I am truly living the garage guy dream. I received my new Swisstrax floor this week and it is amazing. I want to thank Randy and Sarah for all their support and I am truly honored to be associated with such an amazing company like Swisstrax. I enjoyed my RaceDeck Free Flow floor for over seven years, but I am excited to be moving in a new direction and I will share my insights in due time. I need to enjoy and use it for a while first.
I will be having some professional photographs taken now that the job is complete and it is my hope that I will be a positive brand ambassador for many years to come.

Zero surprise that this was very well thought out and perfectly executed! Great job bud! Love everything about this, especially the RAD sign in the floor. Awesome!
Oh and keep your snow for awhile.. thanks!
Haha! Yes, the snow always comes when I'm knee deep into a project. I have some wiring to do for the LED light panel and I need two Pearl Grey tiles, but it's otherwise complete. Thanks for the kind words, I am loving the new feel this floor has given the space.
0:53 😊😊 3:34 😊
That is way KULE! Very nice indeed! Lookin' clean tidey and organized and very classy!
I thought the custom logo tile was impressive...then you lit it up! Now that's customizing AU MAXX! VERY VERY WELL DONE!!👌
Ha! Yes, the lit LED is overkill but I couldn't resist.
Hi Rick, my name is Alan I saw your short garage tour on Pan the organizer channel then I searched and found your channel.
Great job on your garage, very clean and super organized 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks so much. Pan has become a very good friend of mine since that video. I’m glad you found my channel. Lots of big changes since this video was uploaded. I will do a new tour video shortly! Thanks again for searching for and finding me! 🤘
Wow just wow!
And with your emblem name, it’s cherry on the cake, really, I dream when I look this garage
Ashkorya Thanks! It is my dream garage for sure.
Your love and passion is Real!!! Thank you for the video!!!
Nicky Bond Thanks Nicky. I'm loving the new look and feel of the floor.
The black oak and illuminated panel made such a HUGE difference! Nice work man
MK6Guy Thanks. The Black Oak adds class, but it's going to stress me out in terms of keeping it clean and scratch-free. It's not as forgiving as Ribtrax/RaceDeck Free Flow.
I have epoxy in my 3 car garage. I have a pool table on one side and gym on the other side and in the center I left it open to lay down a wrestling mat..wrestling mat I remove all the time after using. I have horse mats where gym is at. The horse mats cover a space about 8ft by 24 ft . Also have 2 gladiator floor cabinets and a work bench on the side where gym is at. Garage all insulated and walls painted. Its my man cave/ game room/gym.
I was wondering if it will be worth it to install this flooring on top of my epoxy. I think this tiles are thinner than the horse mats so I don't know if that's going to look awkward. The horse mats are all black made of rubber. I think they are 3/8 thick. Will this look better than my epoxy flooring and will it be an upgrade?? I would think the pool table will need to be removed to install tiles?? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank u. I do not park cars in garage. Like I mentioned before its just a man cave/billiard room/ gym😁
Shoot me an email at radgarageyyc@gmail.com and I’ll help you out.
ridiculously good video, man! Really like how it turned out! Love that logo in the floor, too!
Jason Green Thanks man. I'm feeling pretty good about the way things turned out.
How’s when cars r parked and jack stand is on it plus snow ? I like it but just wondering about these things .
the600cc I do a pretty thorough job of documenting my garage fun and challenges on my blog at radgarage.ca. Feel free to check it out.
Amazing video! Incredibly easy on the eyes.
Are you talking about me or the floor. Sounds like you are talking about me.
Happy Christmas Rick! Season’s Greetings to you and your family.
Porko Rosso Thanks so much. Here's to another great garage year! 🍻
Félicitation ton garage est magnifique merci pour ta vidéo ça fait plaisir !!!! 👍👍👋👋✅
Cool!!!
Seriously considering Swisstrax for my garage make over. What are the flat border pieces called? Also where did you purchase your tire storage rack? Thanks in advance.👍🇨🇦
Hey Dwayne. I have a combination of Ribtrax and Solid Vinyl tiles in Black Oak. Where are you? US or Canada? The tire racks I have are from Tirerack.com. They are almost ten years old now.
@@RADGarage Well, I end all my comments with 🇨🇦. So it’s safe to assume that’s where I live, next province to you beautiful British Columbia.
You in Alberta? Debating between this and epoxy. How did this hold up 2 years later.
Epoxy has a good chance of failure. Plus, rocks in the treads of your tires are going to ruin the epoxy over time. Swisstrax handles our challenging Alberta conditions like a champ. 💯 check out my Top 10 Reasons video too.
