Why do everybody call Alex a school bully? Just because he is sporty doesn't make him a bully. He is a bit wain and overconfident at the beginning, but he later opens up and shows his vulnerable side. And he never says anything bad about others, but appears helpful and considerate.
He's kinda mean in the beginning when you play the game as a male character. Even after opening up, I find the way he talks in the beginning appalling enough to not want to have to do a lot with them.

You might not have gotten all his comment's in the chronological order they were intended, so he might seem to regress if that happens. If you look at the other bachelors, and many of the side characters, then most of them are also rude at times, and some are far worse than Alex. Anyway we don't always interpret things the same way. So if you have a specific quote that you feel I've overlooked, then you are very welcome to share it.

What can I say, Sam is a dork, yes, but also he’s a human ray of sunshine, a bit naive but still it’s MY ray of sunshine with a heart of gold and I love this guy for it. Also he’s good with kids and does something on a farm basically everyday 🤷 On the other side Sebastian is pretty much a manifestation of my persona in this game, the only difference is - he’s a guy and with different color palette. After marriage he becomes a cinnamon roll.

I relate a lot to this, and I always marry Sebastian in base game (I’ve been playing the mod Stardew Valley Expanded recently and gave some new romanceable characters a shot). However, in my last vanilla playthrough I married Sebastian and I was on year 2, and I had recently found out that your spouse will watch the moonlight jellies with you! I was really excited since I was close to the end of summer, and then I got to the festival and Sebastian said something like “I want to be left alone today” and I felt so bad- One, it felt like some sort of rejection which fucking sucked. Two, due to the game code (obviously) he was forced to spend time with me watching the jellies anyway. And three, moonlight jellies is my favorite festival and I cried like in real life from that. Mostly because my actual relationship was not going well at the time and it reminded me of them. Basically, I understand needing time to yourself, but admittedly Sebastian can be kind of a dick sometimes. I was so excited for this festival and he like actually, legitimately ruined it for me. I had to stop playing after that.

Man has issues but he handles them 100 times better than Shane. Fake confidence and denial are preferable to alcoholism. Plus that scene at the two hearts in the beach where he opens up about his mom passing away really makes me feel for the guy. Lost someone he loved so young only for his other source of protection to be a deadbeat alcoholic who abandoned him at his grandparents place. That shit resonates with a lot of people.

If i remember the comment he makes its about the games version of football and how he didnt think a girl like us knew or would be able to play. But he does seem happy about being wrong which to me shows he doesnt mean it in a bad way. All the women his age arent exactly sporty so he probably doesnt expect your character to be either. But like i said, for a jock hes actually really chill. All the younger love interest are stereotypes and they could have made him so much worse for far longer like Shane (who literally tells you to fuck off unless you feed his addiction long enough). Plus if you romance him as a guy his dialogue and mannerism show that he's very repressed and his grandpa doesnt fully like you if you get with him either. Unlike the others who dont really have reservations regardless of your gender, it makes his whole route seem more real to me since he finds himself and comes to realize what he wants doesnt need to be what society or someone else wants for him. Lots of people don't romance him for how he is at surface level but he's actually one of the more 3 dimensional ones to me, at least based on how i perceived his events, dialogue and interacting with his things and family.

To me, he is one of the few who do not adhere to the basic media stereotypes, which would make him simple enough for the audience to understand but deprive of his personality (like it happened to some other characters). I relate a lot to this, and I always marry Sebastian in base game (I’ve been playing the mod Stardew Valley Expanded recently and gave some new romanceable characters a shot). However, in my last vanilla playthrough I married Sebastian and I was on year 2, and I had recently found out that your spouse will watch the moonlight jellies with you! I was really excited since I was close to the end of summer, and then I got to the festival and Sebastian said something like “I want to be left alone today” and I felt so bad-
One, it felt like some sort of rejection which fucking sucked. Two, due to the game code (obviously) he was forced to spend time with me watching the jellies anyway. And three, moonlight jellies is my favorite festival and I cried like in real life from that. Mostly because my actual relationship was not going well at the time and it reminded me of them.
Basically, I understand needing time to yourself, but admittedly Sebastian can be kind of a dick sometimes. I was so excited for this festival and he like actually, legitimately ruined it for me. I had to stop playing after that.

Alex isn't a bully tho, he's pretty chill for a jock character actually. He lost his mom as a kid, had an abusive dad and honestly shitty grandpa as a guardian. Man has issues but he handles them 100 times better than Shane. Fake confidence and denial are preferable to alcoholism. Plus that scene at the two hearts in the beach where he opens up about his mom passing away really makes me feel for the guy.
Lost someone he loved so young only for his other source of protection to be a deadbeat alcoholic who abandoned him at his grandparents place. That shit resonates with a lot of people.

@@convallariahalla that last very little and while that is bad he does change his opinion. If i remember the comment he makes its about the games version of football and how he didnt think a girl like us knew or would be able to play. But he does seem happy about being wrong which to me shows he doesnt mean it in a bad way. All the women his age arent exactly sporty so he probably doesnt expect your character to be either.
But like i said, for a jock hes actually really chill. All the younger love interest are stereotypes and they could have made him so much worse for far longer like Shane (who literally tells you to fuck off unless you feed his addiction long enough). Plus if you romance him as a guy his dialogue and mannerism show that he's very repressed and his grandpa doesnt fully like you if you get with him either. Unlike the others who dont really have reservations regardless of your gender, it makes his whole route seem more real to me since he finds himself and comes to realize what he wants doesnt need to be what society or someone else wants for him. Lots of people don't romance him for how he is at surface level but he's actually one of the more 3 dimensional ones to me, at least based on how i perceived his events, dialogue and interacting with his things and family.
J.a.R. u r so right about Alex being one of the most realistic characters out there. To me, he is one of the few who do not adhere to the basic media stereotypes, which would make him simple enough for the audience to understand but deprive of his personality (like it happened to some other characters).
And yes, I agree, he copes with his shit way better than Shane and never plays the victim.
@@convallariahalla well yes, in the beginning he behaves like a jerk, but he voluntarily changes later. No one is perfect (not even u), so people need time to realize their mistakes. For some, like Alex, one of their flaws may be sexism, but if they change their mind why would you still treat them bad?
