Hello all; Ann K. Castle, David's wife here. I'm so please to see that his music has brought so many beautiful memories to so many. Unfortunately, he passed away just last month form a long battle with cancer. Please keep the music going. His long-time musicians and I are planning a Celebration of his life later this fall. I will see about getting a live streaming of the event on You Tube. Peace to all.
Ann, I am very sorry for your loss. After 40+ years, I have never forgotten this song and I will never forget David's beautiful vocal performance. I hope he knew how much this song meant to so many of us.
Hello Ann. So sorry to hear the news about David. This is a song that takes me right back to the 1970s and my days as a morning radio presenter here in the UK. I would often play this at 07:46 followed by a smart comment about the time! The feedback (to the song) was always amazing and it’s such a shame that it wasn’t a bigger hit. Happy days and great memories. May David rest in peace.
Songs in the past always make me smile, cry, nostalgic. Every time I hear songs in " my generation", all I want to do is step back to the past, linger there and bathe myself with memories way, way back when I was younger. Songs are my "run-to-you" when life is happy, sad, uncertain or simply when it is just as it is, Life.
I was 16 when this record played on the radio. I had just start working in open plane office with 40 ladies. I was the only male in the office. Seeing all the lovely ladies in their makeup was like working in a fashion show. This record will always reminds me of those days...What great memories to a fantastic song. Thank you David.
This song bring back memories when i was in college in the 80's, life then was very easy, no celphone, computer, netflix etc.., also bring back good memories of my first love
Back in 1970 David was a Freshman music major at Virginia Commonwealth University and took me up to the Class-Piano room (which were all Rhodes pianos) and played "If You Feel the Same Way That I Do" several years before the Lettermen recorded it. What a special memory. This guy showed up at conservatory with more talent than most graduates leave with!
Thankyou this song has special memories for me of another carefree time when I was young and life was so simple back then. You bought a smile to my face thankyou and sorry to hear hes no longer with us makes me sad now God bless. 🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️😍👏👍🙏🌹🌹😳❤️😮
Years ago I first heard this song and liked it but did not get its title, only the refrain. Yesterday I heard it again on my favorite FM station. Thanks to Google I know its title and the rest of the lyrics. Wonderful tune with an otherwise ordinary story of a daily routine. My condolences Ann. Thanks to David for composing this.
Same here. I've heard this decades ago but never did catch the title. Recently, thanks to Google, I now know its title and artist. Such a nostalgic song!
Wow, so classical, from the title itself gives us a message that time is important and your can't turned it back anymore, so for me it sends us a lesson that live life to the fullest
Reminds me of having the first place of my own, back in 1977. Heard this on the radio, one morning before going to work. To me this says everything about hoe the 'perfect ballad' should sound. Thanks so much for sharing.. :)
I am always feelin' in love every time I flip cyberman000051 compilation of romantic songs...great music, nice video.Thank You cyberman000051,bless you for bringing us back to our individual golden memories..
I remember walking into a record in Ann Arbor, MI back in '77 and this record store was playing one of their own promotional recordings for new artists / albums....and I heard 2 recordings from the David Castle ( debut ) album, featuring " The Loneliest Man On the Moon" and "Ten to Eight". I loved this song from the first time I heard it...and the fact that it never became a hit made it even more special to me because it never became overplayed. David Castle was on a subsidiary label of Casablanca Records (Parachute) and at the time I'm pretty sure Casablanca was too busy pumping their money into Donna Summer, Kiss and The Village People. This song never got the props it deserved.
my high school seatmate brought 'song hits' to school one day and we started humming then singing this song and we got penalized by the teacher for singing ha ha ha. great song!
