Exactly what came to my mind. It became a tradition for a reason; these tattoo will look great for a lifetime. I also love the history behind them, and knowing pieces I wear have been passed down from master to apprentice for generations.

Inked actually showing love to traditional!?!? Finally!! Usually just a massive realism circle jerk, nothing wrong with realism just seems to be all you ever hear about from Inked like it’s the only type of good tattoo.
I miss flash in tattoo shops. Everyone has taken down flash in tattoo shops for a more clean, modern look. I'm glad he keeps it alive. Some of my favorite tattoos I picked off a wall of flash because I just felt like getting tattooed. There's something to be said about the spontaneity of it. The bulk of early American tattoos were most likely spontaneous, "I want you to put that one right here." That's how sailors on shore leave and established badasses like my grandpa got tattooed in the early days. Respect.
CMDR Gonzo von Richthofen Im 17 and I actually didnt know that’s what they were. I would always see the pictures on the wall as and even now people say not to get tattoos off the wall. This video showed a different perspective.
I've been given a small bit of flack for two of my tattoos I got for Frday the 13th. By default they're flash, but that's kinda what I like about them. They're just spontaneous tattoos I got for fun, not meant to be anything symbolic or extravagant. Do I absolutely adore them? I'd be lying if I said I did, but I still love 'em and would certainly get more flash tattoos for the sake of getting a tattoo
Northeast TN has lots of “traditional” shops covered in all sorts of flash from American traditional all the way to tribal/barbed wire lol. Plenty of my tattoos are flash off the wall from my days as a drunk 18 year old in a small town with some money burning my pockets.
My guy always has his own flash on his walls. I have quite a few of them actually. I can tell how happy it makes him when he gets to tattoo something he designed.
I have zero tattoos but I stumbled upon this video and absolutely love it. In ten minutes Myke introduces an artistic genre, traces it roots, and gives incredibly nuanced takes on how to both honor tradition while also acknowledging that art must and will evolve. Even with how little I know about tattoos I can easily sense Myke's both deep love of and commitment to his craft. I really enjoyed watching this.
I love the historical aspect of traditional tattoos. Like the iconography I'm wearing on my skin was worn since the beginning of tattooing in the US and to have traditional tattoos as a woman just feels really beautifully bad ass