Thanks - just what I needed after a very stressful week! Professional job well done! My garage is full of my daughter’s furniture now that she is back from Uni. 😾 Thanks for sharing!
I can't imagine what I would do if my garage was overrun by someone's stuff, but family always comes first!
R A D G a r a g e Exactly!
RAD GARAGE, nice video. I have to choose between RaceDeck free-flow or Swisstrax ribtrax open rib tiles. I have some questions for you since you tried both.
1) My first concern is that my garage concrete floor is rough and generates dust and my car is always parked in the garage. I also wash, wax & buff my car there, so I don’t want to scratch my paint with dust particules. Would you still recommend the open rib tiles? Someone explained to me that it acts like a grit guard in a washing bucket, keeping the dust under the tiles.
2) Are these tiles slippery? how does the RaceDeck & Swisstrax performs in this matter?
3) What about the noise & how they compares in this matter.
4) Where I park my car, will the tires mark the tiles? Would it be easy to wash if I use light colors tiles? How RD & ST compares?
Thanks!
1) The Ribtrax does an amazing job of suppressing dust. I really like the Grit Guard comparison. Very apt.
2) The floor has never been slippery under my foot.
3) Walking on this floor is awesome. Very solid under foot and the only sound it ever makes is when the floor is really dirty, you can hear some of that grit under the tiles. But, just a bit.
Impressive!
Thanks.
Awesome...nice job again!
Ура! Новое шикарное видео!👍🏻
Александр Калачев Thanks!
Very cool. Good job!
Wow, this looks so great! Wondering, how do small caster do when rolling over the ribs (chais)? is it smooth or does it vibrate? what about the toolboxes?
There's a little vibration but nothing that would stop you from wanting to roll something over them. In fact, I think bigger items roll easier due to less contact with the floor due to the ribbed design of the tiles. I have a few detailing stools that I use on a consistent basis and they roll just fine.
Can you still lift vehicles on theses with out damage?
Crystal Clear Detailing Vlog I plan on using my QuickJack since the flat units evenly distribute the weight. I used it often on my RaceDeck with no issues.
So how many tiles did u end up using? Was considering for my 24x24 garage, but not sure about making the investment. How has it held up?
I'm not actually sure what the total tile count came out to. I would venture a rough guess of 300. My garage is basically a 24' x 24' square. I think it is an amazing investment if you have the type of garage that supports a tile floor. It has held up wonderfully. They don't really show their age at all. Feel free to check out my webpage on the Swisstrax at: www.radgarage.ca/swisstrax-floor.html and/or email me at radgarageyyc@gmail.com if you have any questions.
Love your dedication
Thanks. I really love my garage.
Niiiiice.
Thanks. I love the way the floor looks and performs.
@@RADGarage it shows through🙂
Nicely organized!
Thanks. It is my sanctuary from the grind of real life.
Working on mine...
Awesome stuff RAD G, I have serious workshop envy. I want to know where is your drainage? All the water and products you use... where does it go and how do you clean the residue each month?
I have lots of floor videos on my website: www.radgarage.ca/swisstrax-floor.html. The drainage is something I will be seriously upgrading very soon. At present, the water just flows out the door.
How did you make the logo floor tile? i cant really find a company that supplies that? it would be cool for my showroom
RealCleanCobalt You have to speak with the team at Swisstrax. They did that for me. They can do it for you too!
Looks awesome Rick!
jbrentd Thank you. I'm loving the new look!
You will have to let us know why the change to SwissTrax?
FWIW my RD is going strong. Love the video Rick.
He took the recommendation from a longtime highly-respected friend
I wanted to change it up and I was fortunate to complete this project with the personal involvement and support of Swisstrax founder and CEO. I considered RaceDeck but the Swisstrax lure was too great.
He got it for free so he could advertise for them I am sure
Great video. Love it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looks amazing! great job!
Wow Rick...another fabulous video (really love the low bass audio...it adds a nice "punch" to the overall experience) This floor 2.0 is stunning. Just curious as to why you changed the floor system. It always looked like it performed masterfully. Did it get damaged in some way or is it simply that the new system is superior? I'd love to know the decision behind the change. The illuminated LED tile was the cherry on top. Well done, my friend. (Mike in Ohio)
MTobin1000 Thanks Mike. I did love my old floor and it served me well for many years. The new owner of that floor will get many great years of use out of it as well. I wanted to go on a different direction style-wise and I have been a loyal supporter of RaceDeck for years. I have answered hundreds of questions about the floor so I spoke with the company owner about a new floor and how I could continue to rep the brand. In the end, nothing came of it so I had a similar conversation with the owner of Swisstrax and he treated me like a king. He took the time to FaceTime me around the headquarters and show me all the different options. I was already well aware of the reputation Swisstrax has established within the garage world so I couldn't see any reason not to move in this direction. So far, I am 100% satisfied with the new floor but I'm absolutely blown away by the commitment this company has to serving their customers. Don't be surprised if you see a bit of RAD video and photo work featured amongst the Swisstrax marketing material. This is going to be an amazing partnership.
