I agree with German society being pacifist but they no longer need as many "warriors" despite the conventional war we see in Ukraine. And even in Ukraine both sides are using large fleets of drones and the numbers will only increase. Between a pacifist and a warrior is a huge divide. Most people lie somewhere in between, such as non-combatant but willing to serve to people who are true pacifists that won't take part in any military in any form.

Germany has a population of 90 million and can easily find 200 000 volunteers while Sweden has 10 million and therefore would have a harder time finding 200 000 volunteers. Also after Swedish basic training people can choose if they want to continue with their military training, return to civilian life or return to civilian life but continue training with the military from time to time.

If you also have good German language skills, they’d probably be able to easily make arrangements. If you don’t know German with enough fluency, joining another military part of or aligned with NATO (for example UK, USA, Canada, Australia) is a better idea.

If you also have good German language skills, they’d probably be able to easily make arrangements. If you don’t know German with enough fluency, joining another military part of or aligned with NATO (for example UK, USA, Canada, Australia) is a better idea.
