I may be agnostic, but there's always been something about this woman's singing and message that are comforting.
atheist, and I agree
@@SwaggLikeYazz same, and Cassie is one of the most powerful songs i've ever heard
Imagine how getting saved feels bro. It’s like the feeling she gives you but constantly. Then bro, imagine have that euphoria for eternity. I imagine that’s how heaven feels. Research Pascal’s wager. If I believe my whole life and die just to find out I was wrong I’ve lost nothing...BUT if I deny God and die just to find out I’m wrong........
Beautiful voice for sure. Check out the acoustic version if you want to really focus on her with this song
Atheist here...music is music, loved their music since they came out. IMO some of their unreleased tracks are better than their albums.
This song is about the day she encountered god the night she almost took her own life.
Spot on man !!!
Fuck that's deep
@@surgedeb it's ok relax. They are her words not mine.
surgedeb true Christians don’t get angry over if someone capitalized God or not, I’m sure God doesn’t criticize over it, get over it.
Yea that’s what happened lol
The entire chorus to this song is all bible verses.
“I can feel you all around me” psalm 139:5
“Thickening the air I’m breathing” 1 kings 8:10-12
“Holding onto what I’m feeling” psalm 91:14-16
“Savoring this heart that’s healing” psalm 147:3
Hands down, one of my favorite songs!
😲😳😳
What bible do you read ser? None of this lyrics was in the bible ☺️ especially does verses you claimed was on it
So Jesus has a copyright claim?
What?! That's awesome!!!!!!! Never knew that!!
@@anapham4724 real ana from real og? oh mien gud! xD
This song is about her life,
When she was younger she was on the verge of talking her life when she then cried out to God,
And feeling that embrace and the joy she finally found and has never lost. Beautiful song.
No it’s about God
@@heavenhancock2002 it’s about the point in her life when she turned to God
@@heavenhancock2002 She literally talks about this situation here: ruclips.net/video/dJIaVQBhjF8/видео.html @lukeleason3320 was 100% right.
yes, it's about god. A song you would enjoy even more by flyleaf is "Again"
Definitely. That’s the one other song by them I would say is essential listening. “Cassie” is a potential second, but if he doesn’t know it’s about Columbine then I don’t know if he’ll catch that on first listen
Treasure is another beauty
God*
Fully Alive is not to be forgotten.
Cassie would be tight
She’s so nice! She played a venue i ran the sound board for and she was so sweet. Her personally engineer missed his flight so I got to mix her set, Her manager paid me extra out of his own pocket because he was so happy with the sound. One of the coolest shows I’ve ever worked to this day. Her whole crew were amazing and easy to work with. Not every band/artist has such a pleasant crew with them.
Lacey is an phenomenal artist. Her voice, energy, testimony, are all amazing. She seems to be a genuinely beautiful person inside and out...
Well, not inside... nothing beautiful about marginalizing a group of people because of their sexuality.
@@TheRealKSmith she doesn't hate people who live homosexual lifestyles. No Christ follower hates people who practice homosexuality. Just because Jesus, the Bible and the Church calls out homosexuality as a sin does NOT mean that those who are living a homosexual lifestyle are relegated to being hated. In fact, Jesus died because He loved sinners (all humans have sinned and fallen short) and He wanted to make a way for us humans to be able to be restored to right relationship with Himself (the only way to do that was for blood to be shed - we deserved death because we sin- so He paid our debt with His own blood). For all who wish to claim this undeserved, unearnable, gift - He says for us to receive His blood bought grace, pick up our cross (die to ourselves), follow Him, and we get to be in relationship with Him, and partner with Him in sharing His Good News! Those who follow Jesus are not Perfect, we still sin, but, we are in a process of being transformed - dying to ourselves, acknowledging when we screw up, and repenting (doing an about face from our sin, rather than indulging in it or being apathetic toward it). God does the heart-work and the washing us clean bit (we can't make ourselves clean or stop sinning without Him). But for any of this to happen, people have to know that sin is real, and what it is (including homosexuality). That doesn't mean that those who are living a homosexual lifestyle are any worse than any other human who is caught in any other sin - it is important to acknowledge that it is sin however. If you were playing with broken glass, it would be hateful and wrong for someone to tell you that playing with broken glass was perfectly acceptable and not harmful... it would be kind and loving for someone to acknowledge that playing with glass is harmful and dangerous... but it would be hateful if they gave you that warning and then called you an evil freak for playing with broken glass... likewise, acknowledging and proclaiming that homosexuality is a sin is not hateful but actually kind and loving. If someone then went on to say that those in a homosexual lifestyle were evil freaks, then it would be hateful. We need to know that we are sick and in need of healing if we are ever to turn to Jesus to meet that need (Only he can Restore us). The amazing thing is that Jesus died for us while we were still sinning! Because He loves us despite how broken we all are. I pray that you meet the man and enter into friendship with Him and recieve Him as your personal Lord and Savior! Regardless of you are or what you choose, you are loved - I just hope you accept that love while you can 🙂❤
@@TheRealKSmith I was concerned about that at one point too. But in a live video on facebook, she said when asked about it that she has particular love for the lgbt community and "would probably hug them tighter in a line of fans". So if she's marginalizing anybody, it is heterosexuals. Just kidding!
@@TheRealKSmith Quit virtue signalling, you insufferable ass.
For contrast, “I’m So Sick” has gotta be the next song from them for a listen
He has

