Omg, this warms my heart! My mom was a florist for a long time; I can’t tell you how many countless hours I spent in the back workroom playing with broken flowers and making my own doofy arrangements. She had her shop for 11 years, but she passed away soon after selling it and retiring. I miss her a lot, and she was heavy on my heart yesterday because I finally graduated from college and I wished she could have been there. This build made my day, and I’m really excited to play with it!! You’re the best 💕
I think you would like the show Natsuyuki Rendezvous ♡ free to stream on Crunchyroll
Taylor White okay cool, I’ll check it out!! Thank you 💕
I'm sorry for your loss. Congratulations on your graduation. I'm sure your mom is proud of you and just remember that she was there in spirit.
What a great life story 😊
Audrie Campbell i’m sorry for your loss, must’ve been a hard time for you... and congratulations on your graduation ✨❤️
I like how lilsimsie is really organized with her schedule on RUclips and still doing all her work for school
The Pokey Gamer meanwhile I have no channel and still can’t do my school work :)
Hahaha same
The Pokey Gamer I aspire to have the motivation
The Pokey Gamer she should teach a class
Oh god she queen
I'm at the point in the semester where it took me an entire minute to figure out why I recognize this build...... I was on the stream yesterday
Hannah McGuire literally laughed out loud at this 😩😂😂
Hannah McGuire 🙌killin it!
Sounds like you needed some coffee lmao
I used to be a florist! I wish I could tell you it's all sunshine and "daisies" but the holidays are nightmares straight from the very depths of hell.
SimQueen i am also a florist!! and yes i can agree especially valentine’s day
@@fairenough464 I think if you work in some sort of store in genereal, its always hell for the people who work there. I worked in a grocery shop at the cash register and I can tell you, it was stressful as hell and people can be super rude.
I'm a florist. My school has an entire floral design class! Floral arrangements are SO MUCH FUN!!!!
AGREE
After years and years of playing Sims. You made me find out that Sim stans for Simulation. Yes im dumb
Sebastian Victoria this
Lol
I relate to this more than most could ever understand

Nothing says sweet florist shop like a sweat shop of teens in the basement 😅
Love this idea & excited to download
ashley pace even better...a florist basement sweatshop filled with Grannies!!
Lol

@@penglingwhisperer3382 how do I find it I can’t see any thing on the gallery
I remember seeing something recently where a study was done and kids who are super into dinosaurs grow up to be really smart.
When I was like 8 I loved dinosaurs
We knew that from Ross Gellar 😆
It’s because you end up memorizing all those crazy Latin names I bet
If you're into mods, this shop would go perfect with LittleMsSam's one for live in businesses, it's amazing (it also adds a few new types too).
I'm planning on using this mod for this!
When she was talking about a bakery and the cupcake machine and wishing there was another way to make cupcakes in The Sims 4, I was like "there's a mod for that!" lol You just click on the oven to make them.
"I cut out all the pain and suffering that I had to do" wow big mood Kayak
I think you mean Knaya..
@@jmelancon962 oh my bad, yeah i meant Kanye
IBBY_art no it Kylie
It’s Kayla. She said it in the video and also says it a lot. True fans would know.
@@themadmoocow1235 it's kayak
“Lemme show you my dinosaurs!”
I love this for you. Apart from the dead ones (hope you’re ok. i’m sorry for your loss.)
Things like this make Kayla ridiculously adorable.
"LET ME SHOW YOU MY DINOSAURS. SOME ARE DEAD BUT STILL"
My current legacy game started as a runaway challenge. Growing flowers was how she made money. She is now an elder with a flower shop 😊
Aw 🥺 meanwhile me making all my sims immortal because I don’t want to part with them. You bet they’re all gonna have a young grandma lol
CONSPIRACY:
*lilsimsie is a sim and thats why shes such a natural builder..*
Wait maybe that's why her surname is literally Sims
I know no sim who is good at building, however, ik a chaotic god who is
That's some dam good graphics ea
Something you might be interested in fir next year: there are lego advent calendars that come with little pieces and directions for you to put it together and some of them have a little scene you can set them up on, they're pretty fun
OMG! I'm a florist! And I would love to have this shop!💐

I love this skill in the game. Make sure your sim is inspired when making these, they’ll make more money. A good way to go is to grow tulips and make the tulip bouquets. But mixed flowers are good, too, I’m pretty sure I’ve made over $4K on one arrangement. They’re also fun to scent and then get bonuses and moodlets from the bouquets. Giving them as gifts does stuff, too... Carl’s guide has all this info. I’m sure you have taken a look at it.
My first job was in a greenhouse. Sometimes I would help out with the floral department. It’s really fun IRL but also very stressful during holidays.
Really cute build!!
