Lets be honest. This film was meant for a certain audience that actually enjoys Kickboxer 4, Balance of Power, Bloodfist 3, etc. The fight scenes and soundtrack were amazing and yes, its not the best movie but I enjoyed it a lot and thought Viking Samurai rocked it.

Take this into consideration. Crowd funded film no multi-million dollar budget. Fight scenes hella dope and well choreographed. This movie was 10x better than Indiana Jones and the dial of destiny lol. They had a multi million dollar budget as well. As a retro martial arts movie fan I highly recommend watching it! 💪

I love the throwback lines in that movie. Kurt McKinney's character Damon Spears being called a "coward" by Marcus Gantz. Just like Jason Stillwell called his dad a coward in No Retreat No Surrender. Marcus Gantz' parallels with JCVD's Frank Dux. His friendship with a fighter and when the main villain struck him, he would avenge him like in Bloodsport.
Just watched the film. In my opinion, the story could have been written a little more subtle. But after all, it is a fighting film and I really enjoyed action scenes! Matthias and Mike were soo creepy..loved it! David, your performance was amazing! Keep up the great work! Hope you reach the stars, but always stay grounded. All the best!

I’ll be truthful, your role was easily the most likeable character. The one guy said he sees a bright future in action film, I’d have to agree fully. You wouldn’t have been cast if that torch wasn’t getting handed to you, but I have one complaint- I couldn’t hear anything you were saying over the roar of those guns of yours bro 🤙🏻 (The fact that you got to meet and star with such legends is unbelievable)

Hi Viking Samurai, THE LAST KUMITE is a movie for fans made by fans. I supported the kickstarter campaign and watched the movie a few days ago and I will watch it many times in the future. THE LAST KUMITE is a Retro Martial Arts Movie at it's Best, I love it. Kurt McKinney and Matthias Hues acting is good, they have for sure the most experience. Billy Blanks surprised me because his emotional acting is very convincing. But last but not least I have to say that besides your great martial-arts skills your acting was really good,so far as I know this was your first acting role, so great respect to you Viking Samurai. To every movie fan, if you like movies like BLOODSPORT, NO RETREAT NO SURRENDER (KARATE TIGER in Germany), KICKBOXER you will also like THE LAST KUMITE and please keep in mind that this movie was made with a very very small budget but it was made with hard work and with heart and soul. So go for it and NEVER SURRENDER.
Yeah, Kurt McKinney and Matthias Hues acting were clearly the best (mostly Kurt), but I was impressed by VikingSamurai's acting for being a new actor, he wasn't stiff.

I’m gonna go buy a copy of this at Walmart… All I can say is this is right up my alley, I’m gonna be 44 years old in the end of August, and these kind of movies got me through my youth. Sidenote, it’s really cool to see a good action star wearing a cross around his neck. Knowing somebody is cool with Jesus Christ, is awesome 🤙🏻
The Last Kumite just became one of my favorite film's of 2024. I was happy to buy it getting on digital. I'm happy i pre-ordered the Blu-ray/ 4K it was a great throwback to the 80's/90's Martial Arts flims. I'm not upset that Rothrock didn't fight much she did a great job along side Billy Blanks mentoring the character Michael Rivers who was played by Mathis Landwehr. He did a great job, I knew he was gonna do well despite some expected Scott Adkins or JCVD to be in it. Viking it did well on it too, so best of luck on your future projects. Anyone reading this don't be afraid to follow your dreams....
I am going to be honest here Dave. I thought this movie going to be bad and it is. the Acting the line delivering the fight sound effect everything looked sounded just so amateur. Some of the fights are well choreographed but most of the actors were just bad. The Heavy looked laughable and so bad at acting. Some fighters are just terrible choice buy the casting department. I love blood sport don't get me wrong and kick boxer all van damme films but this is just not even close to any good fight movies from the 80s 90s. I am sorry but this movie is just bad. Even the cinematographer and the angels he picked just made the film look so outdated with the editing. You were the best thing in the whole movie. you acted good. you should of played the main role not that guy. Congrats for the role you need a good agent and pick better films if you can. Hats of to the producer writer for completing the film but I am sure he can do better than this next time.

I've been following the updates for a while now and as soon as I saw a physical release I jumped on it! Soundtrack and dialogue are a perfect homage to all the classic martial arts films from the 80s. There's plenty of kick ass realistic fighting, brilliant choreography, this movies a must for any fan of 80s/early 90s martial arts movies. Watched "The Last Kumite", just last week on DVD in the UK. Some of the acting was a bit off at times but you were really good most of the time, for me you and Kurt McKinney made it so much fun. As did most of the cast, the fights were incredible as they looked so brutal I felt that some of the guys got hit hard. 4/5 stars. Will watch again soon. Thanks guys and girls.

