ING presents: The Rembrandt Tutorials. A series of six tutorials with the voice of Rembrandt himself, you learn how to paint a portrait in the style of Rembrandt. Together with leading language experts from The Netherlands Language Institute and Rembrandt experts from The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, his painting technique, character and language were mapped. Subsequently, with this data and based on 60 self-portraits, Carnegie Mellon University reconstructed Rembrandt's voice.

Unfortunately there is no existing diary of Rembrandt himself which could be consulted. The content of what the voice over is telling is based on what contemporaries have written on Rembrandt's working methods, painting manuals from the 17th century and modern day technological research. This text was then translated into 17th century Dutch
Please…in the video the painter added some substance to the oil to make the glaze medium, but it wasn’t explained. What was added to the oil?
Linseed oil of bleach Linseedt oil
I added a bit of linseed oil to the paint. But you could also use a more modern painting medium.
