    I'm from Oahu. I got myself a 2022 Triumph Rocket 3R motorcycle and I'm living my best dream !! Back in 2013 I was working at Louis Vuitton on Kalakaua Ave and I was actually working on the 4th of July !! Of course every Friday at around 7pm there are fireworks displays that can be best viewed from an elevated stance that can be seen from U.H Manoa(University of Hawaii). I moved, to Virginia(northern virginia), right before the whole covid virus broke out. I plan on heading back to my native island before it get's cold here in Virginia this winter !!!

      @@happypips8383 happy, for me, because Hawaii(island of Oahu) is 5 hour different & 6 Hour difference; depending on East Coast time difference twice per year, I normally trade the market either from 12am- 3am or from 1am-4am. For the most part I simply trade from 1am-3am(and because I'm now deeply established in the trading game and make large profits I now only trade on Friday & Saturday mornings and then have fun around the islands the other 5 days per week) and then go back to bed since I'm able to trade the market on my 12.9" iPad Pro tablet while in bed(no need for me to go to my 27" 5K iMac computer.

      @@happypips8383 Happy, well, firstly your money has to be in order because a gallon of milk is $10.64 a gallon on one side of the island and is $12 a gallon on the other side of the island; inflation is a mofo on any island(including Puerto Rico on the other side of the atlantic); everything will nearly be two times to 5 times more in cost; if you are making $100,000 a year on the East Coast that will need to be raised to $400,000 a year for the same lifestyle. I started out in trading Commodities over 20 years ago back in 1995; 5 years before the Euro Currency came out and then I simply took my knowledge from trading commodities & S&P 500 Index to trading the currency market which then translated into trading Options.

    I’m considering moving to Hawaii from South Florida (if I can get a solid IT field job first) and this video was very informational! Florida seems to be close to Hawaii in terms of climate and weather patterns. The cost of living is high here in Florida so I don’t expect much of a difference if I moved to Hawaii. I do like the isolation of Hawaii and the laid back vibe, which is something Florida doesn’t have (outside the Keys). Also being so close to Asia is a pro because I always wanted to visit Japan/South Korea. Aside from saving and searching for jobs in Hawaii once I graduate from my Master’s, is there any other preparation I should make in advance?

    • @LIVINGINHAWAII808

      Having lived in Fort Lauderdale for nearly 5 years myself, the climate is very comparable. I was actually just looking at flights to Japan and they were around $700. The biggest things for a move to Hawaii are finding a job and saving money for the big move. Having healthy reserves can be key.

    Cons to living in Hawaii:
    * Hard to find good jobs which challenge you.
    * Housing is expensive and mostly in dilapidated shape.
    * High Cost of living overall, food, electricity, gasoline, etc..
    * Very high Taxes
    * Poorly maintained infrastructure
    * A bit of an anti~white/envy/anger toward white success some areas of the state.
