speed sensor . when unplugging sensor be sure new one gets plugged all the way back in before tightening the Allen screw .I used dielectric grease and used my old sensor, as new sensor was throwing the code. This is for front end. 2004 esv 6.0 escallade. Wheel speed sensor.
How would i know which tires had that problem because when i turn suv goes on 2 min all thos abs lights turn on traction control and stablink turn ok make funny nose from front tired buying parts
I had this problem on my 2005 Chevy Uplander except that the code was for the LF speed sensor circuit C0035. I replaced the hub and wire harness , cleared the codes and it still comes on as soon as I start the van before i even move. Any suggestions?
My car caliper went bad and I drove the car like that now they change all new calipers and rotor and pads but if I hit my brakes pretty hard the abs and traction control light comes on. Any idea what could cause that????
we have a different issue mr tire replaced the front hub and now the light is on. It was not before they replaced it. we have driven the vehicle over 100miles still on either they bs me or broke it

I think i may have this issue going on as of today on my 2006 ford freestyle FWD. Abs light and traction control light came on during my drive home. In turn the transmission shifting was acting funky. Did some troubleshooting of my own.(i am not a mechanic but mechanically inclined with good instincts). Nothing i did got the the warning lights to go off. I don't have a fancy computer to plug into it just a $40 O'Reilly special. So no codes for the abs sensor or anything like that came up. Was this problem also causing g the truck to not shift out of park? I have a 09 yukon denali and the service traction control light is on as well as the abs light and it wasn't wanting to shift out of park. I replaced the brake light switch and the lights are still in? Any suggestions
Something else is causing your issue with shifting out of park. The brake light switch won't cause the ABS and Traction Control lights to illuminate. You probably have an issue with one of your wheel speed sensors. Most likely one of the front ones as they're the most common to fail.
So I have a 2008 Saturn aura once in a while my brake lights stay on and once in a while the service traction comes on and sometimes my brake lights and such work fine but the top brake light don't work when the top light works and all the brake lights work they all stay on it's weird I'mso confused about whats wrong with this car Any ideas what it could be
Yup that was your problem... mine is a stuck lifter #7. Others its supposedly a ground cable. Or maybe a oil pressure sensor, or a oil fill tube O ring. All from the same light being on.... you're welcome
Negative. The wheel bearing/speed sensor has everything to do with your anti locking brakes, traction and stability control. It does not affect your passive restraint (air bag) system.
I have a 2014 ford fusion. I parked it today came back hour later and started car. Has abs light service traction control airbag light hill assist error lights all on. Had both auto one and advance check for codes. Both found none. Advanced confirmed their odb tool checks abs but nothing. Any ideas
Anytime you correct an issue with ABS, the light will shut off after the vehicle is driven for a little while. You can clear it with a scan tool or just take it for a drive.
@ts6034 great video man. I just bought an 07 1500 and when I “re-learned” the tire pressures, I discovered there aren’t any TPMS sensors and my light is always on. Would this cause an issue with my service stabilitrak light? Funny too it idles like hell and throws a o2 code every now and then? Idk how a bad part would be okay one day and not the next lol. Hoping it won’t become a lemon!!
Thanks! The lack of tire pressure sensors should not cause an ABS light. You likely have a bad wheel speed sensor. My guess would be one of the front ones. Quite common on the chevy trucks. Sometimes you can get away with removing the sensor and cleaning the rust from where it mounts into the hub. As the rust builds up, it increases the distance between the tone ring and the sensor causing bad readings.
The front passenger side abs speed sensor is failing in my 06 grand prix AGAIN. I've had the whole hub assembly replaced multiple times. Is this just common?? Any suggestions/advice??
Do you know if the bearing is failing or just the sensor? It is common for the cheaper hub assemblies to fail prematurely. Also, make certain that the axle nut is being torqued with a torque wrench and not being ran down with an impact gun. There are a lot of "mechanics" out there who don't believe it makes a difference but it totally does!
Would anyone happen to know if these two lights commonly turn on after getting some collision damage fixed? The lights were *not* on before I got the work done. Just got the car back today and both ABS and T/C lights are on.
You don’t realize how much you have just help me i have a 2011 Chevy impala LT I’m having the same problem with my car. And also need a new starter and battery 🔋 wish u was in the Philadelphia.
+Tasha N1 not typically because it generally disables the ABS once one of the sensers drops out. That being said, if the signal is only dropping out when you’re braking to a stop, it will engage the ABS which in turn will cause some pedal movement.
It can make it pull to one side. When the bearing is bad the tire will slightly lean in on the top which causes the rotor to ride the inside brake pad and because of the heat generated by that brake will grab more than the others causing it to pull to that side. It’s a common thing. You’ll see this in your brake pads. Inside is wore more than outside and will also have a slight taper to it. Ask me how I know. Tasha N1, the sensor reads all the time, not only during braking. It’s used for stabilitrac and traction control. When your sensor is bad it disables the ABS, stabilitrac and traction control setting the lights.
Why not just replace the speed sensor? The c0050 code is the bad sensor code, not bearing. And yes, you can change just the sensor by removing the rotor to get to it.
What if you've had the harness and the bearings changed n the problem is still occurring especially the pulsation when you hit the brakes ? Is it safe to drive in snow ?
Xx ItzMeBrayden xX light will go off on its own if problem is fixed!! Clean abs sensor mounting also the teeth on ring,, it is suggested that you change wireframes with wheel hub at the same time
Where can I get the ABS codes read? I have a ODBII reader but does not do ABS. Also, I noticed my light and message came on after "curbing" the back right tire on a turn. I would like to confirm with ABS code reader.
I know a lot of the parts stores will scan engine codes. Not sure if they will do ABS or not. You can buy a code reader off eBay that will read ABS fault codes fairly cheap.
Hello, I want to know if you were able to resolve your issue. I have a chevy traverse and the same exact thing happened. Im looking for a way to resolve the issue with my car.
I told my wife after she purchased a Chevy equinox we should get away from Chevy, what she do goes and buy's a traverse. I don't argue with her anymore but I'm the guy that works on the junk. Had the abs traction control scanned says right rear abs speed sensor, well that didn't fix it replaced a wheel bearing because it needed replaced. I thought that would fix it and nope. We had a Ford escape 250000 miles never any issues. My f150 truck 110000 miles no issues get away from Chevy junk.