clemente villescas yeah you are right thanks
Hey buddy, yes shes singing about her relationship with God. Lacey Sturm is a born again Christian. Shes a beautiful soul! She has a unique voice! You rock my friend! God bless you!!
Layedbak: Did I connect the dots?
Me in DJ Khaled's voice: You smart
this had me laughing
same lol
The song is about the lead singers first encounter with God when she was an atheist, and the song describes how she felt in that moment
To bad she turned homophobic as fuck after "finding" God and joining a Church.
@@TheRealKSmith what do you mean too bad? It's her personal opinion. She still allowed to have her own beliefs in America right? That hasn't changed yet has it?
@@shadycnetwork Oh sorry, I must have missed the latest news cycle of another person getting fired and my name was chosen to replace them in the Government...
Just like you stated, she can have her opinions, I have mine as well. Calling Homosexuality a sin, is disrespectful to the American Dream and anti-christian itself. You are suppose to love, care, and support no matter what the person is.
@@TheRealKSmith the amarican dream is offensive to my spiritual life style how bout that
@@deaddegenerategeneration7441 If only there was someone to give a fuck about it...
I’ve yet to hear another voice as unique as hers
Not exactly the same, but a friend of Lacey's plays similar music and has a great voice - Jen Ledger. She is part of the band Skillet, but she has a side solo project under the name LEDGER. Check her out. I bet you'll like her!
I'm not into all this god stuff, as in I'm an Atheist. I've always enjoyed many christian rock bands though, and this was one of the best of my teenage years.. Great song!
See i came from Christianity this was basically some of the only rock music I was encouraged to sing. It holds a place in my childhood.
@@tylerbarrett5 It's great to know that you were able to enjoy good music like this at least :)
@@anil9653 for sure. I listen to everything nowadays. I like seeing views from all over even religion wise.
Same. I’m an atheist but love bands like flyleaf, RED, POD. Good music is good music.
Yeah not into religion but I definitely rocked out to some Anberlin
*The band said that they are Christians who made rock music. One of my all time faves*❤
I didn’t know until pretty recently that flyleaf is a Christian band and I’ve been listening to them for a long time. Now I’m like, oh their songs make a lot more sense now
Yes she is talking about God, she was converted as a Christian. She have an interview about her past life experience and how She Encounter Jesus Christ.
DUDE so cool seeing you review Fly Leaf, was just playing them. Mad respect for reviewing all type of styles
"Rot" by lacey sturm is 🔥🔥🔥
Dude this song changed my views on rock music as a kid. From beginning to end the song is amazing, from vocals, to lyrics to the guitar, the drums EVERYTHING 👏🤯
This song is about Lacey’s spiritual revelation, she left the band after a few years of music, she’s been documented about her connection with God and she sees how the world is departing from what was and how it’s turning into something ugly, she felt that she had fulfilled her purpose in music and gave the keys to Kristen May, who is also a religious person, to keep the band going and since produced good music. Lacey decided to be a stay at home mom and raise a family. She’s the most humbled woman in the rock industry and frankly one of my all time favorite bands
I used to listen to this band and it took me 6 years to realize that this is a Christian band...one my favorite band ♥️
Alot of bands are afraid of the "Christian band" label and I get why! Society dont embrace the Christian band like they do others. I think alot of people avoid the genre all together...... I just like good music, idc if you talking about god, the devil, love or hate. Talent is talent and she got the vocal talent for sure
