    We start with transparent layers of paint and then switch to more opaque colors.
    ING presents: The Rembrandt Tutorials. A series of six tutorials with the voice of Rembrandt himself, you learn how to paint a portrait in the style of Rembrandt. Together with leading language experts from The Netherlands Language Institute and Rembrandt experts from The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, his painting technique, character and language were mapped. Subsequently, with this data and based on 60 self-portraits, Carnegie Mellon University reconstructed Rembrandt's voice.

      Sally - go to settings (next to the translation icon), go to sub-titles and then auto translate - choose English. :-)

      @@planetina5616 The option under "auto generated" is "auto translate" - click on that and choose English. It will then work. You will need to do this for the rest of the episodes.

      @@planetina5616 Interesting. Have you tried refreshing the page and checking again? I just had a look and could not get the "auto translate" to show-up only the Dutch option. I refreshed the page and "auto translate" came-up under "Dutch auto-generated". Weird why it is playing-up. A shame. Hopefully it will work for you at some stage.

    really Rembrandt sayd Titanum white or Cadmum red? Both discovered in late XIXth c.

    • @janbustin80
      @janbustin80 2 года назад +1

      These colours were not yet discovered in the 17th century. But as it is actually prohibited to sell them both titanium and cadmium red could serve as a modern substitute. At least optically.

    My research shows that Titanium White came into use in 1921. ???

    • @janbustin3085
      @janbustin3085 4 года назад

      Rembrandt himself used leadwhite which would have been hand ground. As is told in some of the other video's. But for most modern day painters and for safety reasons titanium white would be more recommendable.
