This isn’t humane. Anyone with a heart would put the chick to sleep before that. Imagine the stress of having your head and body stuffed upside down in a cone, then throat slit.
I love this beautiful work. I love farms, living in the countryside, raising livestock and poultry. I like to raise them and all pets ... I hope to get this job in the future. I have 21 years
Probably?? It absolutely IS better than ANY you will buy at the grocery store friend. Taste better, cooks better.. it’s amazing at the difference when they are not being fed steroids like the ones in the supermarkets are.
Yeah. I once ate a human arm (I won't tell which country it was - but it was from a lesser tribe, not civilized at all). It was really good, actually. Want to try again but I guess I don't get the chance to again.
Only if you want fatter tougher meat. These particular are genetically bread specifically for 9 weeks to be 4 to 7 pound birds for processing. If you let these type of birds go for months and months they will actually gain so much weight it will cause them health problems and can have strokes or heart attacks.
I've done all this in the 80s, 800 to 900 processed in a mornings work. Obviously this video is of a much smaller operation,I find some of the processes to be inefficient and very slow, but every Farm is different, big birds though,we raised ours in barns on deep litter to 7 to 8 weeks and averaged 2 to 3 kilos in weight,Most of our production we blast froze, but latter just heavily chilled.
I'm just learning all this but are you dunking the chickens while they are still alive😞😱 I would think that would be an awful way to go , or are you coning them first to bleed out then dunking them as that seems a lot more humane then dunking live chickens in scalding water 😵😲 I really hope that they are completely dead before dunking it just would break my heart knowing they were scalded to death😪 I'm so curious about all this and am looking to raise my own meat someday but the butchering I don't know if I could do it myself ,I know we must eat to survive but couldn't you raise your own chickens and then take them to a butcher possibly and just pick your meat up after all the sad stuff happens 🤷 also may I ask what advice can you give to someone like me who gets attached to animals to be able to not grow an attachment to the meat chickens,so I don't feel so guilty about the process of taking their lives,I always appreciate people who respect their animals and give them the best life ,however I seen some pretty awful video's with these big meat facilities and tge conditions of tge animal and how they are treated is absolutely horrible!! So I appreciate those of you who literally are kind and tge animals are most importantly respected and should be thanked for their sacrifice as they give us life 💕 someone please help me figure out how I can move forward with learning all this without getting attached because my heart is just so compassionate for these meat animals, maybe I could have someone do the process on my land and all I need to do is put the birds in cooling baths and bag seal date them and place in freezer ,does anyone else do this by chance ,or possibly raise them and take to a butcher 🤷 also ty for the video just know each video I watch for learning I'm thanking the animals respectfully so .....again ty for being great human beings and sharing the process 😍
I would'nt be able to do that either..... specially raising them since babies.. that's not in me. I dont do pork or red meat, animals are mistreated for us to eat them.. and chickens are too :(
We have trail cam pics of coyotes walking around the tractor but no predator has ever gotten in. As they are checked every morning and moved daily along with hard soil I think that has been the answer.
Fantastic process! It's wonderful to see how a local operation takes such great care of their chickens to produce a clean, natural and healthy bird!

Good, well explained video.
9 weeks of glorious pampering, fine food and drink, TLC, and about 30 seconds or less of abject horror.
And hours of deliciousness!

feed it, kill it, steam it, cook it and eat it, simple enough.

I thought they cut they necks off in the chutes 😭 I’m too weak stomached for this
Allll that effort, hatching, raising, cleaning, feeding, moving that cage. Slaughtering, defeathering.... Cooked chicken at tesco £6.50 xD
Not even the same thing. That bird for £6.5 lived in a tiny cage and never got to move around. Never ate bugs or greens. The flavor doesn’t compare

Those chickens should of been on pasture 2 weeks earliers, way to late , almost time to harvest

Don’t the predators try to dig under the sides of the chicken tractor or is the ground too hard. They do in Florida