Finally a RUclipsr I like reacted to this song!!! My heart is literally bursting with Joy!!!! You have no idea!!😭😊💗
Christian artist...I love her voice she's one of my favorite singers
Flyleaf was sooo good. Lacey (lead singer) is still making music under her own name, and she is easily one of the best female christian artists.
Edit: you definitely connected the dots at the end my guy 🔥
My friend sent me this album when I was in the hospital going through chemo ( I’m good now, cancer free ). I was never very religious but this album just made me feel good. Glad I’m not the only one who feels that.
Congrats man. I hope you're still good.
Lacey Sturm's passion, energy, faith, and genuine love make her shine so bright I could be completely blind and still see her. Flyleaf has a lot of great music, glad you enjoyed it my man.
Makes me so happy to see someone react to flyleaf I grew up on Christian rock like this
A banger, a hopeful song, a song full of faith. I love this song. ✨✨✨
AGAIN... by Flyleaf YOU WILL LOVE IT 🔥👍🏻🤘🏻
This is about god! She is featured on a song with a christian band called Third Day. The song is “Born Again”.
Flyleaf is such a great band I love Lacey sturm has such a an amazing voice. “Fully Alive” should be the next song for you to react to!
I'm not a religious person, consider myself an atheist but the first flyleaf album is an overlooked masterpiece. Listen to it on the regular. The hidden positivity in it is what I love
I discovered flyleaf back when we still had Virgin music stores back in 2006. I have been a fan ever since. I like Lacey's solo joint Life Screams with her new band. However, I like the old band too even when they got Kristen May on lead vocals after Lacey left, I still bought the 2014 album Between The Stars. Flyleaf and Lacey Sturm are 🔥🔥. I do wish she would reunite with her old band. They had chemistry and a specific sound that, if possible, could demolish a building.
Yes Flyleaf is a Christian rock group.
Dd
And that’s why Lacy left the cult
Zeee What cult?
Zeee lacy left because she had a family and didn’t want to travel after having children lol. she’s continued doing work on the side with her own stuff and skillet (another christian band).. so idk what you’re talkin about lol
Lacy has stated that the band was not a Christian Rock Band that album alone was her expressing her faith and her struggles with a friend (Cassie) committing Suicide. Other band mates writing other songs that they experience struggles. Note Her ex BF who was the lead guitarist kicked her out cuz she had two major surgeries near her vocal cords. He considered her a liability to the band.
Flyleaf 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 takes me back to high school yes she’s got an incredible voice and with the heavyness of the instruments.
I absolutely love your review of this ❤️
You nailed the meaning.
This video got you a new sub.
I love this react !! She perfectly conveys how she felt in that moment and it moves me to tears. It’s intense !!!
Love this song and yes the band isn't Christian but they are Christians in a band.I hope you'd do Be Quiet and Drive by Deftones.
There is a thing called 'death of the author' where an author does not fully understand their own work. The same is true with this band. They are a christian rock band no matter what they say otherwise. Over half of their music is on the topic of christianity or broadly about god.
@Melon Sauce neither. It's by definition of christian rock as a musical genre.
@@phyose4793 I don't know fam. If you listen to underoath they are Christian but they say they don't bring religion into the music because it causes conflict with the viewers or something like that
I didn’t know what to expect. You haven’t loved some of my favorites, but I’m gladly surprised. I grew up listening to FlyLeaf! ❤❤
I just simply ADORE my SISTER PRINCESS and HER LOVE for OUR KING!........I CAN'T WAIT til I'LL meet her in our OLD/PERFECTED BODIES!😇

