    Would love to see a follow up video going through all the non engine parts of the build, including the new suspension. Thanks for sitting down and talking about the build.

    All I know is whatever *Davin* gets into next, I'll be there as always, watching.
    Best damn show on Hagerty, period.
    *Thank You* Hagerty for putting him on his own show!
    P.S. Scrolling back through the comments from viewers in the live chat, I know one thing:
    I'm never going to visit the American Cherokees USA RUclips page.
    (You're welcome "Jeepers Delight").

      You can expect at least 240 horsepower to 300 depending on actual compression numbers..
      Stage 2 and 3 on these engines are making it a 4.7 with horsepower numbers at 400 to 700 depending on added components.
      Just remember to remove all the drive train components and upgrade to one ton units along with the suspension.

    I'm not one to be too concerned with "engine" or "motor" and I also use them interchangeably. I am however one of the "I'll never use an orange Fram filter again" due to a bad experience with the material coming apart internally. Baldwin, Wix, Napa which is Wix, or an OEM will continue to get my money. Even if it is just peace of mind.

    As a rule, I go with OEM filters. Even if 'they're all made by the same company,' OEM filters have a patent on the check valve in the filter. They tend to use a coil spring mechanism at the top of the filter, instead of a poppet valve at the bottom for the relief valve, so that if there is ever a need for the bypass function to continue flow to the engine, you aren't getting the sludge and dirt on the outside of the filter circulating (as much) thru your engine until you can change filters.
    That, and Motorcraft filters tend to cost less than even the walmart brand filter, despite having a superior design.

    As for the fuel pump, unless you are running over 400hp you dont need a "bigger" fuel pump. Stock is fine

    I've got no issue with Fram filters, so long as you buy the top notch Fram, about $8 called "Ultra Synthetic" fiter, with the prefix "XG".
    I've seen many "brands" of filters cut open and all the elements and parts compared. The basic Fram is very poorly constructed in comparison to many others. But what do you expect with $3 or whatever they are.
    Fram XG filters I would put in the same camp as a Purolator Pure One, or K&N, or Bosch, or Wix. You pretty much get what you pay for in filters, usually $8-12 per filter gets you great quality.

    Owned a 1991 XJ, fixed a lot of issues with it, but what surprised me is how bad the gas mileage was on it, for a 4.0L stock straight six, that thing got worse gas mileage than my 7.4 l V8 on my truck!! Never make that mistake again

    I had a Fram filter explode on my 1965 Mustang. Luckily I have an oil pressure gauge, saw the pressure drop, and shut off the engine immediately, saving it. I contacted Fram and spoke to a representative about my incident, and he would not take responsibility for a defective filter. I now use Purolator filters with no issues since then. I won't use Fram filters any more.

    • @brarautorepairs

      Not all Fram filters are bad. I bought a Fram oil filter and it has an OEM filter inside with the OEM marking removed.

    • @exothermal.sprocket
      @exothermal.sprocket 2 года назад

      Go with the most expensive line of Fram, prefix "XG" or called Ultra Synthetic. I've seen them taken apart and they are quality inside. I'd put them in the same category as a Purolator Pure One, Bosch, Mobil, or the like. Figure $8-12.

    Davin, if you ever feel the need to rebuild a 2.5 liter Triumph TR6 engine. I'd haul it up there to Michigan. I have a 72 Triumph TR6 insured through Hagerty. She runs okay but it's not real inspiring and I want to rebuild it, add some compression, a torque cam or fast road cam and make it fun.

    But with the brake in oil, I would still mix up the quarts then pour it in. Call me crazy but when I put in mobile one, I shake every quart . If you don't, look at the bottom of the bottle. Some of the additives are still at the bottom. Just saying. As always gentlemen, great video. Can't wait till the next one!!!

    Alot of the reason why the fan is offset is due to not enough room in the front of the engine.
    The 2.5 engine has the more traditional fan on water pump set up cuz of all the room they have on front

    My opinion: changing the cam to a roller set-up may have been worth it just to avoid having to use a high zinc oil, my reasoning is that zinc kills catalytic converters, and you just replaced the cat.

      Roller cam in a 4.0 can be problematic. The lifter bores are short and they don't have the side support needed for roller.

    Hey guys just like to remind you that you are talking to a world wide audience, not every viewer lives in USA.
    My point being that not every country around the world, have loads of people with Jeep knowledge.
    You appear to take this for granted at 1.04 inti this video by your comments.

    • @YvngCheese
      @YvngCheese 6 месяцев назад

      I do agree they lacked some info, but they also gave a lot mor than they left out. However, how do you think anyone gets knowledge on jeeps. I'm in the US and I wasn't born with all this extra knowledge on jeeps. I gained it by watching videos, joining forms, reading, and buying jeeps. They should however do a detailed writeup on everything they did and post it online for people to use and reference. Something like a manual.

    I hate it for our brothers up North that have to deal with all that halite they put down on the roads during the winter months, eating your good vehicles down to nothing. I’m down South but on more than one occasion have seen underneath vehicles from up there and the damage it does is unbelievable. I’ve seen cars from up there that were only 8 to 10 years old, where their subframes were just literally crumbling to nothing. Sway bars will be missing because all that remains of where the mounts were would just be thin, jagged pieces of rust. It looks like someone dug up an old frame out of the ground that had been buried for 20 years and built a vehicle on it. I’ve never seen anything like it.

      example- steam engine runs on external power (as does an electric engine)
      A motor creates it's own power internally. But the two terms are now a days, interchangeable, but for the most part have reversed their original operational denotation. (In fact both definitions now use the other as examples)