And the cupcake machine is amazing. It’s huge so I put it in basements. Another one to get inspired before using. If you bake the fancy foods with it you can sell those for multiple thousands, as well, right from your home lot. I think decorating them helps with the price. These are really fast money.
I work in a grocery store as a florist, just got the job this year. Honestly much more stressful than you would expect. Weddings and funerals every week and large intricate arrangements. We don't have enough room so we are constantly getting yelled at for making a mess. Not trying to complain haha.
*problem appears*
Kayla: make a basement
I think you mean knaya..
HolyMacu You mean Kayak?
Lol I do the exact same thing
I was getting tired of summoning sims (through pose player teleport) so I just made a dungeon with enough sims to feed my vampire family
everyone: dinosaur skeleton
kayak: dEaD ONES!!
Ren L it’s Kayla not kayak. A kayak is a type of boat, similar to a canoe.
@@themadmoocow1235 whose Kayla? I only know someone named kayak.
TheMadMooCow123 it’s a joke..?
@@themadmoocow1235 haha...
@@themadmoocow1235 It's an inside joke....
The flower arrangement skill breaks the game, honestly. Once you're at a decent level you can sell a piece for 4000-5000 simoleons each. And they don't take long to craft so you can easily make like 30k in a day if that's all your sim does.
Tips please
it's true to life, it's just that in a normal flower shop that money is split up across the entire staff which is usually a couple delivery drivers, a manager, an event consultant, and a few people to make the flowers/run the floor
When it says posted 2 minutes ago:
*impossible*
Who also gets bullied for playing sims at school?
Holy frick nuggets I don’t but I feel that if I tell anybody they’ll bully me. And literally just tell me who the frick is bullying you, I’ll drag them.
I have an idea for a build, but it might need a lot of CC to actually look good. An outdoor marketplace, like a farmer's market with some craft fair and antique/vintage finds and food carts.
"Lemme show you my dinosaurs...I've got a few..."
*struggles to hold them all*
"you get a basement" ok I have to say it was weird hearing CallMeKevin in Plumbella's video but similar talk in a LilSimsie video? I was not expecting that 😂 (Collab with Kevin though, I'm here for it)
Kayla: I’m in college
Also Kayla: LOOK AT MY DINOSAURS
Ngl I would treasure an official Lilsimsie dinosaur
I actually worked at a floral shop called Stillman's for 6 months (I plan on going back tho), I loved working there it was a quiet & creative work environment.
I never thought I could make good arrangements or be able to learn everything but I actually learned pretty quickly, I mainly did small stuff like vases, prep, small baskets & bowls.
Then watching them actually be sold to customers once they were finished gave me a sense of accomplishment, never really had that before, it was nice. ☺️
Last time I was this early, cc fridges were everywhere...
Your save file has literally salvaged enjoying this game for me - so thank you! I really like this build, and I'm glad you do what you do.
Lmao hi I’m a florist. I love working with my hands and making beautiful arrangements for people. It’s very rewarding. 💐
Also, I always make my sims garden and arrange flowers as a main source of income. 👌🏻
I've never been a florist, but I _was_ a gardener for a flower nursery for over a year, and I have to say that that was undoubtedly the best job that I've ever had. I never had to deal with rude, faceless customers, just florists and landscapers who all understood what we had to go through and were thus super nice; I learned way more Spanish working there than I ever did in my entire academic career; we got to watch the sun rise every morning, had an hour for lunch plus two fifteen minute breaks, and we left at three or four in the afternoon; I learned so much about flowers and plant health and the fact that I actually enjoy gardening; I was actually _going outside_ and _exercising...!_
I really miss that job. I only quit because I live in Texas and the heat and weather was getting to be too much for my health, and the constant couching was wearing down the menisci in my knees. Maybe some day, after I finish college, get my degree, and leave this hell-state, I'll work as an accountant for a nice florist shop or something. That could be pretty cool. :)
Also this build is adorable and I would absolutely live and work here.
Hi I live in Texas! There are some really wonderful plant shops in DFW, I frequent them often. You should give it another try :D
@@SunnyDaysRComing Ahhh, unfortunately, I live in the Houston area, but when I do start travelling, I'll be sure to check those shops out! :D
I feel like in the sims 2 you could make your home lot a retail lot. It’s something I feel like I remember doing.
MariannaPlusTwo yeah you can I used to always do it
it was kinda chaotic though with a bunch of sims everywhere in your house
@@yanaoboi You could lock doors for everyone but your household.
Maxianaconda I wasn’t a very smart gamer back when I played sims 2, I was 8-9 years old so yeah you can lock the doors and now I know it. but back then I remember everyone sitting in my living room and playing with my dog lol.
