Static issue started about 2 weeks after I received my Nick Johnston. Likely the dry air where I live. Had same issue with a Squire Tele. Lining the back of the pick guard with foil will likely be required.
Just got one myself. The push pull knob can be fixed for 8 dollars. Go to Amazon and get some chrome metal knurled knobs. Problem solved! Just like the custom shop version!
Hello Juca, I also have one in SSS configuration and you described the guitar very well. It's a fantastic strat, especially the slightly wider neck with the full volume of wood probably makes the good tone. But I also have this extreme static crackling that really annoys me. Now, after half a year, I have sent it back to Thomann for a repair. Since I really want to hold it, the pickguard may have to be glued on from below with copper foil and attached to the ground. I suspect the pickguard is made of the wrong material. The guitar is awesome. Thanks and regards Goetz
I had the static noise. The pickup cavity is shielded with a spray, its not making contact with the copper shielding on the back of the pickguard. I connected the cavity shielding and pickguard shielding with a bit of coppertape.
Ive got one and also have trouble with static.......it's really annoying but like you I love the guitar! Can't believe Schecter didn't get this sorted.
Fala Juca!! Parabéns Review!!! Queria lhe perguntar a cor da guitarra.. E também sobre a questão da espessura do braço, seria uma braço fino próximo de guitarras como Ibanez, Music Man... ou seria um braço mais gordo?
Yeah, the electric gradient in Indonesia is completely different to Portugal, hence the static. It’s to do with the longitude of your location. Indonesian guitars are only good in the Southern Hemisphere.
It's grounded that's not the issue. Already happened to other guitars. The thing is, since I rubbed alcohol into it, the static was gone. Yes, alcohol! Cheers
@@JucaNeryGuitar my Don Grosh strat does that in Winter months When the humidity is low…..I use dryer/laundry antistatic spray. Reason why I said ; Check the ground is I got a fender Strat that was not grounded a few months ago. Cheers
Great playing and indeed a stunning guitar :) got the sss version myself. If you could do a patch set that gets the best out of it, i would buy it in a heartbeat!

I've had my N.J. model for about a year. I had the frets leveled and a treble bleed installed. Love that low action. Man just a great guitar.
Thanks for sharing!
Usually going out of tune is not the tuners but the nut. Might wanna check that on the charvel.
Thanks :)
Check the FM switch, no static at all!

Many thanks for your feedback. Many people complain about that on this guitar. All the best.
@@JucaNeryGuitar Thanks 👍
@@JucaNeryGuitar Nice to hear some Knopfler Licks on the 4. Position. For me the Tumnus deluxe is the perfect dude.

True!!! The really weird thing is that using alcohol with cotton and rubbing a bit now and then makes the static totally go away!!! Try it :) Cheers
Oh boy, that's the review I was looking for.
Awesome :) Cheers
ordering one of these soon. hoping i don’t get that static issue
Did you get one yet. Let us know if you have the static issue
@@Terrysoddy i got one, no static issues at all
This guitar inlays look very light in color, almost invisible, or is it a problem with the shooting angle?
they are very light indeed, but enough and you won't get lost. Cheers
Hi great demo, what distortion pedal or drive you're using on this video?
Many thanks, it's just the Katana, no external pedals. Cheers
What do you think is better: schecter nick johnston or cort g300 pro?
No idea to be honest. The Cort does look great! :)
Vola guitars…

Boas, a cor é Atomic Green. Sim, muito fino, tipo Ibanez. Abraço

Yeah, I put some alcohol and it went away definitely! lol. Thanks
@@JucaNeryGuitar so you just rubbed alcohol on it and it went away
Yes. But it comes back eventually. I had to do it again yesterday.
Maybe it’s not grounded? Check the springs by the whammy bar in the back of the guitar is where they ground it.

Been really interested in the SSS version of these since they came out! Sounds awesome!
Great guitar!!! :)
There's nothing wrong with the guitar. If you experience static then use a humidifier to get the air humidity higher. Dry air causes static.
dryer sheets remove static
Static? What are you saying. Buzzing noise?
No static electricity.
@@JucaNeryGuitarand what about buzzing noise? Effective noise or noiseless? (Without the katana noise filter ...)
@@p.g.pg38 No noise at all.
Thanks for the overview, really helpfull
Thanks man :) Cheers
Dying to get one of those. Omg!!!!! Nice.
Get it!!! :)))) Cheers
Fret job on mine was poor but I think fret leveling is going to be expected on any non custom shop guitar. Great guitar
Cool demo, awesome playing!
Many thanks 🙏🏻
Muito bom... tocas muito. Parabéns
Great playing... great review!
Thanks man :) Cheers

Cheer mate :)
Just wipe the pickguard with a wet cloth and the problem with static will disappear.
I did that and it didn’t work. So I used alcohol!! Yes! And now it’s gone. No idea why! Lol
@@JucaNeryGuitaralcohol is a better electrical conductor than water. The electrons pass easyer from the pickguard to the rag....
@@p.g.pg38 Yeah but it works!
Some great tones with that guitar!!! Hope you figure out the static issues.
Thanks :) Returned it, new one on the way :)
