Thelonious Sphere Monk (October 10, 1917 -- February 17, 1982) was an American jazz pianist and composer, considered one of the giants of American music. Monk had a unique improvisational style and made numerous contributions to the standard jazz repertoire, including "Epistrophy", "'Round Midnight", "Blue Monk", "Straight, No Chaser" and "Well, You Needn't". Monk is the second-most recorded jazz composer after Duke Ellington, which is particularly remarkable as Ellington composed over 1,000 songs while Monk wrote about 70.

Great track. Monk was an absolute master
Cant get to hear enough of Johnny Griffin, this is one of the best live LPs and Monk was in top form.
I love blue and I love Monk put the two together and you get magic, great stuff.
This was one of the first jazz tunes I ever heard as a kid, alongside "Satin Doll."
Would like to see Monks dance during Griffs solo :)
Johnny Griffin and Monk is the perfect pairing
Greetings from Germany! This is some great music.
La aprendí en la viola q blues genial ❤gracias sphere
Monk in 2024 it is.
This is a work excels jazzy!!!!
Jazz is the only music genre in which it is acceptable for the audience to applaud during a performance
That tells you all you need to know about jazz
I thought people applauded after solos in rock concerts.
At one time it was more than acceptable at classical music concerts. Which perhaps tells a lot about the state of modern classical music.
na ez zene!!!én már 61 éves vagyok.de még ki megyek ,oda
Maravilloso
Great song!!!! 🇧🇷
El más grande de todos los tiempos, el maestro de maestros del Jazz.
Love it
Um dos maiores exemplos de como o uso de cromatismo pode proporcionar melodias magníficas!
I like this sax better than the regular Charley Rouse he used for most of the time.

Best moment ever
Who counted it wrong?! :D
hahahahahaha
Monk came in early, Griffin came in right, with drums and bass but adjusted immediately and went, or tried, to go with Monk but they dropped a beat in the process, bass and drums then ajusted accordingly.
I was ripped! XD But it's so good anyway.
Kocil!
