I just got this guitar and have thought about returning it solely because I can’t see the fret inlays (I don’t know why they’ve done it the way they did) but otherwise I LOVE playing it. Going to just mod the inlays as you’ve done here because aside from that, it’s a dream strat for me
Hi Jon...hope you're doing great...there is a relatively new Schecter guitar model that I'm very interested in, and that is the MV 6...I haven't played one yet, but I've located one online that is in our area, so I plan on checking it out...I would say, based on what I have found so far, is that the neck feel is very similar to the Nick Johnston model, except it is a 24 fret guitar...it has locking tuners, a trem that I think is similar, if not, the same as the Nick Johnston...I think it's design is geared for those who just really prefer a 24 fret guitar...it is a 2 pickup design, with slanted pickups, a humbucker config in the bridge position, and a single coil in the neck position, and has a 5 way switch that is, based on what I have watched and read, unique in it's capability to make certain combinations...it can get quacky like a strat, in I think the 3 position...and very tele sounding as well in one of the combinations...you may have already reviewed it, so am going to check...regardless, I'm going to watch this video because I consider them kind of similar besides the 22 vs the 24 fret thing...cheers!

I got SSS version of this guitar few months ago. So far I haven't seen any need to modify it all. I haven't had any tuning issues with the trem system either which is great. Only problem I have is they this is the only guitar I want to play. I have seriously considered selling my Les Paul and Fender. But then I wouldn't have humbucker! Maybe that Jack Fowler is answer to my problem.

I got the Schecter NJ for about 2 years and is one of the best guitars I’ve played ever. Going to upgrade to the Graphtech tuners. Are the tuner mounting plates the PRT-952-214? Also, how stable is the Vega trem? Thanks for the video 👍

Very curious about luminlay dots on the fretboard. They look awesome. Did you have to send your guitar away for that ? Are the brass circles still there , or did they have to remove them? That looks like quite an undertaking. That is one thing I don’t particularly like, the brass circles are nice but they’re not very visible.

Jon don't ever underestimate your ability to express real and soulful melodies. You are a kickass player!!! I have a question: Did you have to replace either of the pots? I was thinking of doing a pickup swap on mine (already hss). Sometimes I feel that the humbucker sounds muffled in a way and am wondering if the pots are 250k. Thanks for all you do!
Hi Jon , love your videos… many thanks for doing them I have just bought the orange NJ hss….. it doesn’t keep tune … super guitar thought So I’m considering the vega trem.., thing is the action on the guitar is very high already I cannot do a working set up where the action is low … & I think you mentioned in another video that the vega trem makes the action even higher on the NJ … should I need to worry about this ???
No it doesn’t make the action higher.. it depends on the guitars. I had no problems with installing the Vega trem on the NJ. But before getting the Vegatrem, why don’t you work on the nut or get someone to take a look?
Hello Jon Thank you for your reply I figured out my problem , the truss rod was way too tightened Wonderingly if there were any trade offs with installation of the vega trem… regarding tonality & or sustain considering the lighter/ thinner block

Does it come like that from the factory ? makes me wonder why they route is so far next to the pickups area. Does it fit a vega trem as a direct drop in ? How would you rate the factory fretwork on these ? Assuming you didn't have the frets done prior to demoing them here :)

Hello Jon! :). Very nice smooth tone, and playing. I do though touch the volume knob on my Ibanez Strat all the time while playing, and palm muting, makes it turn down, do you also experience this issue? :P. I might consider some kind of round rubber thing to place under the knob to fix the issue.
@@JonIsJustTooLoud I accidentally hit the volume knob while playing :P. So when I do it turns down the volume as knob turns. I don't use volume knob, so I'll try to figure out how I can make it doesn't move.
Have you played the Sterling cutlass ct50? If so how would you compare the neck to your schecter? I can’t find a ct50 near me so I am having trouble comparing.
I don’t like the Vegatrem unfortunately I am returning it …The biggest problem with the vegratrem after tremolo is installed you cannot remove all the strings 😩 the normal Floyd Rose is easier to setup…
Jon....So it's not really a Nick Johnston model anymore then.....It's almost completely new.....so it leads me to believe that the Nick Johnston model is not so beautiful....? haha!

I did not replace any pots at all.. maybe in the future.. but for now the guitar sounds great at it is ✌️❤️

Hello Jon! :). Very nice smooth tone, and playing. I do though touch the volume knob on my Ibanez Strat all the time while playing, and palm muting, makes it turn down, do you also experience this issue? :P. I might consider some kind of round rubber thing to place under the knob to fix the issue.

@@JonIsJustTooLoud I accidentally hit the volume knob while playing :P. So when I do it turns down the volume as knob turns. I don't use volume knob, so I'll try to figure out how I can make it doesn't move.
how do you clean that unfinished maple neck+fretboard? i got the same one (just tuned the pickguard to satin black and it looks killer)
take off the strings...and wipe it down with a guitar polisher...for gunk..use a credit card to scrape off..✌♥
Have you played the Sterling cutlass ct50? If so how would you compare the neck to your schecter? I can’t find a ct50 near me so I am having trouble comparing.

I don’t like the Vegatrem unfortunately I am returning it …The biggest problem with the vegratrem after tremolo is installed you cannot remove all the strings 😩 the normal Floyd Rose is easier to setup…
