Does anyone find interesting that nos energy drink left the channel same time as James had an hartattack?
all those energy drinks are junk.
Dato Qamushadze didn’t he have one a few months ago as well?
@@ethan60645 That's the one they are talking about, but this episode may have been recorded at that time and released later
Alexandru Ovidiu Stoica didn’t know that but now it makes sense they’re talking about 2019 not 20, still super bummed for him
@@SoulboxSound my Romanian brethren!
"anything under 6000 lbs is a truck"
"so we're all basically trucks then" lmao
I knew I was a truck
There is nothing here! What are you looking for? Private Information?
The PT Cruiser was my first car
Edit: On the registration it was classified as a "Sport Van"
FYI Guys.. This was filmed a while back, James is fine and recovered.
When you guys do these videos can you flash pictures of the cars you talk about? I think it would really increase the watchability of these videos, love the content but having to pause and google pictures every time you mention a cat just seems silly
This please.
totally agree, 99 Percent Invisible (great design/architecture story-driven podcast) has pictures on their website to illustrate each episode, it really helps visualize the story. Flashing pictures on the video would be perfect!
Any update on this idea?! I agree 💯
It's cause it's a podcast. Not a traditional video
It's a podcast... So no pictures.
For being a writer, I find it funny that he says things like "the book of synonyms" and "deconvinced" lmao.
I was at a car lot buying a used truck and literally saw a 57 year old man trade in a 1997 Corvette for a PT Cruiser that's how much people went crazy over these things
The pt cruiser was a big part in my child hood,my mom had one and we went to the beach, movies, and road trips, was alsp the first car I've actuly got to drive(i drove it 2 times around the house)
Jeremiah is such a good asset for this channel. He’s grown so well!
PT's had the nicest interiors, and the leather seats were ssoo nice. i once had a suzuki sidekick that i replaced the front seats with leather seats from a PT
Why is the guy in the blue shirt sound like and look like the Deadpool’s best friend who works at the bar.
David Kelley he does too 😂
The deadpool
It’s a dodge neon.
On stilts.
What could go wrong.
Everyone who bought one was a sucker.
Everyone buying brand new cars is a sucker.
Nathan Brame my dad was one of these suckers.
Turbo models are cool
People on the internet are suckers to believe every comment they read.
Well it was a well built car that just got hit hard by second hand market.
Okay, Scotty Kilmer.
My grandma had a PT till last year.... Going 80km shook the whooole front end, and then her sight wasnt good so she drove constantly adjusting her steering, I fuzzing thought I was gonna die. Like No joke at all
Podcast Ad: (reverse cymbal sound) KILLER IN-STINK-T
Me: (SMASH 30 SECOND SKIP)
Get well soon James 😘
He's "better". the heart attack was back in october I believe... They filmed a ton of these last year
these were filmed a while back, james is good now
I’m not sure I will until I up
The PT Cruiser was classified as a “light truck” do to CAFE standards being based on a manufacturer’s fleet standards. Chrysler used the PT to balance out the lousy fuel standards of the first generation Durango, another “light truck”.
Ah, that's one of the vehicles I just always felt kinda called to make it right. Such a nice form factor, but disappointing at *everything else.* I'd really like to give one like a K-swap, suspension, brakes, a more-actually-retro interior, and a Willys' looking front clip conversion.
My grandmother used to use hers to haul her mini horse to horse shows. God I miss her so much.
