I keep expecting Gannon to just be some poor guy from IT/QA who needs the hazard pay for his daughter's college tuition, and he doesn't understand why he's being bullied by a bunch of Marines.

Love that you included Wilks. Big fan of the little (and not so little) nods to previous Aliens continuity.
Speaking of, adding Wilks to the ship and embracing the Western theme, and specifically mentioning Tombstone, reminds me of something I think is extremely amusing (to me, at least).
In the second book of the Steve Perry Trilogy, Wilks remembers talking to a civilian psychiatrist, who told him about Doc Holliday, and how Holliday prevailed against much more skilled gunfighters because, thanks to his tuberculosis, he honestly didn't care in any given moment if he lived or died. Believing his days were numbered and the number was not large, he was far more calm and focused than others who were afraid they might die in a gunfight. Wilks embraces this, since anything that could happen now should have happened to him on Rim, even mentally calling himself Doc Holliday. Wilks is a reworking of the character of Hicks, who was the main character in the original comics the novels were based on. Hicks was played by Michael Biehn, who played Johnny Ringo in Tombstone, who was killed by. . . Doc Holliday.
This, to me, is hilarious.

Wow wow wow! I stayed up all night to watch this ASAP! All five of you are so unique and fun, it’s fantastic to watch you play! And Matt-the time and effort you put in to preparing and organizing the story, music, etc combined with your storytelling is amazing! If you aren’t already being paid for performing audio dramas, books on tape, etc then someone needs to throw money at you immediately! LOVE all the little nods to previous Aliens contuity, like Wilks, the devs put into Alien RPG. Big fan of the Steve Perry Trilogy (novelizations of Dark Horse's first three Aliens comics miniseries), so it was really cool seeing all the bits alluded to or even expanded on, like the Artificial Womb Soldier program.
Love watching your play throughs. You all seem like real chill folk and have a damned good dynamic.

for context for those that didnt watch the twitch stream in the live chat on twitch we were comparing ganon to the LOZ ganon, and then the panic roll happened and i just jokingly said "he hears navi say "hey listen" which is what makes him unsettled" and it looks like that made it in

This actually reminded me of my time in the Air Force. So fantastic GM and group here. Players do need help with proper salutes though... Do they not teach Marines of the future how to salute? 😉😎

Saw in in the theater in June of 79 at Ft Devens Massachusetts, after my mother had discovered I read the book... (she did not want me to see the movie as she and my stepfather had already seen it and had to sleep with the lights on)...As and Alien fan...I have several other game systems for the genre and will undoubtedly get this one as well for content. Currently we use Savage Worlds and Pathfinder for our games. May have try this system out as a diversion from the others... I really like the stress mechanic...
Great first episode i mean to the atmospheric sounds, map designs and the music it's just really surprising how fantastic this is but it sucks that we might have to wait a month for the new episode though 😔

This is just like having another GOOD alien movie. Ive never done a pencil and paper RPG but i feel motivated now to give it a try. I hope at some point that Free League gets to add The Predator(Yautja) "officially" to this RPG with the Predator getting its own book much like the Colonial marines Operations Manual. It would be cool though if you could sneak a possible predator "sighting" in one of your sessions. For example: Someone hears a noise and looks in the direction of the noise (rolls for observation) and sees nothing or a large "distortion" for second(depending on the roll) but ends up being nothing, but this "sighting" happens in multiple missions. Once predator officially enters into the free league alien universe, the predator finally makes it move on your team after deciding that your is the greatest human challenge and if he defeats your team then he can challenge to become the Predator Elder and leader. This will give your audience also an opportunity to go back and look at past missions in this universe to see where you left various predator easter eggs in your missions. Sorry for the long post. Keep up the awesomeness.

They would add the Predator is they could but both Predator and AvP are classified as different universes by Fox (now Disney) and each would require a completely new license deal by Free League to be able to do books for.
Being a fan of the AvP franchise (the original comic was awesome), reading CMOM I had an idea for a Frontier Campaign mission that would homage the original Predator film.
The Marines are sent with a Military Intelligence overseer to check out a UPP outpost that's supposed to have important intel. It's a hot jungle world, heavily controlled by the UPP, but a quiet op should be doable.
First wrinkle: they run into the dead bodies a butchered Marine squad. There aren't supposed to be any other Marines within a parsec, let alone on the planet.
They get to the outpost, and there's no sign of life, but all kind of science stuff. Stasis tubes, documents, computer models of air dropping some big leathery objects on a colony, dead spider-crab things. This is the Intel they need.
On the way out, they realize the people who were supposed to be at the outpost have been killed by these bug, tough, nightmare xenos, all black armor and metal teeth, and there seems to be something else in the jungle, something they just can't quite see.
Drawn by heat and conflict, a Predator has made this little corner of this little world his hunting ground. Good news: the Aliens stalking the players are on his hit list. Bad news: so are the players.
No one's talking about the fact that your android is Roy Batty from Blade Runner.
I guess this is how Roy got to see attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion...
im pretty new to rpg but i bought the corebook for this because it looks FANTASTIC! just need to find people to play with now

Love your character Matt, I was thinking the same thing to create after Starship troopers Gene Razak. I do have a question I am creating a marine with a robotic or bionic eye because he was badly injured could that eye give him a specific ability say maybe it would be telescopic vision like binoculars maybe because he is the squad commander and a Lieutenant? Since your NPC has a bionic arm or maybe it’s synthetic? Maybe I was thinking for that arm it could give him a maybe a plus something to a heavy machinery roll? As a Game Master what are your thoughts?
I’d have to take a look at the rules to see if it could work mechanically but if your GM is good with it, it sounds like great!

Yeah, I've got to say I like Aliens better than call of cthulhu
One bit really made me annoyed was Masters steps on a mine, and you went with the trope that it didn't explode straight away, that's not how mines work, if you step on a mine it detonates end of, mines also have a kill radius depending on terrain type. If I were running this game I would have included pfc Jarhead in the party, have him step on the mine and then no more pfc Jarhead.
Sorry it annoyed you! It’s in the book so we went with it! And who knows, in the future mines might work like that!