Sims 2 Open for Business! 10/10 great expansion pack
OMG THAT YELLOW AND GREEN ONE!! That’s a plesiosaur! My son is OBSESSED with plesiosaurs lol. That one is so cute to lol!
hello it’s 3am in scotland and i’m having a mental breakdown because of self isolation so thank you for this upload to calm me down
I’m actually going to college to do floristry and have helped my aunt with the flowers at a few weddings that she’s done. Love this sooo much
This is wholesome content 😂❤ Just Kayla talking about her dinosaurs
Challenge:
Do an 8 sim starter retail lot.
One where they can "live" in
Please!!!!!
I so want to put this at the front of a big lot... make the upstairs a painting studio and then build a small little cottage behind it for a couple to live. And play out the game as the couple running an art and flower shop! Love this!
recently been binging builds (more so I’m listening as I build!!) and I’m not gonna lie, it’s one of my favorite times of the day
So excited to find this! I can't do anything with flowers irl but flower arranging was one of my favorite things to come to the Sims. I was always so mad about not having a purpose for my flowers 😂
My parents used to own a flower shop in Florida when we moved here from England. It was super fun and through high school I worked there. It was great. Super cute build. Xx
I was into floristsry in high school! I used to enter flower arrangement competitions 😅
Cate2020 that’s so cool
i kinda picture like a young hip couple owning this shop, and one of them is studying biology at uni ahaha
In my small town we had a floral shop and it was actually so freaking cute. It was like a Victorian style pink house turned into a flower shop.
Last time i was this early speed build sunday was still a regular thing 😭🤩🤪
You could have your shops built to look like houses. I live in Florida too and downtown there's an old house built in the 1920s that our lawyer practices out of. I appreciate it because its keeping a piece of history instead of tearing it down. 💗
There is a functioning cc cupcake machine that you can fit on a counter. I saw it the other day on tumblr. If I find it again I will link it to you. :)
I usually love your builds, but for some reason I particularly love this build. :)
My dad used to have a rose garden. My family would make floral arrangments together and give some to our family and neighbors. This build really hits me in the nostalgia bone and I will definitely download this. 💕
I'm not a florist but my aunt used to be who I lived with at the time so when I was quite a bit younger I did flower arrangements a lot with her. It's pretty fun because its impossible to make it look bad since flowers are so beautiful.
Also I totally agree the awning is what made me love the thumbnail so much. This makes me wanna build my own floral shop so bad
This build is so cute aww!
props on thinking about a florist shop and the whole concept of selling flower arrangements! sounds really fun and definitely will implement that in my gameplay! 🥰😊
Flower arranging is like a whole thing in Dallas. It’s a big deal to get accepted in a garden club where you enter arrangement contests and stuff. I did it with my mom when i was younger and entered in junior competitions! Love it sm
I started the 100 baby challenge private game about a week ago and made my sim a florist using littlemssam's live in business mod so it's so cool how you've built a florist shop, it's like so fitting
SIMSIE im actually a florist!!!!!! at a grocery store not a cute little shop like this BUT THIS MADE ME SO EXCITED we're not that niche!!
My grandmother and mother were both florists for most of their lives. I learned from them and became one when I went to college and worked as one for MANY years. The florist life is surprisingly stressful! Love the shop design!
I'm a florist! I'm here! lol
Coincidentally, the florist shop I work for is this converted auto shop that had an apartment above it for the family that owned the business, which we now use for storage... but it's literally a big concrete box with an apartment upstairs. They made the front cute, though.
Also, if it's a busy day, the floral assembly line is a real thing. On Valentine's and Mother's day we all come early, leave late, and there's 5 or 6 of us in the back room just constantly making arrangements and we have to take lunch in shifts. 😅
I guess Kayla never watched The Bread Shop, and so never found out that if you separate dishes into individual servings, each portion sells for the original price of the group dish~
This was such a cute idea! Love your flower shop!
Can you do a CAS video on the flower-granny? 😊🌺
This was fun, cause my sims have actually been living in this (redecorated) shop for the last few days
kayak you are so adorable oh my god this shop is so cute
My expectation: cute little flower shop
Simsie: flower slavery
my moms moms dad was a florist in Copenhagen and my grandmother grew up in an apartment above the shop!
Love the flower shop - thanks. Could not wait for Planet Zoo’s release date but now never play it - for me it’s frustrating and hard work not fun. I have only ever played the Sims and Zoo Tycoon and in my opinion Planet Zoo assumes people are much more experienced in games that use hot keys and keyboard controls. Even to do the tutorials took hours and involved searching RUclips and the internet for basic tutorials. The game is also incredibly complex with heaps of menus, tabs and things to keep track of. I was very disappointed.
I think that Planet Zoo kinda assumed that most of their future players, already played planet coaster for starters and wanted to make it even more complicated than that already was?
I agree with you! I gave up when the tutorial kept saying my habits were joined together but they weren't. Then it said the keeper could not get to the animals. I spent 5 hours trying to get it correct. I even restarted then it crashed twice. So I went back to making my Sims happy.