It was good seeing Viking him doing martial scenes out there. Even if in a movie. Commentating on martial arts is one thing, but actually seeing it in done is another thing. It’s funny the artists who actually competed Blanks and cynthia, did some cameo martial arts at the end. Not certain if haus ever competed. So it was cool.
I’ll be honest when I heard about a film like “The Last Kumite” I was nervous but after seeing the film I have to say I was very very impressed. The stunt work was phenomenal first of all, along with the cinematography, but I think the charm it had of its own is we now get to see multiple generations of martial artists in a film together. Also I really liked the character you played, looking forward to future projects 💪🏻

Only watched it in German so far but the dubbing was done great and your acting together with the dubbed voiceover worked well for me. It was funny though how cool you took it when the two dudes were shot in front of you. In German you basically just say to your mate „these guys are stone cold, man“ 😂
Decent Budgets dont necessarily mean Decent movies. This is proven by kickboxer vengeance, and retaliation. Bloodsport, and the original Kickboxer had a certain charm that money just can't buy. Unfortunately Last Kumite didn't have a budget , or this charm, and I could list off hundreds of things that were wrong with it. But i wont! Because it really showed me it's potential for the future. After watching it I have to say I was really suprised at how good Viking was ( And I've been a harsh critic of his in the past) but he had a great onscreen presence, and charisma, and his acting was far better and suited to these types if movies than most if not all the cast. For me the lead actor, and villain were terrible. I think if this movie had a million dollar budget, was shot in Asia , with Viking samurai in the lead role, and Bolo yeung jr as the villain it really Could have been something.
Hey Viking, Me and my twin Brother have been big fans for years. We’re Vandamme fans like you and fitness. I just saw the last KUMITE. Man the film literally brought me to tears more than once.. but the last time it happened was when you showed up as the undercover cop at the end. I absolutely love this film and to me it was just absolutely 100% perfect.

Just watched "the Last Kumite" takes me back to younger days. So many references to so so many martial arts films. Not to mention so many martial arts legends!! Definitely a labor of love, and fun movie. Nostalgia is a big factor for me. Looking forward to more from the Viking Samurai 😎

Learned about all this from the SBIG channel and almost overhyped it for myself. Once I put my 80s eyes and brain in place, it was just a great silly 80s martial arts flick and it was great to see the old and new torch carriers mingle. Ya did a great job. Cheers.
Just finished watching The Last Kumite. Very happy with how it turned out. Got to see the debut of Viking Samurai David Kurzhal, he's the reason I was able to be a part of this project. This movie is full of my martial arts heroes from the 80s and 90s. It's nice to see a martial arts film without a ton of cgi. Billy Blanks is a personal hero of mine, Mattis Hues was a great bad guy and Cynthia Rothrock just rounded out the cast. Caught my name in the special thanks section of the credits. Definitely a fun throwback movie just like they intended. Congrats David! I look forward to your future projects.
1st of all congratulations for the movie, it must be feel dream come true being in movie with such legends, as of movie, as soon as music kicked in I recognised who would be composer, man from bloodsport! it has a lot nostalgia feel! also, I was afraid that you would have cameo or minor role, glad you had more time than expected, if I have to complain, just some hits felt like not doing impact (like they stopped solid distance from target) overall I would give it solid 6 or 6.5 for what it is, it needs high budget sequel or spin-off for Gantz!
Honest review. I thought some some that Kumite started a bit too late, hour in, and when it did fights were over very quickly. Having said that, I know this is a very low budget film and fights were put together minutes before the shooting. Its understandable. I thought all the leads did good with acting, some others did not. Viking Samurai's acting was good, which was a surprising since it was his first major role and it was bigger part then I was expected. Well done, VS. But again, some of the fights, damn too short, man. Quality of fights varied from good to not so due to some people not being able to do screen fighting, but I saw that they were fighters in real life but did not do good with choreo which is again, was put together last minute. Overall, a good film. I hope there is a sequel despite the title and I hop;e they have more time and money to do fights better.

Hey Viking. Congrats on film. I’m a huge fan of 80’s-90’s martial arts films. I will be purchasing The Last Kumite to add to my collection. Is this film connected to Bloodsport? Is Frank Dux mentioned? Can’t wait to see the film. Congrats again!

