- Chris Chimits is back, watch part 2 of his 2021 African Safari. We hunted for plains game in the green summer Kalahari in South Africa. Not often you get to see the Kalahari like this. We had good rains, bush is lush, grass green and the animals are fat!
Chris hunted a few plains game species, most of which is on Part 1 ( • Hunt Buffalo and Plain... ) but on this video he harvested a beautiful Roan Antelope, Red Hartebeest and Impala for camp meat.
Roan: 08:52
Red Hartebeest: 22:00

Beautiful roan, excellent PH and guides, excellent hunting,Beautiful country!
I agree on all of those!!!
Thanks to the conservation efforts of hunters Roan and Sable antelope are now actually normal antelope to hunt. Wasn't the same case in the 70's and 80's.
Very true. Even Bontebok and Black Wildebeest, same story.
Thanks for the comment.
Beautiful sunrises and sunsets!!!
Faithful subscriber, thank you sir!
My three favorite plains game , Eland , Oryx and Kudu ! But also Elephant , Buffalo , Hippo and Crocs . and those knot headed little pigs 🙂
All of those offer big challenges, I love filming those hunts, even the piggys!
Marty, you get better and better !! And your timing for posting is superb ☕.
I'm missing Africa badly ! Thank you
Haha, thanks Martin! I'm learning as we go along, glad I'm getting some things right 😁
Another great video. Thanks Martin.
You're welcome John. I appreciate your constant support!
Another great hunt, well filmed and edited. Always a pleasure to watch.
Thanks for watching!
Great video a pleasure to watch! Wild dogs how lucky you were to see those. So different when its green.
Thank you very much! Yes, very lucky to see wild dogs. In the 18 years of filming I've then them a few times, but some years go by without a single sighting.
I love it, beautiful 🤩
Thank you! Cheers!
So beautiful
Thanks Ajoy, glad you like it.

Nice video again, thanks
Thanks for watching Dirkie, I appreciate your support!
Excellent video!!💖
Thank you 🤗
It's nice to have a P.H. that will give you a piggy back ride if you're too lazy to walk!
You don't find many of those! We had a great time, can't wait for the next one.
It's amazing to see the bullet hit that Red Heartabeast and change direction so much, that it hit the dirt so far left, I thought it was a complete miss.
I also thought so when it happened in real-time, but then saw the reaction of the animal. I watched the video and was like Wow, that's a big deflection
The bullet split the heart xactly in half and hit the shoulder bone on the opposite side. It sent the bullet down at a sharp angle making us all think I muffed the shot completely. We didn't piece the whole thing together until we got to the skinning shed and saw the wound channel through the animal. Then watching the video again made the picture whole.
Thanks for the content
My pleasure! There will be much more over the next few months.
@@AfricanSunProductions really can’t wait

🤝🤝🤝🤝👍👍👍👍
Thank you for watching!!!
Great video, absolutely outstanding! What kind of caliber are shooter using?
Awesome, glad you like it so much! It sure was fun to make.
Chris was shooting a .300 Magnum on the plains game, and on his Buffalo hunt (ruclips.net/video/cuTKlYYO6Xo/видео.html) he used a .416.
Thanks for watching Franz!
@@AfricanSunProductions THE BEST INFORMATION FOR BEGGERS IS ALWAYS TELL THE DISTANCE AND AS WELL AS THE BALUIBAR OF RIFLE S LIKE THIS SMART HUNTER
@@kamrantahawar9192 agreed! Information is key.
Another amazing hunting video made by african sun!
Also whats the best caliber for things like antelope in africa?
Thanks Woodsy. I'm happy you enjoy the movies.
Calibers are a bit of a personal choice. .300 or .375 will work just fine. Basically the rifle that you shoot best is the one to bring. Talk to your guide beforehand, there are some legal requirements which differ from country to country.
@@AfricanSunProductions awesome ok thanks! Cant wait to start saving up for a trip to south Africa
@@Thecircustapes Plains game hunts are not as expensive as you might think. I'd say that $7,500 would get you a full week (or more) of hunting along with 5 or 6 species of antelope. The quality at Mabula Pro Safaris is spectacular to say the least!
@@chrischimits6313 are you serious? Its that cheap? Maybe i'll go sooner but i want to focus on north america first
What's the difference between plains and big game?...
Plains game are the smaller antelope found on the plains of Africa. Many people include the animals that live in thickets. It's supposed to be the smaller species but each person seen to have his own opinion.
Big game are Eland Kudu Wildebeest etc.
Dangerous game are big 5, hippo croc etc.
Thanks!
