Im sure you could have used the AutoTune to correct the notes she was struggling with.
To get it on pitch, yes, but pitch is only one part of singing.

Which mic did you use and whats your recording chain? Is it just going to an interface or you have outboard gear?
U87 to Apogee Duet. Not the best chain in the universe, but got the job done.
