    Absolutely one of the best!
I still use the Janus every time i do a play through!.
In RE; 8 solar pannels power the whole thing in idle mode until it's upgraded!
I cut out the block beside the shower and add the 5th medical station, with a freezer for meds at the end.
Add a repository above the armor locker for suit upgrades.
I use the forward constructor holes for O2 and fuel tanks and put shield parts on the roof tank slots.
I like to glass off the farm area so i can only supply O2 in there on planets with atmospheres.
The basic core slot on the bridge becomes a ventilator since there isn't on in that room...
Add a deconstructor under the shield and upgrade the constructor to an advanced.
I add two small constructors above the others for making fuel.
The top guns I use for anti-drone and add the turrets below for space combat situations.
I also add 4 sentries to each side two forward and rear and replace a dozens bottom blocks with sentries, they absolutely purge a landing zone!
I prefer repeatable turrets so they get out of the way when needed.
Above the bridge I put a retractable tool turret, sometimes the rear landing pad gets a retractable artillery turret so its a landing pad again on planets.
Some games the exterior cargo box slots become lasers.
Just enough to deal with early-mid game POI defenses.
Pit stops on planets to put down 02 and hydrogen collectors while i do some deforestation with a harvester!
Otherwise, ice and promethium asteroid harvesting keeps it running.
Now, what we need is an upgradeable combat CV with a single helios dock.

Hi Jeff! Just wanted to thank you for this magnificent vessel. I'm relatively new to Empyrion, but this one is awe-inspring. Can't begin to imagine how much time/effort you put into this, but it is highly appreciated. Thank you!

Just built this. This is gonna carry me a long way! I made the right ramp a 3x3 and another ramp and first person cockpit where the forward genny and fuel tank was. Poked a hole just behind new cockpit for drone hatch. All of that makes for super fast entering and exiting from the hanger deck while exploring planets. Thanks so much for this build!

Incidentally, the latest patch made it so sathium is non-existent in the starter star system using the default random scenario. THis is the only CV that doesn't require sathium, which is why I revisited it for this playthrough. Good stuff :) Hits the spot it does.

I _love_ this concept. Anyone that's ever done the Project Eden Dread 2, or anything similar start, should dig this. Old Skooler's: Masperon, Nigues, Omnicron -- being able to spawn this in quick when you're ready, I'm sure, is appreciated. I'm thinking I'm targeteding it for my next RE gnarly start. Well done, sir!

I love the Janus. I have already built mine in RE and have it fully decked out and flying. It is easily my new favorite starter CV/Base in RE. Love it!

You should add instructions on how to keep it as a base and upgrade that.

Do people add teleporters to CV's?

I guess the docking bit is why you can’t fit a drill turret to it instead of the fixed drills.

Side benefit, in vanilla it wont attract zirax attacks maybe?

I like the concept of a base that can be upgraded to a CV.
I understand you make it fill in your Helios carrier but excuse isn't exactly a starter base for me.
11k iron is a little to high for a starter you shouldn't think ?
A less expensive version that fit in the smaller slots of helios carrier is a good idea too I think.

    • @jeffrandall2813

Thank you. Well, in my thinking, I wanted a starter CV to be large enough to move some HV's and SV's as well + all the other production stuff and what not. So going smaller I figured would make it become outdated faster in game wanting more storage, docking, production etc. I found that out with some older starter CV's in how fast you can out grow them. So, a bit more pricey at that start would allow for a much longer use time in game. Also because I had to seal and indent areas for the mining drills, I lost some potential interior space. So I was glad I had a larger ship in the end even if a bit more pricey. And thanks again!

@@jeffrandall2813 Sorry for my mistake the amount of iron is for reforged eden, in vanilla he cost less :)

    • @samsquatch7285
      @samsquatch7285 3 года назад +1

@@MrZarvoxx Also, iron is the easiest ore to get in RE depending on what starter planet. You get scrap iron from everything you salvage. And you can always go to creative and change it to carbon if you want...

    • @Banditman
      @Banditman 3 года назад +1

In vanilla, costs are: 3184 Iron, 588 Carbon Sub, 354 Silicon, 283 Copper, 28 Cobalt, 10 Titanium and 1 Wood.