Theres a guy who runs a youtube channel near me with a bunch of wild cars. A turbo EK Civic pickup truck, two built Neon SRTs, and a built Turbo PT cruiser. The Civic truck is the coolest but for some reason hearing a crazy exhaust note and turbo noises coming from a PT is grin enducing.
i've never not known a PT Cruiser to fail somewhere under 50k miles so i'd say it deserves the hate 100%
I've lived with these for a lot of my life, had one as a first car... Got shit my whole school years for it, and I didn't like it either, we had a 95 caravan or an 81 rabbit truck that hadn't drove in a while that I would have rather driven, especially the truck, cus they rust like crazy if they sit and their getting expensive now... But really it is hard to replace a PT cruiser, it can haul all our rc racing stuff in an easy position, or a wheelchair in the hatch no problem, and you don't lose your seating.... Plus, you got a lot pretty good options at a decent price, heated seats, abs, ac, radio with track listings, ECT. Fuel mileage could be better for sure, 23 25 really sucks for a small car that's also a dog when you got the gas.... But that's all fixed w the turbo ones which my mom has. Ive driven these in these in the corners pretty fast, they aren't scary bad handling, but it won't kill you, plus it's pretty decent in the snow, like I've been really impressed by the crap I've gone up with in my PT cruiser.... But for f*cks sake it is a bastard to work on.... Brakes aren't terrible to do, it doesn't eat calipers left and right... But if you ever have to work on the motor, especially belt side....
And to think there are ppl with v8 swaps
My dad's dream car growing up was actually a LeBaron Convertible
My dad got the first P.T. Cruiser in the state of Arizona so I think the intro is pretty dope! It was a huge deal, my dad and I were taking it to local car shows for the first year of him owning it. Probably one of the major things that got me into motorsports as a kid.
And now International made a semi-truck version of it...
As someone who has worked on a ton of PT’s the only real real bad thing about the car was the motor mounts where almost always bad
Never understood why the PT Cruiser gets so much hate. There are way worse cars out there.
As for the design, I take unusual over generic anytime...
More TJ Milller in the podcast... he's the guy in the blue right?
great episode guys!
I was really disappointed with this podcast. I wanted to hear arguments for, opinions on, and defenses for the PT Cruiser. Nobody has done that, yet.
I don't want someone to read into a microphone content I can find and read myself. Give me your opinions and your own voices. I didn't learn what any of the Donut staff *really* thought of the PT Cruiser or Prowler.
There's talent here, Hi-Low was phenomenal and the personalities are good and growing. I want to see that in these podcasts.
My high school friends parents each had a PT cruiser, her moms was that normal silver color iirc, but her dads was practically covered in decals and stickers and I think he had done some work on the engine. I remember giving her hell a couple times, I miss days like that
Never owned or will own one. I will say this. I live in NE Ohio... where rust kills everything. I go through a 'winter car' every three years or so. There are PT Cruisers everywhere, straight, running and in our shit weather, 20 WINTERS MAYBE.
To me that says a great deal.
Before Beramiah became a regular host lol 😆
Just 33 minutes! Oh mannnnn..
Bring 1 hour podcasts back mann
Need a podcast on James talking about his heart attack
I agree
we also need a podcast on james' dad
He mentioned the heart attack in the episode when he came back from recovery phase iirc
Fun Fact: 57 Chevy Bel Airs were so unpopular in the 70's they were often used in Demolition Derby's. Today they are An American Icon. As will be the PT Crusier ...future classic
So the Pt cruiser, like the aztek, is the proto crossover? Well you failed to convince me otherwise
Dude that's hilarious my mom had the first convertible PT Cruiser in Brevard
We also had a Prowler. My dad worked for Chrysler
"KA-TEE-UH" and it's very powerful. But licenses cost so much. Most people just use solidworks anymore, but Catia is amazing if you can use it.
Ok these two writers are absolutely hilarious. I want at least one more episode with them.
They return as a duo for the Snow Cruiser episode and Joe sits in with James for the Skyline Episodes and Evel Kinivel. :D
“Synonyms book” aka a thesaurus...
I actually got my PT about 6 years ago and restored it! Its funny how many looks i get, especially after my paint job😂😂😂
If I looked up "thesaurus" in a thesaurus would it say "synonyms book"?