Dacia Sykes jee, sounds like you tried really hard to make it work, I’m sorry to hear this. I wish I had the game, it does look really fun and I already have planet coaster, but it’s sooo expensive :(
I’d be trying to get a refund
My dad is a landscaper, and he had a shop a little like this while I was growing up! It was a house on the corner of a street, and it had that fenced-in yard where he grew flowers and the upstairs that was kind of a little apartment (nobody lived there but it was kind of like the employee area with a couch and a TV.) I remember spending days there in the summer when there was no school. I remember the kitchen off to the side with fridges full of flower arrangements. This was very nostalgic. :3
I love how Kayla is so obsessed with her dinosaurs! It’s so funny to see her get so exited over paw patrol and dinosaur advent calendars.
I’m a partial florist at a grocery store, I work in the Floral Dept 2 days a week. Lots of hauling boxes, cleaning and balloon making. Also flower arranging, of course.
I'm from a small(ish) town and a lot of businesses are actually run out of old Victorian-style houses. Usually the business is on the bottom and the second floor is where they live. Also this florist shop is really cute!
Ok, my build inspirations are back!
14:51 when she picked up the dinosaurs 🥺👉🏼👈🏼
The best references for shops are houses that have been converted into shops. That way the exterior doesn't look so out of place. Smaller towns with lots of older buildings tend to have these in their downtown areas or Main Street. If you get a chance to visit one or two, you can make notes on how the conversion was done.
Sitting here needing my last 20x20 lot and you come in clutch with the flower shop💯
5:36
Oh.. oh dear simsie, don't let anyone take that clip out of context.
I think that it would be cute to have a granny here who has to look after her teenage granddaughter, and is really trusting her to take care of the florist shop when she's gone, but her granddaughter has other plans like university and getting her own job and family
Oh my gosh! I wasn’t going to play sims tonight but I saw this build and now I’m making a sim just to live here! Thank you Kayla!!
Do plants grow on sales lots though?
About reference images, how about using a translator if you only speak English and then do an image search, that way you might find different architecture that could inspire you .
I’ve been too busy or distracted to play sims this month but this video made me want to play to bad!!! I never clicked so fast in my life once I read the concept!!!!
Going to school for floral design actually! And yes I'm very excited you were talking about it lol. As for the store I worked in last Valentines, we're actually set up in two houses, one is storage, the other is the store and work space so the homey feel of it feels at home. I'm definitely downloading it and shoving my sim self in it c:
Love your videos ❤️ I try to make builds like you and I absolutely suck 😅
One of the reasons I love Sims 4 so much is because it's probably the only one in the franchise where I can make more money from home gardening and painting than actually working. It also helps that I am a big hermit, but hey, I am perfectly happy being a homebody and keeping my sims around and happy.
i was literally playing sims when you posted it on the gallery and i was like omg yayyy
I love watching retail/commercial speed builds!
Gardening is very lucrative, but so is garlic. Making Garlic Wreaths they're $202 per, and if you plant enough garlic you'll be able to make around 3k per day which is more than enough to survive on.
Just search for typical British type village shops, then you’ll be able to find good references 😊 loved the build Kayla! 💖💖💖
You definitely should make your 100 baby sim own this flower shop!!!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing you talk about your dinosaurs and yes it was an important topic
Yes!!! I have been SEARCHING for a florist shop and you managed to make one almost exactly as I envisioned it!
I actually really work at a flower shop!!! It’s so much fun and smells amazing.
If you don't want the dinosaurs and paw patrol toys, you could donate them to a local daycare! Though it would be pretty funny to randomly get a paw patrol toy from your fav youtuber at a fan meetup lol
So pretty. Never thought of this. Thanks for the idea.
Not a florist but I looooove plants and gardening is actually one of my Favorite things to do in the sims!
It's so adorable, I love it so much!
I’ll totally agree! My sims have a small garden with roses and alien plants. It’s an old save file so these roses have been fertilized for multiple generations and make tons of money. At least 10 thousand a day for a side job garden, ya know?
Oh I remember this on stream! Everyone was clowning on her for her "grandma" wallpaper choice in the bathroom lol
Kayla, I just wanted to express how grateful I am for your uploads and streams every single day. They really help me get through the week 💓 hope you're doing well x
This build is so cute!!
this is the first year I've missed out on having an advent calender (sad, boring grown-up stuff has gotten in the way :/), but I've been living vicariously through Kayla and getting exited to see a new dinosaur each day... and who says Simmers don't make an impact :D
I used to have flower arrangement classes in highschool, even had an exam in it. I loved those classes it was rlly fun. But I don’t do any flower arrangements at home, nor have I done any flower arrangements since finishing highschool 6 years ago 😂.
