Sounds they make, listen to how rathian sounds when they are readying a back flip or fireballs. Grunts roars pants sighs all help more than eyes at times. My favorite is the rusted metal door sound alatreon does before doing the down to the ground ice breath which i s when i clutch claw on and soften it to escape the move but gets some softening and damage.
Just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for these vids. I have been extremely frustrated with the MH content creator sphere for a long time, as the stuff they churn out is usually either very high level speedruns without commentary or extremely low effort "Monster XYZ needs to come back/is my favorite/sucks". Your stuff, on the other hand, is not only well put together (and the voice+music combo is very soothing), but actually breaks down some quite obtuse mechanics and gives the viewer a chance to learn new stuff/improve/reflect. Now, I personally have 2K hours played in 5th Gen alone, so not like I learn all that much from these vids, but had I had access to stuff like this when I began playing, I would have "leveled up" way faster, and even as a "veteran Hunter", I still pick up stuff/see tons of nuances in your work. Sorry for the longish post, but I have been wanting to let you know how great your stuff is for quite some time by now, so here it is. 😂
You don't ever have to apologize for post length, I read them all anyway(while I still can!) Big reason I started making these types of videos. A real lack of people actually teaching the game like weapon guides that just explain the attacks and end the video, meta sets guides, and especially because Capcom has yet to impliment a real training mode/tutorial. I appreciate it greatly!
Don't quote me on this but I believe the behavior at 15:19 happens when Rathian runs too far past you where the backflip is guaranteed to miss, so she repositions to correct that Awesome video tho, super informative, the kind of video I would recommend to any new comer to the series trying to get better... maybe even myself because I never thought of purposefully withholding my attacks in order to "script" a dunk or a flinch, I do that with stuns, mounts and part breaks but in never occurred to me to do it with flinches as well even tho it's so obvious.
Great Video! It really pushes the importance of patience and observation of the monster as opposed to blindly rushing in at full aggression (me), can't wait to apply this in-game and start doing as good as I should for as many hours as I have lol
I'm a monster hunter newbie and this video was VERY helpful! I'm really in love with learning the monsters and getting better in general. I've actually been practicing on rathians and rathalos and seeing your hunt I can see where I can improve 😆 thanks so much again!! ❤
I watched tons of your videos (btw all if them are great and i think you should be way popular among MH community) but i still don't get how to dodge almost unreactable attacks like rathalos charge (yes i know I'm low iq). Even if i sheath my weapon after each attack, i still get hit by it 9 times out of 10.
As showcased in this video, the best answer is usually to anticipate the monster's moves instead of acting purely on reaction. If an attack proves problematic for me, I usually try to fix it in three steps : 1. identify the conditions where the attack can occur 2. identify a safe way to react to the move 3. whenever I notice I'm in a situation where the attack can occur, preemptively make sure my hunter is in a state where I can implement said reaction and be on the lookout for the signs of the attack. With all of this said, a lot of monters have a few very fast but weak attacks that will likely hit you from time to time, even if you know them. Unless you're trying to speedrun, it's perfectly fine. That's why we have potions and nullberries.
@mytho3286 No, you are not low iq for this. I still get swept by Tigrex charge. Rathalos also has tracking in his charge as well as a large hitbox on his body and feet. Mystic and Arthur are right, evade extender could increase your odds(not guarantee) of getting to a safer distance and trying to figure out predict the move really helps. If the attacking and sheathing method is still not working, it may just be a problem of timing. Its important to attack when you know you've got sufficient time to do so since monsters can definitely act fast or chain attacks together, quicker when they're enraged too. It'll probably take a bit of time and a lot of potions but I'm certain it'll come to you. Also, I appreciate that! Slowly working my way up the ladder~
I only played World and Rise but I feel like rise did a much better job at monster ai. It feels more predictable and choreographed, in a good way. I like world more in general but except a few fights the AI feels quite random to me
Sorry, I recorded that off of streamlabs rather than 4K Capture Utility and left the audio at 0.0db. Thanks for letting me know, I'll fix it next time!
"Man, this weapon is hard! I sure wish there was a monster I could practice this on."
The humble Rathian:
Perfect for my dual blades training~
Always for every weapon xD

^This
Hammer mains could never
All brain power is slotted into bonk. Thinking is irrelevant~
0:20 dude the amount of weird looks I get when I tell people rathian is a really good fight is insane
She teaches so much about the game without even trying but I guess since she's an "early game monster" she gets overlooked.

Mmmm, that would definitely make sense that she would do that. And I appreciate it, even I'm still learning some things that were right under my nose~
I was looking for a video like this forever. Thanks for providing.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!

LOL I believe you've got this. You can also still be fully aggressive and calculate at the same time too~
@ true, i’ve just yet to master it even after 500 hours in the series lol

I appreciate it~ I hope you get to where you wanna be, but avoid the sprint, live for the marathon
@@MahnsterHunter I will! thank you so much again!
What a great channel. I learn a lot from these vids. Thanks.
I appreciate that, and you're welcome~!

Evade extender is gonna be your best friend trust me

@saltyluigi4011 Ah...the frame 1 startup that takes 80-100% health...yghghgjghghg
The second hand dopamine fix I’m getting from watching sunbreak SA is real rn.
Yes, good. Let the morph flow through you~
We're back 🔥
A thousand and some change short but we're definitely back!
Very cool
listen dude great video and all but I got the full health bar so I am gonna use the full health bar
Y'all are gettin' full health bars??

Zinogre and Stygian Zinogre in World would be my leading example on that, I definitely had a bad time with their fight in that game.
The Hunt Explained section is a much louder than the talking section, has to turn down the volume.

Why bother, people's egos are so fragile, they rather blame the game or balance than themselves.
Because there are still people willing to learn despite those people that are upset