That's awesome and totally understandable. I couldn't think of a product manufacturer having a better "brand ambassador" than you. It looks like a great fit for all and nothing short of a "win-win". I really look forward to seeing what's next.. @@RADGarage
Looks amazing!!
Looks great, bro! Congrats
and one more....where can i get a sign like your Rad Garage floor sign, love that touch of class ....
Pierre - Spyder TV Poliquin - Spyder Accessories Talk to AJ at Cleveland Custom Garages. He can hook it up for you.
Thanks for the video..... i've got 690 Square feet coming in the next week or so, i'm in Lavaltrie Quebec Canada. I went with Ribtrax and ordered 3 colors, gray, black and red. Hoping to film that too and share it with you all. Questions....how much gap did you leave between final tile and the wall ? my garage door will be open pretty much all summer and spring, as soon as it hits 7 or 8 degrees and the sun is out. Love to work with the outside coming in, but that means the sun will shine on it all afternoon, will the floor expend much under the sun heat ?
Pierre - Spyder TV Poliquin - Spyder Accessories Congrats on your new floor. I wouldn't worry too much about expansion. Give yourself 1/4 of an inch and you'll be fine. If you want to do a LED panel, you should chat with AJ @ Cleveland Custom Garages. He'll hook you up! Tell him I sent ya. You'll get the RAD treatment.
thanks.....got the New Age cabinets done and 3 sets of 57 inch wide 5 feet tall tool boxes....nice set up.
Pierre - Spyder TV Poliquin - Spyder Accessories Sounds great!
Wow, that looks great! Nicely done.
looks great Rick!
Shifted Perspective Thanks Brandon.
Love the Swisstrax! Just installed mine this summer. See avatar. Curious to know why you chose the black oak over more ribtrax? Either way it looks great!
I wanted to class the space up a bit, and the Black Oak does just that. The areas where I used Black Oak don't get wet so there's no concern with the lack of Ribtrax there. Plus, I like the smooth surface so I can wheel around in my chair when I'm watching TV. Thanks for the positive feedback! Let me know if you have any other questions. Always happy to chat "Garage".
I’m in Alberta as well and was wondering who you purchased your Swiss trax through
Christopher Artindale I was dealing directly with the folks down in the States. I got a really good deal due to the channel and what not. I think they are having issues with their Canadian distribution. I’d suggest contacting them directly. There’s also my friends down at Cleveland Custom Garages. More info here: www.radgarage.ca/floor.html
Wow this is epic! Excellent color/style choice. How much roughly did this cost?
Thanks. I really love this floor. I was very fortunate to receive a deep discount from the Swisstrax team. In Canada, you can expect to pay $3.74 per square foot for a Ribtrax style floor. That does not include the shipping and GST. In the States, I am not sure of the exact cost, but it is way cheaper. You can hit up this link at the Obsessed Garage website to learn more: bit.ly/2YNr5g0
If you have any questions about the floor, most can be answered here: www.radgarage.ca/swisstrax-floor.html
Some people think I am a Swisstrax retailer, but I am not. I am just a customer who loves and supports the company.
What hose reel do you use? Thanks.
reyoasian It’s by McNaught and they call it “Mr Retracta”. Cheesy name but it has been awesome over the last decade I’ve owned it.
Excellent video! Beautiful floor - I love the design. It seems like you go right to the edge of the wall. Did you allow any room for expansion, and if so, how much?
Yeah, I have a 1/4" to 1/2" gap around the perimeter, but I'm not really sure it is necessary. My garage faces North so receives no direct sunlight and the space is heated so there really isn't any fluctuation in temperature. Part of me wishes I went right to the wall, but perhaps that would have caused an issue. Are you contemplating a floor like this?
RAD Garage Yes, I received the sample pieces about a week ago from Swisstrax. I’ve been wanting to do something on my floor for years, but wasn’t sure what. The more I investigate, the more this seems like the best solution for me. I live in Pennsylvania and we have milder winters than you, but still get a lot of crap in the garage from the snow and such.