It was good seeing Viking him doing martial scenes out there. Even if in a movie. Commentating on martial arts is one thing, but actually seeing it in done is another thing.
It’s funny the artists who actually competed Blanks and cynthia, did some cameo martial arts at the end. Not certain if haus ever competed. So it was cool.
I’ll be honest when I heard about a film like “The Last Kumite” I was nervous but after seeing the film I have to say I was very very impressed. The stunt work was phenomenal first of all, along with the cinematography, but I think the charm it had of its own is we now get to see multiple generations of martial artists in a film together. Also I really liked the character you played, looking forward to future projects 💪🏻

Only watched it in German so far but the dubbing was done great and your acting together with the dubbed voiceover worked well for me. It was funny though how cool you took it when the two dudes were shot in front of you. In German you basically just say to your mate „these guys are stone cold, man“ 😂

Decent Budgets dont necessarily mean Decent movies. This is proven by kickboxer vengeance, and retaliation. Bloodsport, and the original Kickboxer had a certain charm that money just can't buy. Unfortunately Last Kumite didn't have a budget , or this charm, and I could list off hundreds of things that were wrong with it. But i wont! Because it really showed me it's potential for the future. After watching it I have to say I was really suprised at how good Viking was ( And I've been a harsh critic of his in the past) but he had a great onscreen presence, and charisma, and his acting was far better and suited to these types if movies than most if not all the cast. For me the lead actor, and villain were terrible. I think if this movie had a million dollar budget, was shot in Asia , with Viking samurai in the lead role, and Bolo yeung jr as the villain it really Could have been something.

Man the film literally brought me to tears more than once.. but the last time it happened was when you showed up as the undercover cop at the end. I absolutely love this film and to me it was just absolutely 100% perfect.

Just watched "the Last Kumite" takes me back to younger days. So many references to so so many martial arts films. Not to mention so many martial arts legends!! Definitely a labor of love, and fun movie. Nostalgia is a big factor for me. Looking forward to more from the Viking Samurai 😎
The whole film, along with the actors, displayed a better time in life and what is most important. These are great people. Dvd on order.

They aren't supposed to be Academy award nominations, they move you forward quickly to the good stuff - the action! Ps. 2 martial arts films that never get a mention are the perfect weapon and angel town - check em out for some more 80's action!

I haven't seen the movie. But just from seeing small clips on this channel, it immediately struck me that the lead actor was miscast.

Learned about all this from the SBIG channel and almost overhyped it for myself. Once I put my 80s eyes and brain in place, it was just a great silly 80s martial arts flick and it was great to see the old and new torch carriers mingle. Ya did a great job. Cheers.

Just finished watching The Last Kumite. Very happy with how it turned out. Got to see the debut of Viking Samurai David Kurzhal, he's the reason I was able to be a part of this project. This movie is full of my martial arts heroes from the 80s and 90s. It's nice to see a martial arts film without a ton of cgi. Billy Blanks is a personal hero of mine, Mattis Hues was a great bad guy and Cynthia Rothrock just rounded out the cast. Caught my name in the special thanks section of the credits. Definitely a fun throwback movie just like they intended. Congrats David! I look forward to your future projects.

1st of all congratulations for the movie, it must be feel dream come true being in movie with such legends, as of movie, as soon as music kicked in I recognised who would be composer, man from bloodsport! it has a lot nostalgia feel! also, I was afraid that you would have cameo or minor role, glad you had more time than expected, if I have to complain, just some hits felt like not doing impact (like they stopped solid distance from target) overall I would give it solid 6 or 6.5 for what it is, it needs high budget sequel or spin-off for Gantz!

I haven't watched the Last Kumite just yet but soon I will. I saw a few short Footages of it and so far it looks AMAZING!
Honest review.
I thought some some that Kumite started a bit too late, hour in, and when it did fights were over very quickly.
Having said that, I know this is a very low budget film and fights were put together minutes before the shooting. Its understandable.
I thought all the leads did good with acting, some others did not. Viking Samurai's acting was good, which was a surprising since it was his first major role and it was bigger part then I was expected. Well done, VS.
But again, some of the fights, damn too short, man. Quality of fights varied from good to not so due to some people not being able to do screen fighting, but I saw that they were fighters in real life but did not do good with choreo which is again, was put together last minute.
Overall, a good film. I hope there is a sequel despite the title and I hop;e they have more time and money to do fights better.
"Real fighters" or should I say ring fighters do not always look the best when taken out of the ring.
@@antimediaman9354that is what i meant. The one eye guy looked stiff and as if he did not know what hr was doing but i saw the way he lands a low kick and his shadow boxing and noticed that he knew how to do it for real but for the screen he did not.

Ok, just got done watching it. It was pretty good, the acting made me cringe hard ASF, which is only natural considering it carries that 80s-90s Martial Arts movie aura. Besides that, this film I'll say has replay value, I'd watch it again 👌🏾.