Thanks for the video, it's always nice to see it first before you attack it on a new application.
I totally agree. It's nice to see what the job is going to be like and what to expect.
That rubber grommet that you kept mentioning is to keep the speed sensor wires from chafing, then shorting, then ultimately breaking.

Will it throw a code even if the check engine light is off?
Is it better to drive with traction and stabillitrac off all the time will this prolong the life of both systems or is it better for it to be allways on
Leave it on. It will not prolong the life of the speed sensors as they operate whenever the vehicle is in motion.

Will that part also make my service airbag light come on?
Negative. The wheel bearing/speed sensor has everything to do with your anti locking brakes, traction and stability control. It does not affect your passive restraint (air bag) system.
@@Tomsfoolery. Not true. 2011vw jetta (gas). Bad sensor actually trips the airbag indicator light. Replaced hub, reset fault codes, done.
What if the scan tool says a ecu error but the abs and track control light are on?
I have a 2014 ford fusion. I parked it today came back hour later and started car. Has abs light service traction control airbag light hill assist error lights all on. Had both auto one and advance check for codes. Both found none. Advanced confirmed their odb tool checks abs but nothing. Any ideas
Does it have to be set up after ?
Anytime you correct an issue with ABS, the light will shut off after the vehicle is driven for a little while. You can clear it with a scan tool or just take it for a drive.
Well done on this video brother!!
There are a lot of "mechanics" out there who don't believe it makes a difference but it totally does!
wow, all of this just for a sensor! The car manufacturers sure know how to bleed us dry having to fix these things.
No kidding! Good thing theres youtube! lol
Would anyone happen to know if these two lights commonly turn on after getting some collision damage fixed? The lights were *not* on before I got the work done. Just got the car back today and both ABS and T/C lights are on.
I'm in the same situation with my equinox. Did you find anything out?
It’s quite possible they forgot to plug in a wheel speed sensor if that was part of the repair or had to be removed for the repair.
@@Drewdey It ended up being the ABS modulator :(
@@bitsandpiecesmusic thats too bad. Im praying mine is just a faulty sensor 🤞
You don’t realize how much you have just help me i have a 2011 Chevy impala LT I’m having the same problem with my car. And also need a new starter and battery 🔋 wish u was in the Philadelphia.
Glad I could help! I appreciate you watching! Good luck with your car! Hopefully all goes well.
My Chevy impala does a grinding noise when turning left and both wheel bearing were changed any ideas what can it be
Will this cause your brake to jerk when you are stopping
+Tasha N1 not typically because it generally disables the ABS once one of the sensers drops out. That being said, if the signal is only dropping out when you’re braking to a stop, it will engage the ABS which in turn will cause some pedal movement.
ts6034 can it make your wheel fall off
It can make it pull to one side.
Great video. Very informative
Why not just replace the speed sensor? The c0050 code is the bad sensor code, not bearing. And yes, you can change just the sensor by removing the rotor to get to it.
dat daam lites goin' off mane sweet
awesome video. good job! learn lots of thingd
What if you've had the harness and the bearings changed n the problem is still occurring especially the pulsation when you hit the brakes ? Is it safe to drive in snow ?
kerina Aimable you should check your tires wheel alignment brake pads and rooters to be safe
+kerina Aimable is the pulsation your feeling warped rotors? Or is the ABS actually engaging during normal braking?
I had the same problem but GMC Acadia 2009 and fixed the part but the lights still won’t go off and there are no codes coming up
Xx ItzMeBrayden xX light will go off on its own if problem is fixed!!
Thank you so much! Amazing video!
Thanks!
MY VW POLO 9N when I pump brakes hard boom come the EPC LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT on the screen at the car come on limpo mode what is the problem?
Will a bad speed sensor cause my awd to turn off also?
Yes
THANK YOU, SIR!
I uses my old cable on a new hub and all lights went away..im very happy now
Why didn't you just replace the sensor?
