    To anyone viewing this video looking to perfect your (bad) green screen separation method.... look no further!!! If you truly get what Tyler is talking about and doing here, and can perfect his method for yourself, you'll be in green screen heaven! I used to fuss around with all of the Ultra Key properties and still couldn't get my green screen separation completely perfect. Well, if you work on the HSL Secondary color correction method as is described here to flatten your green screen, your troubles are over! Lets face it, most of us don't have huge hollywood budgets to construct the perfect green screen situation in a warehouse. That leaves for a lot of creases, folds and shadows in our green screen backdrop no matter how hard we try to get it perfect during the shoot. This method truly allows you to achieve the absolute best green screen separation as is possible between your subject and the green backdrop. Thanks again, Tyler for a most useful tutorial here! Keep up the great work, Kidd! :)

Thank you for this tutorial

    Awesome! Since I already had an ultra key applied, which I disabled to follow along, when I saw that your steps were not working, I moved the ultra key below lumetri color in the effects control panel, and it worked. So that's an important step to keep in mind. The order of effects really matters. Great tute! Thanks!

    Awesome great tip thank you so much. And thanks SO MUCH for keeping it quick. One complaint though... the edges of your subjects are aggressively blurred... and that's the part of the key that we care about the most.... But I understand that it's hard to get releases on people, just saying

      @@raphaz15 You might need to finagle some settings in the ultra key or HLS. Maybe try expanding/retracting some of the HLS ranges. In the ultra key bring the highlights down to 0 and the shadows down to 40 and duplicate the video layer. I hope that helps.

    Awesome! do you color grade the subjects first before you start this process?

    • @TylerKidd
      @TylerKidd  3 года назад

      Up to you. Adding the grade after might work better. Using a similar trick to the green screen key to pull the skin tones out will help separate your color grading too so it doesn't spill into the green screen. Just add a new lumetri effect and select the skin tones in hls.

    Hi - Great tutorial Tyler, but I have a grey haze around my figure (person), how do I remove that? Appreciate your assistance buddy, and keep on rockin'.

    • @TylerKidd
      @TylerKidd  6 месяцев назад

      Good question. I would try sampling the green screen again. It sounds like the footage might be too far gone unfortunately. That being said If you have after effects I have a tutorial on green screen keying for that, which should produce better results. So for this I would definitely resort to Adobe After Effects to get it done.
