    I have the Venture X and I absolutely love it!! One of the things that I really wanted in a premium travel card is lounge access. The Venture X gives you access to CO lounges, Plaza Premium and Priority Pass. The card annual fee really pays for it self. I love that they give you 10,000 bonus miles each anniversary. That's a nice perk that I haven't seen on a lot of cards. The VX is a good choice for me bc it's a great middle ground card. With its $395 annual fee, it's travel card that gives you more benefits than a 0 annual fee travel card gets you but it doesn't have a high annual fee like the platinum card which is $700.

    The Amex Platinum is definitely hard to beat across the board! However, as you mentioned, it all really comes down to what credits/perks you value as well as what transfer partners you prefer to use. These are all great options at the end of the day! I'll personally start with the Venture X but foresee myself getting the Platinum card down the line as well. I just can't justify that AF yet!

      @CrowsRevenge1 Год назад +1

      Im running the SavorOne with my venture X. That 3 percent on dining, streaming, entertainment, and groceries helps a lot to maximize. Then you have the 2 percent catch all. Not to mention the Capital one 8 percent on its entertainment and the other ticketing service. AS well as the limited time partnership with uber/uber eats for the 10 percent gains. Granted I'd take this all with a grain of salt as I dont see how Capital One can maintain this card with these rewards while operating at a loss with everyone that keeps the card from year 2 onward. Personally I think it will get the nerf bat eventually. Whether that be a nerf to its earning categories or an overall AF hike, I do believe the current iteration won't last forever.

    • @isaiah1931
      @isaiah1931 Год назад

      @@CrowsRevenge1 Yes I’m debating the SavorOne over the Amex Gold. I’m worried about having to keep up with the credits for too long with the $250 AF. I was also considering the Amex blue cash everyday card with the 3% back on the gas I think I’m going to go with the Citi custom cash card since I can get 5% back on gas alone. Then I want the Venture X but like you said I feel like it’ll get hit soon and the platinum seems a lot more secure in its benefits and credits. Right now I’m leaning the Citi custom cash, the SavorOne and the Platinum. As of now I have the Discover It, the PayPal 2% cashback and the Apple Card. Platinum would be my only AF card and I’d use roughly $1000 in credits per year.

      @@KevinYang(1) To use CSR $300 annual travel credit - they do not require that travel be booked through their portal like VX does. I don't like VX's limitation because we use Airbnb and VRBO a lot. Along with Instacart and Doordash credits, that practically covers the annual fee. (2) How VX processes the annual $300 travel credit is quite inconvenient - you have to wait a couple of statement cycles before the credit shows up in your account unlike CSR (and Amex). I will say that VX's hotel price match is great (easy to do ) and I do like that they identify pet friendly hotels. (3) Priority Pass from CSR includes non-lounge accesses. This gives me additional options that even Amex does not offer.

      @@KevinYang Go Puff isn't in my area. Door Dash pass is useless because they markup their items so I never use it. Instacart has a lot of fees when I go go inside my local store and grab my stuff myself. Only the $300 travel credit can be used by me and then I'm still shelling out $250 compared to less with the Platinum & Venture X.

      @Rezalion if you take Lyft rides often enough that's a pretty useful way to add up the points amd offset the fee

    YMMV, but I was able to get the platinum bonus twice. After 7 years though. There are a few data points suggesting a life time means “5+ years”

      Thanks for the datapoint! I've definitely heard of people getting it after 5-7 years, but 100% YMMV!