I'm thinking about getting this floor. How has it been holding up for the past few years?
It’s awesome. Quite simply, my best garage decision I have ever made.
@@RADGarage Thanks for the quick reply. I was a little premature in asking the question. I looked at your channel and found the top 10 reasons you like the floor. thanks again for the reply!
I'm glad you found that video. That really tells my full story of why I love my Swisstrax floor.
Thats beautifully executed!!! Love that sign!!! So whats the biggest difference between racedeck and swisstrac??? Was looking into racedeck!
Good question! For me the actual size and quality of the tiles is the biggest difference. The Swisstrax tiles are more robust and provide more of a solid feel beneath my feet. That said, I was quite happy with my RaceDeck floor for years.
@@RADGarage Thanks for the feed back!!! going with swisstrac!
Tell them RAD sent ya. If you purchase through Obsessed Garage, please use my affiliate link in the video description. Good luck!
swisstrax now sold to a venture capital group in the turf industry
Snofisk Snowboards Interesting. I wonder how that will impact the way they do business.
how much did a tile cost?
I can't recall the exact pricing. The Black Oak was more than the Ribtrax. If you're interested, I can refer you to my guy.
Tell them Rick sent ya! info@clevelandcustomgarages.com
Hey Rick, what retractable garden hose reel is that?
I got it through Griot's Garage a very long time ago. Made my Macnaught. I hate the colour of the hose, but it has been a real workhorse for me.

R A D G a r a g e Thank you sir!
Great video Rad! I have a ignorant question. What happens to the water a detail? Does it stay trapped underneath the tiles or do you have a drain or something?
That is not an ignorant question at all. In fact, it's a question that I have been working to answer for years. Currently, the water drains according to the slight pitch of the floor towards the driveway. In the coming weeks, I plan on having a company rip up the first six or so feet of my garage floor and repour it with a trench that will slope towards a catch basin so no water will escape the garage. I'll be doing a video on that for sure so stay tuned!
@@RADGarage Oh Rad that's awesome! I am definitely staying tuned. Just subbed. Great Videos! I strive to have a garage like yours one day. I'm happy for you!
Thanks so much. I'm glad you found my channel. You seem like a class act dude.
@@RADGarage Same to you sir! Just saw your fender bender video. Ouch! I hope for a quick turnaround on your vehicle. I respect the way you handled it.
Looks amazing 👍, how do you compare the Swisstrax to the Racedeck flooring?
I'm not going to get into the comparison just yet. I need some time to see how it handles the challenges the Canadian winter presents. As far as looks go, it's pretty sweet.
I can already tell you how it will handle Canadian winters. LIKE A BOSS!!
Shaun Gullacher I'm sure it will.
What was the cost of the materials? Minus the sign in the floor?
Paul Stuart I was fortunate to get a pretty decent discount. Are you in the States or Canada. I can post up retail costs if you would like.
@@RADGarage I'm in the states. Yeah, please post up the costs. Thanks.
Paul Stuart Ribtrax is about $7 per tile. Tiles are 15.75x15.75”. You’d have to get a quote from them for shipping.
RAD GARAGE sweet...thanks!
That is so dope, 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I do find the Swisstrax a bit trickier to keep clean because the tiles detach way easier than my RaceDeck ones did. So, pulling it apart in sections is not as easy.
Oh wow good to know, I’m hoping to renovate my garage over the winter and I love the flooring.
Good luck with your garage project. Feel free to ask me any questions and I will help in any way I can. Have you seen my website? WWW.RADGARAGE.CA
Looks awesome, but how to clean 😳
I have lots of experience keeping my garage floor clean. Nothing is harder than trying to keep a bare concrete floor clean, though.
Favorite yt detailer (Y)
EllaDaStyleZ Thanks man.
Are you located in Toronto area?
Calgary.
@@RADGarage my brother lives in Calgary
So he would be fully aware of the challenges related to maintaining a clean car! LOL
In the Wars! 😟. Hit a large pothole which burst both passenger side tyres. Wheels need realigning and due to ADAS, all the cameras need calibrating! Costly month for my SQ5.
Porko Rosso Horrible! Let me know how the repairs turn out. Best of luck.
So other than apparently you got a deal on some Swisstrax what makes it "superior" to the Race Deck that you were apparently happy with?
I find the Swisstrax floor superior to the RaceDeck floor. You seem irritated with me.
Concrete in the garage has cracked already?
Xt Completely normal in this neck of the woods.
whats the point of this? music and no explanations?
