    • @eramirezjr5461
      @eramirezjr5461  3 года назад

      Hey, did you install an aftermarket wiring harness? Being that their color coded, get any speaker and connect it to a set of the color coded speaker wires on the harness. You should have sound. I don't think that those Camry's came with a stock amp. Also check your antenna wire, make sure its inserted into the radio. Check the rear speakers, make sure their connected. I did run into that with a resent install and connected the antenna wire and it came to life being that I was trying the radio channels. If anything try to do a bench test on the radio before installing. This way your 100% sure the radio works.

    so, idk if you’d know. mine has the anti-theft system. if I remove it, and swap it, and want to swap back, will it still work? I have a sticker on my window that says that it won’t work if taken out.

    • @eramirezjr5461
      @eramirezjr5461  2 года назад

      Hey Evan, Good question. Your answer is YES. You can swap to an aftermarket radio and swap it back with the stock radio just as long as it's the original radio that came with your Camry. The sticker implies that the radio will not work if removed and used in another car and vise versa. That only applies to the stock radio. Hope this helped!

    • @eramirezjr5461
      @eramirezjr5461  5 лет назад +3

      YES, when it comes to replacing a stock radio with an after market, your always going find yourself connecting wires. Once you select the radio you want to install, you can buy an after market plug specially made for your vehicle. Thus making it easier to plug into the factory wiring and not strip them. Like you saw in the video, I wired the after market plug to the radio and then connected that same plug to cars factory wire plug. All after market plug wires are color coded to match the new radio. It never fails! Any doubt just let me know ok. Thanks for asking!

    • @eramirezjr5461
      @eramirezjr5461  Год назад

      Hey Alex, well, the factory harness is made to connect directly to its factory radio only. If your installing a Pioneer, there is a custom harness available that connects the Pioneer to the factory harness without having to deal with the color coded wiring. Just plug and play. Now if your installing a radio that doesn't make any custom harness for your car, then your only option is to buy the harness at amazon or ebay which ever is cheaper. It might look intimidating but its not. You buy the harness adapter, connect all the wires as color indicates it. Tape them up individually to make sure they don't make contact with one another then connect factory harness plug to the new harness and everything should work. Hope this helps. If any doubts let me know.

    So how do you connect the wires, which color goes where???

    • @eramirezjr5461
      @eramirezjr5461  Год назад +1

      Hey William Rowe, this is simple if you are installing an aftermarket unit. All aftermarket unit come with there own harness which is color coded. For this install you will also need the wire harness that connects your radio unit to the factory harness, which is also color coded to match the aftermarket.unit wiring . So match and connect the wires, Green,Purple,Grey and white are for speakers. Blue/Black, Blue are for power options like power antenna or an amp. Yellow, Red and Black are the wires that power on the radio unit so be careful with those wires. I never do Frankenstein setups where I connect the aftermarket radio directly to the factory wiring. Thats a NO NO! Head unit and the Scosche TA02B wiring harness will make it easy. Hope this helps!

      @eramirezjr5461  2 года назад +1

      Hey Orlando, NO! The blue wire on the after market harness can be used for the power antenna if the car has one. The blue/white wire is meant for a after market amp and that's if your gonna use one. If not, just tape the ends to make sure they don't ground them self's. Those 2-wires provide a 5 volt (+) signal to accessories you may have and want to add. Hope this helps and stay safe!

    • @eramirezjr5461
      @eramirezjr5461  4 года назад

      I believe your referring to the Dual Electronics XDM17BT . If so, yes its short but to install that one you need the original cage that comes with that radio. If you don't have the original cage then your gonna have to be tool savvy. Without the cage I do see that it does not have any screw hole but you may be able to drill your own. The cage is what makes it easier in your case.

    • @AhsenJabbar

      eramirez jr yep that’s the one! The only cage it comes with is just like a sleeve, that too without any holes for screws. And I tried to somehow fit it but then the head unit itself seems to be too wide for the dash, here’s a photo of what it looks like.
