Wow the memories....my dad was stationed here in the 70s....I went to Hale Kula elem from kinder to third grade.....my brothers and I all played football and had games near the back gate where it goes to Wallua and Haleiwa....we used to drive thru the Waianae mtn range, Kole Kole pass and go to the Army beach, Oahu was a different place back then. I was born in Tripler Hopital in 1964. My mother, father, sister and two brothers are all buried in Punchbowl, so many memories were made on that base.
Thank you for the tour. All I can say is wow how much things have changed. Like someone else responded I don't recognize a thing either! Stationed there from 98 to 01 and lived on Santa Fe and it looked nothing like it does now. Much improved by far. Thank you for sharing. Bringing back a lot of memories!!
Thank you for this video highlighting what the neighborhoods look like. We are getting ready to PCS there and trying to get a 5 bedroom on Schofield. How do you like the housing and do you know if 5 bedroom houses are pretty abundant there?
You are welcome🙂 and I know there are a lot of 4 bedrooms on post but I haven’t seen many 5 so I am not sure but I can definitely ask and get back to you and so far housing has been ok..some maintenance issues with plumbing but besides that it has been ok…just a lot of centipedes around so my husband stay spraying to keep them from getting into house and there are a lot of flies and lizards but none inside of our house yet👍🏽 if you have any questions I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge…Tfw💜
@@traceiveronicatv Thanks for the reply. We have friends that live in New Santa Fe and they have told us there are a good amount of 5 bedrooms in their neighborhood. Wasn’t sure if that was true across all of the neighborhoods. I guess living on an island with gorgeous weather year round is bound to attract lots of critters so we will just have to stay on top of it and keep them out of the house as much as possible. Sorry to hear you have had plumbing issues. Thanks again. 😀
@@jamesbaron3775 No problem and yes the bugs are here lol and New Santa Fe is really nice and big so they may have ample 5 bedroom houses..they didn’t any homes available in New Santa Fe when we got here…I hope you get the home you desire and good luck with the move😀
Oof. At 9:50, you made a right turn and went by a familiar place. I wish I could see to the right to see if the trees are the same. The old housing is gone, though.
My family left 1867 B Ekaha Circle in '82😭😭 After that, people got freaking lucky!!!! I returned in '08 and '12 and the worst and oldest across the street from Ekaha was still there boarded up and 1867 was mad pitiful from obvious lack of former stringent military requirements.

@@traceiveronicatv they were amazing!!
My former residence on Ekaha Circle is long gone 😭😭 it's street now, not circle and appears to be far less homes.
Is this navy housing?
It’s Army housing but in Hawaii all service members can live on any post….hope that helps and tfw💜