I remember one of those sema builds! It was called the “pt bruiser” it was a cover car for minitruckin magazine back in the day. I know I’ve got it somewhere. I don’t throw away my car magazines. They are all boxed up at my moms house. I’m going to go hunt for the in her attic now! Thx donut! Haha! But I bet there’s gotta be something on them interwebs about it....
I was stoked on the release. We wanted to do suicide doors, running boards; full throwback to mobster cars. Never got to. but... The most seat time I have with fwd is a PT. Both a manual and auto. Both owned by my boss. 🤷♂️ Fun is fun.
A few submissions to the Vomitorium...
PT Cruiser
Chevrolet SSR
Plymouth Prowler
1st gen Toyota Tundra Stepside
Pontiac Aztek
Pontiac [insert any model here from the 90's-00's, G6, GTO, Vibe, etc...]
Nissan Juke
Nissan Cube
Honda Element (very barf-worthy indeed)
Feeling queasy now, I gotta take a break...
I love my 06 pt cruiser I was sooo sad when I slid off the road on an icy snowy day and wrecked its radiator. Its frame got bent. I'm going to be soooooo sad when it breaks on me and I have to get rid of it. I really want to get a higher trim level parts car and repair mine and make mine nicer. I really wish that I could keep it forever as it's my first car and its nicknamed the silver bullet. I really love my pt cruiser.
With all this laughing it should be, Donut Podcasts: Beavis and Butt-Head edition.
blue tshirt guy just needs that approval constantly, scans the room for eye contact, and shuts up, chuckles, or expands on his joke depending on the collective "funny barometer" feedback...just say your funny bro, if it falls flat at least you took a chance. you dont have to ask permission to try to be funny..the other guys at least is honest and he actually looks annoyed at the kook in the hat.
My dad had a Plymouth Reliant, one of the most boring cars we ever had, yet I miss it.
Also It was almost indestructible, It was a military official car beaten like hell, then sold in an auction, used for public transport (taxi), sold to an old man that didn't care for it, bought back, left underwater for more than 6 hours, and back on the road a week later, then sold after some time, and still riding around probably.
Neither the engine or the transmission were taken apart for its 25 years of hard life in my family, but its current owner may have done it, my old caravan is asking for a rebuild, it doesn't make sense if he hadn't.
Im 5'4" and this thing was pedfect for me, it had captain chairs like a astro van, abd my head never touched the roof (id say im short legs and tall torso)
Y’all should do an episode on the 1965 24 hours of Le Man, its one of the the best racing stories you’ve never heard of.
A local dealer around 2010 sold them for a dollar when you bought a Jeep 😂
Good job guys! You never disappoint us viewers! Nolan I have a queball with 12mm threads I've had in 3 different vehicles since 1999! Now it just sits in a box... hit me up if you want it!
Can you guys do a feature on the STP-Paxton turbocar that raced Indianapolis in 1967. Jet turbine powered 4 wheel drive, back when Indianapolis was run what ya brung it was a “what could have been” car.
Listen I'm pushing 40 and I remember when Plymouth had Night Man drive the prowler and I LOVED that car! When I saw the PT Cruiser obviously one could see the 30's styling and THAT is something I loved but the PT - HATED that trash car and always will. Hate the looks, hate the power train, and pretty much everything else about it. Hate that it looked like a covered yute... I could go on. Trash. I STILL plan on buying a prowler but the cruiser can FRO.
Both These guys are funny. You gotta use them on these. Even a show for em
I love the chrysler PT cruiser❤
The first time I looked inside a pt cruiser was in late 2005 and as I leaned in the driver window the door panel dented in making a thump, so I pulled out and it thumped back into place. 😂 The driver was test driving it! 🤣
I’ve had three Cruisers and my present 2006 is in mint condition with 118K .
Yeah, I know this is an old one…
I honestly always thought PT stood for Panel Truck… the vehicle they were trying to emulate in the first place.
When they were coming out I’ll admit I was a little excited over it, I was in my mid 20’s and loved the *ahem* RETRO styling.
