- In this video, I will replace all 4 struts in my 1996 Toyota Camry.
Autozone part numbers:
LS34-84641L (left) $129.99 FRONT loaded strut (includes spring)
LS34-84641R (right) $129.99 FRONT loaded strut (includes spring)
LS53-90532L (left) $109.99 REAR loaded strut (includes spring)
LS53-90532R (right) $109.99 REAR loaded strut (includes spring)

@@DavidHernandez-ue4fz I think it takes a 14mm wrench, but the new struts might take a different size wrench.

How much would be reasonable to pay to have 2 rear struts replaced on a 96 camry LE? Thanks.
It can be a pain to try and hold up the strut in the morning holes and put a nut on at the same time. Only tip I have for that is to get another person lol! Some cars it’s impossible to do by yourself.

This is too wild, because I was just talking today with my brother about doing this. Got lots of apprehension about doing this. I have worked a lot on washers and dryers, so a part of me thinks I could talk it.
The front brakes, I believe, the rotors need replacing or what call "turned". Do you hav a video on that? How hard? What about that and putting in new brake pads?

How do you know if the struts and spring needs replacement?
If you still have the original springs, they are bad. Struts and springs are good for about 10 years. You can test your struts by pushing down on all 4 corners of the car. It should bounce back up and and stop. If it bounces more than that, the struts aren't working.
The front look fairly doable. The back looks like a headache.

I made some strut spacers out of HDPE plastic. It's high density plastic. Easy to cut, but as strong as steel. I had to install longer strut bolts.
Forgot to add I also have the 1996 Camry.
So no compression required?
If you buy a loaded strut, a new spring will already be installed. If you are re-using old springs or assembling the struts yourself, you will need a spring compressor.

Yes. The Corolla is very similar to the Camry. Everything will just be a little smaller.
great video. I have a 1996 Camry v6 and i can't seem to find rear quick struts for the v6 model. are they different than the 4 cyd?
They should be the same. I think the only difference is the V6 Camry is a little heavier in the front.

You can replace all 4 struts in less than 4 hours if you're good at mechanicing.
