Lol you should’ve definitely been in Queens NY for that. Either Taco Veloz or any street vendor in 103rd street and Roosevelt. Since you were in Brooklyn nenes taqueria in Bushwick known for their birria. I feel like all the touristy places in New York just never live up to the hype out here 😢. And you are right when I visited Toronto I didn’t even scratch the surface and the food was just so much better y’all actually care to deliver with the eats .❤

Katz is such a good place. I had them first time in Texas. Amazing sandwiches, salads etc. Their drinks and desserts are good. Your trip looked really fun. I've heard food is expensive there, is that the case? Lol I calculate to CDN when I go too 😅.

Try Maneros pizza next time; wayyyy better. The vibes are off at prince street pizza. However the dessert place across the street onthe corner is bomb.

As someone who lives 15 minutes away from manhattan, the food is too overhyped and expensive,the place is too crowded, if i want a headache and a hole in my pocket, i will drive there lol

Ahhh coming from someone who’s born/raised in NYC but spent all her college years in Buffalo, I traveled to Toronto religiously. Only 2 hours from Buffalo! I must say NYC food is better than Toronto 😥 wish you tried the right places and not the tourist traps .
No way. You can't good Trini and Jamaican food in NYC like they have in Toronto. Liberty Ave, Bedstuy, East Flatbush etc spots are trash compared to Toronto. Also, Asian food in general is way better in Toronto than NYC. Only thing New York has over Toronto is Italian Mexican and Jewish food, but Toronto Trini food alone is enough to take out all NY food.

i went to a habesha restaurant in nyc and saw the blonde asian villain from rush hour eating with his family lol. dunkin donuts is nasty. i went to a brunch spot and they gave us an entire champagne bottle for our mimosa. their food is really good and the portions are huge. the good spots are at the bodegas and the less famous places. i think toronto has more authentic and diverse food. nyc has great street food and quick meals that aren't overhyped

Im a big fan of Toronto food but as a NYer I have to say we have better food, I feel like you kept going to tiktok famous places. Next time you come you have to go to more local spots,
Nah, I'm a native New Yorker and worked in Toronto for 2 years and Toronto has much better food. Particularly Trini and Jamaican food, but the East Asian / Southeast Asian / South Asian food is WAY better in Toronto than NYC.

I'm a native New Yorker and have worked in Toronto for a few years and I think Toronto has a slight edge for food over New York. Here's why:
1. Toronto has way more and way better Trini spots than NY. Yes we have Bedstuy and all the Trini and Guyanese spots on Liberty Ave in Queens, but it's nowhere on the level of Toronto roti shops. This is my favorite food as a Filipino American so this is why Toronto gets a lot of points from me.
2. Similarly, Jamaican food is much better in Toronto than NYC. Ritz's in Toronto for example is better than anything I've had in NYC.
3. In general all of the South, Southeast and East Asian food in Toronto is better than NY. Especially in Markham. Toronto also has a lot more obscure stuff like hakka, good Malaysian and Sri Lankan.
4. Toronto also gets all of the trendy brand restaurants like Momofuku and sweets like Uncle Tetsu.
5. New York beats Toronto in Italian food, pizza, Jewish deli food, Mexican tacos, Southern BBQ, high end Michelin star dining etc. You can still get good versions of these foods in Toronto but there is way more selection in NYC. We also have the best Thai restaurant in the world, Sripraphai in Queens.
In general though, since my palate leans towards Caribbean food and especially Trini food (as well as similarly tasting foods like Indian, Thai, Malaysian, Sri Lankan etc) and the fact that I can't get amazing roti and doubles in NYC, I would say Toronto slightly wins for me. However, if you like Italian, Mexican or Jewish deli foods, NYC is much better. A lot of New Yorkers don't realize that Toronto is actually more diverse than NY in terms of country count, even though it's a smaller city. So there is a massive variety of ethnic foods in Toronto. Most New Yorkers assume we're the most diverse city in the world, when we're not.
No offence but most people of any ethnicity in New York is a born and raised American they don’t have the experience of knowing what to do when making the cultural food
