- In 2017, we sold our house in Avalon Sydney Australia and went on the road for a bit before settling in Hawaii but on the very last day of moving out of the house @sallllymac popped over and shot this video as I was moving the boards out and I shared some stories and the history of them.
Sally just reminded me of it and shared the file so here it is, I hope you enjoy the short haired version of the Stoked Bloke and thank yeew Sal🙏🏽
Massive thank you to all the shapers and manufacturers of these beautiful craft, I love them all so much and the joy they have provided me ❤️

Yeah now Barton!!! Miss you on the CT calls from the booth. Great idea starting the Pod'y mate. YEW 🤙. Greg Starr ⭐🤙🍀 The beard was solid. Hope you gave it a proper burial!?!? Lolol 😂
Yeah I miss doing those events but gotta be who you are and not bend over for money so it is what it is but thank you for the support.
@@barton_lynch I hear that! Hopefully we'll be having a surf soon mate cuz the back surgeries are behind me for now, FINALLY! Next time you're in HB 🤙. GREG STARR ⭐☘️🤙
@@gregstarr2878 Hope so brother, you will be great and wont know yourself so all the best.
Thank you for the support Barton!!! Carry on the great work mate, 💪🤙
Oh wow Barton I'm so happy to see I was wrong about the beard. Turned on the ISA comp and there it was in all it's Glory!!!! Lolol Solid mate!!!!💪🤙. GREG STARR ⭐🤙☘️
The girls final was trashhhhh
That's interesting that Barton Lynch. Managed to Hang Ten on that one board.
I noticed it had a really big single fin. Those single fins are easy to prang on the beach or rocks !
I might try and rent a similar board. Unfortunately. My wetsuit has gone missing. I like to surf in Newquay in Cornwall. Part of England and The UK. Off Western Europe.
I started surfing at Bantham. In England after seeing The Bodyboarders catching waves out of my depth. And out the back. With their fins and Boogie Boards.
They looked so cool !
I tried riding many boards. The Gordon and Smith. Magic Fish. With a single fin. (7'6" long approximately) The Eppo Gun bodyboard.
Mike Stewart's Science board. The Mach 7.7 XL. A twin fin radical tailed fat kneeboard which was about 5'5"
Hooded Villain longboards. Epoxy Mini Mals . Shortboards too thin and fast to stay on. Or paddle.
Variety is the spice of life, enjoy brother.
Nice. Thanks for that tour de Boards. That Insight sticker on the winning board really stoked the fuel
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for tuning in.
wow , what a beautiful collection :)
Thank yeew
Haha. Nice try Barton imposter but you can't fools us without the beard! 😆
Looking like a young fella hey, ha, thanks Lamar.
Great to see the white fins. White fins are a minority in the current era.
😂 2.5 kg lighter. amazing bra
Nah! Out of the cave??? where the Prophet go?!!!
Wayne Lynch and Maurice Cole. Good looks
Great insight into your boards but why would you ever leave Sydney?? 😁🏄🏻♀️
Yeah felt the wokeness coming ha, great city though.
We met once in Cronulla. You wrote on my board ‘Shred to your dead’. That board is definitely dead 😂
@@dominicadalton6585 haa a long time ago, sorry to hear the board is dead but stoked we are still shredding.
@@barton_lynchthat would be enough to make me move, shame that's the state of things in some places
@@mattgurin6168 shame alright, thanks.
Thanks for the insight. I prefer glassed boards, what about you?
Yeah definitely prefer normally glassed boards
I was right up near the podium when you won the OP PRO at Bondi, a stoked grom watching his favourite surfer win a comp was all time, got to meet you a few years later at the night surfing comp at Bondi and one of the Single Fin comps in the valley.
Great days we got to live back then, thanks for the continued support, love it.
nice break down, havent heard of the retro 83 model buy chilli, got a 1984 model by rusty based on occy's wining 84 board which is pretty fun. Shame all the best boards are too thin for us now. Would love to see the boards in your car also.
Yeah the older boards with volume and chunk in the rail go so great hey. Not a fan of the thin chips.
Aloha half moon spray remember well
Slashing all over manly waves
Good memories buddy
Great memories from that time, thanks.
I mentioned on your "Stoked Bloke" youtube channel that I saw your pipe board at the Downing shop in Honolulu. It was kind of narrow for a board from that era.
I am kinda narrow ha, thanks for watching.
BL boards are almost equal to trophy's they always bring back memories'....I always regret selling mine !
I just joined the open heart surgery club this past Jan.3rd But living in Hawaii keeps me stoked and close to the ocean so soon to be back in the sea.
Aloha Kenny
Sorry to hear of the surgery Kenny but atleast you got it and the future is bright, especially living in Hawaii.
Don't tell me your conforming to the system mate had gotten used to the hair, luv ya work. Just remember if you can't go to work and have fun, don't go!
This video is from 2017
Been avoiding a real job for 50 years now so agree 100
Enjoy listening tu on the commentary. But wat happen too martin potter he was good too with joe.
Potts got sick of the travelling and needed time with his family, and maybe the lack of respect.
At 5:55 that Crazy Tow Bonzer. Where is that and hows that ride
Yeah in storage at the moment and never actually got to ride it.
That was cool to watch I used to like the belly channels in the early 80s
Belly channels and the vent systems were great bottom shapes for sure but the glassers hate them ha.
Great board history Barton you legend👍🙂
Thank you.
💯
Jeez mate i thought youd had a shave !🤣
Never again, maybe ha.
Brushed Greg Webber! Must of had a falling out….
Saying Maurice Cole shaped his best boards… after he was retired 😂
Yep had a falling out.
Yep fallout 100
ta m8, that Cole Smith... froth!
Epic hey, thanks for tuning in.
Awesome job Barton!
Thank yeew for watching.
So cool. When I was learning, there was a bertelman twin in a surf shop, he'd done a nz tour and left a few boards. I wish I'd gotten that. Back then, I could barely afford petrol😂 righto. Off to search for waves or 🐟 yeowwww
Yeah I bet you wish you had that board today, hope you find some waves.
@barton_lynch no waves today sadly, but caught a good sized blue cod. Getting cold here in Southern nz. Yeowww
@@thnz5067 Winter is on her way, enjoy mate.
That was great fun BL! Best from Wales 🏄♂️
Thanks for watching.
Wow mate some cool memories there for me also..So good Barton..cheers buddy..🤙
Stoked you enjoyed it.
Got a couple boards from Kirk B when I lived on the North Shore....a 7'6" and a 7'10". Couple guys were chomping to buy them when I moved, I had a great quiver but nobody cared about any of the rest of them except Kirk's boards. 😂🤙🏼
@@mattgurin6168 Yeah Kirky is an amazing shaper and his guns are 100% sick.
