I have been stacking my overdrives in the opposite direction for around ten years. Never bothered to try it in the opposite direction. Thanks for the suggestion!
I like modulation pre-drive, except for nice stereo things like a Dimension or a Rotary (and of course Delay and Reverb.) Hearing flange or phase or chorus jacked up just sounds so twisted and intense.
@@mykhedelic6471 I could get on board with that! My favorite mod is the Dimension sound so I prioritize the order for that but it makes me want to get a loop switcher so I could reorder the board for stuff like flanger before drive and what not. Someday. ☺️ thanks for the comment!
Nice desk! And video... lol. I think it's worth a mention that some pedals are sensitive to impedance e.g. certain fuzz pedals, so that might need to go before a buffered utility pedal (like a tuner). Also I'm sure a lot of people put EQ before the gain stages as you do, but I'd guess they would be in the minority. Many, including good old Uncle Larry use EQ after OD as a boost / shaper pedal. What ever works best for each!
For sure! It's tough to hit every situation pedal users find themselves in. More of a starting point video than any thing. Do you have an EQ on your board?
I’m currently working on restructuring my board. Right now it’s Polytune3 - EHX Tone Corset - EHX Spruce Goose - EHX Operation Overlord - Keeley Moon Op Amp Fuzz - JHS Unicorn - EHX Silencer.. and on the fx loop of the Silencer I’m doing OBNE BL-44 - Walrus ARP 87 - Walrus Fathom - Walrus Fundamental Ambient. Thinking about moving the Unicorn and Fuzz closer to the front of the chain
I would try that, moving your fuzz and Uni early will make them a bit more subtle which can be nice with extreme effects. But keep in mind, order doesn't matter if you never stack pedals. So just think about the pedals you'd like to use together and then find the order that gets you a should you love. Killer board bro! Great drives and great ambient wet effects. I'm sure it sounds awesome!
I do everything waaay different. I do ascending levels of distortion, comp at the end, eq 2/3rds of the way thru, 4cable noise gate in an awkward spot... I just realized my pedal order is weird...this is the fiftieth vid I watched on this amd damn
lol That's wild! But I dig it! If that get's you the sounds you're looking that's great. This video is more of a suggestion to player's that are having trouble getting sounds on players that are new to pedals. Thanks for the comment!
I have the dunlop mini volume pedal--- and have Black Country " The Secret Path"... that has a slot to plug in an exspression pedal... So if my reverb is last ,where should I put my volume pedal?
If you're using it as an expression its not actually in you chain, but if you are using the DMV as a volume, my favorite spot is the first pedal after drives.
Excellent. Thanks for being short and too the point!
@@CYTVim I try, it doesn’t always end up that way. lol thanks for watching

It does a thing. but it all depends on how you dial them in. Thanks for the comment!
Nice!☺️🎸

The first rule of the order of effects is there are no rules 😎🤙
You got that right! haha

Compression->Tuner->Rat->Chorus->DarkSide->other Fuzz->wah->Noise Reducer
Wah last, right on! What chorus are you using?
@@GettinBetterWithDavepigtone super chorus
@@lukeguillow Right on! I like the all white finish on those. I have't played one.
How to assemble a good fx, here are the fx I have. Overdrive, phase90, chorus, delay, amp sim, cab sim, flanger, equalizer. Thank you

My bass signal chain: Bass guitar> Compressor>Chorus>Flanger>Boss Overdrive>big muff>Morley wah>delay>rack tuner>amp
Rad! Is the Boss overdrive a ODB-3? Also, What delay?

@@GettinBetterWithDave ODB 3 yes, aka crunch'n munch. Digital delay is a boss DD-8

Keeps changing but fuzz war>blues driver>plumes>tuner>carbon copy>echo dream>viscous vibe>small clone>true spring reverb
Nice! I dig that! How do you like that Fuzz War?
What does wet mean?
Wet would mean "effected" signal.
