    I was at Schofield over 35 years ago and traffic could get thick then. I didn't know people stationed at Schofield would bother to choose a residence on the Windward side or really any further than Mililani.
    I never see tours of the old housing that is still there but I did find one walkthrough of a residence that was exactly what I use to have.

      I was on Ekaha Circle from '79-82. Babysat all over the base but all the places were basically the same quad cement and brick structures. Last I saw our former unit was 08. Can't remember if I bothered to go see it again in '12 or not. It was so depressing. Military had hardcore stands, white glove inspection upon move out, etc.
      Our unit had grass nearly in the 2nd floor windows and haphazardly hung window a/c. It seemed so tiny since I'm grown now.
      Recently saw that Ekaha Circle is no longer a cul de sac as it was then😭

      @@cynthianickerson1951I think they had only just started the rebuild. When I revisited our former home on Ekaha Circle in 08, it was 😭😭😭 so worn out from so many families that had come and gone after our 79-82 stay.
      Across Menoher I think it was, there was even still the worst of the last leftover units from 82 in how our was new at that time.

    If someone were to buy a house and want to rent it out when the leave how would the process of getting a management company for the property go ? And how much does it cost to have a management company?

    • @LIVINGINHAWAII808
      @LIVINGINHAWAII808  3 года назад

      Great question! I'll try to answer this without getting too lengthy but this is a question we get on just about every Zoom call.
      Most people often look for a reputable property management company on Google first. Top things you're most likely looking at...1 - who has the highest reviews?...2 - who has the lowest fees with reasonably high review?
      What you don't see on the surface is how many properties that company is managing which could be anywhere from 300+ and if (1) they have the time for you and (2) do you even trust them? This isn't to say property management companies are bad by any means. There are definitely some great ones here.
      You could also interview agents like myself who manage properties. Benefits to that is working directly with the agent. Direct communication and time you hope to receive from a customer service standpoint. Downside if this (being completely honest) is do you trust that agent?
      ULTIMATELY, it comes down to trust. Find a company or agent you TRUST with one of your largest investments who will give you the communication, time, and BEST service. I hope that helps!

But if you want to be my realtor for a Kaua’i property, sure! P.S. if I were active duty and got BAH, I would NEVER rent or live on post. I would BUY.