But when I discovered it was a FWD 4 popper like everything else, and 2 weeks later there was eleventy billion of them on the road, I lost interest and never looked back.
26:17 damn it!
It would be great if you guys would show pics of the cars your are referring to during the pod cast.
I remember when it first came out so many people thought they were cool. My grandmother wanted one. The cheap plastic and fake wood could never replicate the feel of the older mopar models. I don't think it's the "worst car" it's just not as good as many wanted.
The making of a legend
Says he’s not boring, then the first thing out of his mouth is baseball? Hahaha
Still listening in. Enjoying the Podcast! James get well and get your HRSpwrs back!!!
Get well soon James
PT Cruiser = Part Time Cruiser.... since it didn't always work...
That is so true about tall people 😅
“Synonyms book” u mean a thesaurus ? 😂🗿
I have a 1990 spirit and there is a club that has like 4000 members for Chrysler cars from 1970-2000s I can't buy lots of parts anymore, but its got a turbski 🇺🇸 there are cool k cars
Turbo Daytonas and spirit rt
They made a lot of cool turbo little cars over the years and I became a fan a while back and its kind of spendy.but a part of history. And I am not even a Dodge guy😀🇺🇸
Watching this to support the channel.
I would rather own a Prius 2 times over before I buy one .
You forgot to mention that Chrysler did sell Mitsubishis as captive imports right through till the 1980s.
DAMN YOU DONUT GUYS WORK SO HARD AND SO AHEAD OF TIME. YOU JUST A BUNCH HARD-WORKERS
So my mom was actually the first person in my town to have a PT Cruiser and it made her like a weird sort of minor celebrity for awhile. It was also a candy apple red stick shift so people were like going bananas over this thing
13:41 "Its about cars not about farts"
You sure?
im watching this in oktober and im used to jeremiah at b2b but its funny to see how he was so much more akward back then
I have nightmares of replacing the lower control arms on these and the neons... That and the intrepid/concord inner tierods.
Dodge/Plymouth hated front end techs...
What!?!? That's insane! Best wishes and take your time. Get well James!!
Lester M. He’s back now
haha, I remember my high school ball, our chariot was a PT cruiser and even 14 yr old me in 2005 was not particularly impressed. It was kinda of cool because they were still new, and very rare in New Zealand. But I still knew it wasn't an amazing car or had very much prestige at the time.
Chrysler at one time was involved in an engine line called “world engines”.
We dont love the PT cruiser in the UK
you guys need to show example pics of the thing you’re mentioning pleaseeee!!
Is it bad that I'm sad the PT cruiser GT with the RT engine didn't come to England?
Why didn't they follow through with the pronto cruiser???
The PT Cruiser has the turning radius of a limo.... not kidding, the only way I could make U-turns in one try is by accelerating and pulling the handbrake while ripping the steering wheel.
God bless and get well quickly James.
Looks like we're never drinking Nos again
Amazing as always
Drove the convertible turbo as my first car. Very heavy but I got it up to 190+km/h
Wouldn’t advise anyone doing that.
The PT could have been a bit cooler with suicide doors. But not much...
An old persons car? You three youngsters need to remember. If everything goes well for you. Really well. Before you know it you'll be an old person...
Bro my highschool history teacher's name is mr murphy too holy crap
I thought that was the LFA that took Lexus that long to develop
Just to state it this actual recording was posted November 18th 2019. This is the RUclips posting of the studio recording based off the podcast posted earlier. I actually don’t know of James condition as of now, but luckily the heart attack is behind him.
I actually kinda want one after listening to this. In the UK they are mostly owned by weirdos that air brush Harry Potter and that sort of s**t on them
Love you guys
I think everyone has a grandparent that owned one at some point 😂
Bring dude in the hat back
I haul a lot of tools for work. Maybe i need a pt cruiser?
America's most hated car is the Pontiac Aztec.
