What a perfect way to end a cold hike:) Big props to both of you guys for not only hiking up on the icy trail (and down it - down is worse in my opinion), but for enduring the wind!!! Man, conditions like that definitely add significant time to your hike so big ups to you guys for not turning back!!! Glad you guys got clear weather and a big thank you for sharing such amazing views!! Safe travels!
😂 sometimes I dunno what I'm saying but it turned out alright in this case 😂 thanks for the props! This one was really tough we came across some more seasoned walkers on our way back and they looked surprised to see us on the track 👣 I think it's cause we look like city dwellers 😂 going back in this case was a lil easier cause we got used finding paths with the show rather than the slippery ice. Do you have sights like this in Korea?
@@PeterandYen Glad you guys were able to make it to the viewpoint safely 😊. That wind look frigid!!! Korea is so tiny so definitely doesn't have the grand views like NZ, but being 70% or so moutainous, there definitely are some beautiful places. There are also 3000+ islands, which if you can handle the boat ride, some awesome scenery to be found. When/if you guys ever come to Korea, I recommend Seoraksan National Park...especially in the fall. Very beautiful place (and as a bonus, one of the largest limestone caves in Asia isn't too far away - pretty awesome place). Stay safe guys and happy travels!
😯 ooooo the national park and the cave sounds right up our alley. Didn't realise there were so many islands too. Yen has always really wanted to visit Korea 🇰🇷 and lately after watching so many k dramas its only amplified that desire 😂 take care too mate
@@SeoulMan2020 my wife and I loved our time in South Korea and it truly is stunning. It's hard to believe that Japan and China are major tourist destinations, but the ROK gets passed over too often!

The walk to the waterfall is absolutely stunning! Wintery landscapes have always been my favorite 😍 and the waterfall at the end was beautiful with the water going down the icicles
One of the best natural sights we've seen it was just amazing. Hahaha yeah had to give each other some props for this one the conditions were tough. Only saw two groups one turned back cause it was too difficult and the other were really rugged looking fellas 😂
WOW awesome walks to those frozen waterfalls. You might have to invest in some walking poles for your next snowy adventure. That wind was so loud it sounded like an avalanche when you were filming Ruapehu. NZ never disappoints scenery wise.
😅 we will be able to get some poles for yen unfortunately for me I need to carry our camera gear too so need to be extra careful not to slip over and break everything.

Why am I watching this as a Canadian in endless summer heat? Just kidding. Great video. Hard to imagine so much snow and ice on the north island. Glad Peter didn’t bring his jandals.
@@PeterandYen yes and no. New Zealand is unique. The snow I grew up with so I’ve seen frozen water falls, but volcanos rare and snow-covered ferns are only on the west coast. That was cool for me.
You guys should try do a series of food vlogs of NZ,as you stop off at some of the best places on your travels,and Shanxi in Hamilton is always a great stop (I'm biased being an ex Hamilton hoon)
😁 we used to focus just on food but decided that we enjoyed making travel vlogs where we do both more. sometimes we might only eat 1 huge meal a day especially while traveling.
looks amazing as usual, need to walk that track but in summer, and as for your stop in hamilton for a feed, definitely, a place to check out and I've been living in Htown for over 40yrs, wooooow, thanks guys

The waterfalls are indeed spectacular ans just like Peter said there's no other comforting food after a cold hike is a hot bowl of soup l noodles. I will go foe Yen bowl hehehehe and I love stinky tofu, only had it when we were in Taiwan and HK. P.S why didn't u guys wear a beanie and pack a thermos? Warm drink after a hike is a must lol
🤔 hmmm that's a great idea packing a warm drink in a thermos. Tbh after wearing so many layers we were pretty snug 😅 especially while doing so much walking. Nothing quite like noodles though after a day like this. Feel so nourished. 😂👍 nice we also enjoyed stinky tofu in Taiwan 🇹🇼 randomly stumbled on a store with a Michellen award that specialized in stinky tofu.
@@PeterandYen I always love a hot or warm water especially tea after a cold day outing. We always bring a thermos with us whenever we went out 😅. I had the stinky tofu at Taiwan night market. Now that we're talking about it I'm drooling. We do have a place selling it here in Sydney but I haven't try. Cannot go anywhere now because we are in lockdown.
Ahhh yes same with us, the night markets in Taiwan 😍 so much to eat so little stomach space hahaha. 🤞 that lockdown lifts soon and Australia gets the cases back in order.
@@PeterandYen the current situation Sydney is in right now is not looking good. We might not get out of this lockdown til like September. I have been viewing my old pics of NZ and miss it badly. Asia has so much to offer in term of street food. Yup, if only our tummy is bigger than our eyes lol

We've made heaps of videos from the South Island already but funny enough just came back from the remarkables ski field today 😂 vlog coming in a few weeks
Best advice is check the road condition report everyday cause the weather changes constantly. We were lucky on both of our days thankfully it was pretty good just a lil slippery in shady parts during the early morning.

The waterfalls are indeed spectacular ans just like Peter said there's no other comforting food after a cold hike is a hot bowl of soup l noodles. I will go foe Yen bowl hehehehe and I love stinky tofu, only had it when we were in Taiwan and HK.
P.S why didn't u guys wear a beanie and pack a thermos? Warm drink after a hike is a must lol
🤔 hmmm that's a great idea packing a warm drink in a thermos. Tbh after wearing so many layers we were pretty snug 😅 especially while doing so much walking. Nothing quite like noodles though after a day like this. Feel so nourished. 😂👍 nice we also enjoyed stinky tofu in Taiwan 🇹🇼 randomly stumbled on a store with a Michellen award that specialized in stinky tofu.
@@PeterandYen I always love a hot or warm water especially tea after a cold day outing. We always bring a thermos with us whenever we went out 😅. I had the stinky tofu at Taiwan night market. Now that we're talking about it I'm drooling. We do have a place selling it here in Sydney but I haven't try. Cannot go anywhere now because we are in lockdown.
Ahhh yes same with us, the night markets in Taiwan 😍 so much to eat so little stomach space hahaha. 🤞 that lockdown lifts soon and Australia gets the cases back in order.

Best advice is check the road condition report everyday cause the weather changes constantly. We were lucky on both of our days thankfully it was pretty good just a lil slippery in shady parts during the early morning.
