I came across this video for some reason and I don't even make $30,000 a year. No hay intended but you should see what $20,000 buys in Southeast Asia because I guarantee you you can get more in Southeast Asia than you can get there way less money

500k in most of the US will get you a 4 bedroom 3 bath home on 5 acres.
I couldn't emagine paying 500k for a 1 or 2 bedroom cardboard box to sleep in. Hopefully we see a major crash like 2008 so I can get into something reasonable in Hawaii. I plan to buy and use it as a vacation home until I pay it off and sell my house now then move over to offset the cost of living.

So you want everyone to be in a financial crisis in order for you to live a better life? To offset your needs/costs. That’s the problem these days. People are so selfish and don’t think about others. We will not see a crash. Best to simply try to afford things as they are now. With that said, if a flood of inventory comes into the market, I’ll be wrong but inventory is scarce across the country. In 2008 there was a flood of inventory then a crash. It’s not like that now. Things are different. But to hope that your neighbor and fellow Americans get into a bad financial situation and lose everything is not something to hope for.
