As impressive as this scope is for home build, it has many issues from the practical point of view. You would be better off making an open red dot sight to be honest (something like Holosun 510). On the other hand 3D printable SMGs are actually pretty decent, if made well.

Took me a while to realize that the glass could be used as windage and elevation adjustments if you painted a reticle on them, kind of like the mosins PU 3.5 scope. Great vid!

Man, I want to make a cardboard PSO-1 scope, but I think it's much different compared to your scope. What should I do? What magnification should I use? How thick should the lens need to be and where to put the reticle? Btw, do I really need to make the reticle like yours, I mean, can I just put a piece of glass and cut the reticle pattern?

Thats a cool stuff i ever see,,,but im thinking how did you determine the focal length and put its as L1,L2,and L3,,,means how you measure your magnification by using conves lens and label its?
To find the focal length of a convex lens. Place the screen behind the convex lens and focus distant light source. Adjust the position of the convex lens and the screen so that until you get sharp lamp image. The distance of the lens and the screen is equal to the focal length of the convex lens

I've spent a lot of money to buy about 25 of the lenses for making a sniper scope, and the result, the longest sniper scope were made (24 inches at length) but only have the maximum 8x zoom