"I'm so sick" by flyleaf hits HARD.
Yooo I was not expecting this, one of my favorite songs 👏🏾
I saw them live twice in 10 hours. Was lucky to spend some time with her during a private small group acoustic set. We got to talk with her, and then saw her at a full heavy show.

Oh my God thank you I did not see this notification this is my favorite song on earth thank you for the reaction I love you!🤣🤣
Her voice got me through some tough times in my life. I'm glad you enjoyed it too.
Been waiting for this one!
This song is about her overcoming her heroine addiction and near death experience and finding religion, faith and God.
Yep. Exactly.
Everytime I watch one of your videos I get into a vibe. You always rediscover music from when I was a kid and didn't know all the evil of the world yet. That and you always telling people to be themselves and never being judgemental of any song or person makes me feel rejuvenated.
Keep posting these reactions LayedBak
Flyleaf's music has been some of my favorite in the past 5+ years, and it warms my heart to see how it fared here...and as others have said, you're right on the mark with what this song's about. Really dig these videos!
Long shot. Check out Lindsey Stirling
Hell yeah!!! Shatter Me

So happy you did this one!! Definitely is about Laceys relationship with God.
Should definitely do Cassie or Again next!
It's wild to see you reacting to this when I can remember seeing Flyleaf before they "hit it big". Please do Fully Alive next. A personal favorite.

This a deep cut right here! Loved this song for over a decade!
im a muslim and i just recently knew about Flyleaf is a Christian band lmao i was surprised since i really like this song eh its not gonna change my mind
As it shouldn't, im a christian myself but everyone should believe in what they choose to.
I'm no longer religious (some terrible experiences), but I always come back to Flyleaf when I'm in that mood.
And you're right my man, this song is a *MOOD!*

Lifeline is a good one too
I love that you reviewed Flyleaf. They were a huge part of my teenage years right along with MXPX, Skillet, Five Iron Frenzy, Plumb... I could go on and on. Whether you believe in God or not, these bands feed the heart and soul as you just experienced with this song. I love music in general no matter what it is but I do see how some has a really negative effect on my mood. My 12 year old son listened to this song with me the other day knowing nothing about it and when it was over, he asked if that’s how I feel when I worship God. Flyleaf’s message was a simple one and it still rings true for a lot of people. ♥️
What I enjoy the most is when the play around with the tracks on the left and right ear. Say you hear the guitar on the left ear and the drums on the right, or when you hear her sing on both ears then hear a whisper on the left ear.
Here before another vid gets taken down 😂
Listen to their other bangers rhat no one really talks about. Circle, treasure, in the dark, arise. All beautiful songs fro. A good band! I enjoy lacey strums flyleaf
Kristen wasn't bad but wasn't on Lacey level
It’s great seeing people you grew up with make it so far. This was the first concert I ever went to as well. Wish they were still together
Flyleaf and Lacey have had such an impact on my life! I love her so much and always find comfort in her music!
On the radio show LA Lloyd's Rock 30, lead singer Lacey Mosley said: "It's a song about meeting God. I remember looking at a bunch of people's Myspace when I first saw Myspace and the 'Who I'd Like To Meet' the #1 thing people picked was God. I think about that. I don't know how many times I've experienced something where I felt like God showed up and saved me or loved me for no reason sometimes. That's why I sing this song, I sing it to God. It's really intimate as well, you can think about it as a relationship between two people in love, too. I never think about it that way, but what's so cool about that is I think there's parallels everywhere - in everything in life. I think that that parallel is something that God wants to communicate to us, that he gives us relationships like that, an intimacy like that."
Lowkey been waiting for this song!!! Lol let's see what you think my guy!!!
I love how your just vibing - 🖤

I'm catholic and this type of music was never a focus for us. It's all about prayers but I have to say flyleaf has always been a favorite. Her story and her path to Christianity is so inspiring. She chose to write music and use her talent to inspire others. This song in particular is about how she overcame her depression and the night she chose to take her life. She felt the presence of mother Mary (in my opinion) and was given a purpose.
